I'm a Professional Photographer, and value my comfort when working.
The Atom lt allows me to just get on with my job without getting in the way.
With a rather limiting (for many manufacturers) body shape, 6'1, 225lbs, 48" chest and 35" waist I am very broad. This often results in huge waist area on garments to be able to fit my shoulders/chest. The Atom lt in XL not only fits me perfectly, it looks stylish also (i.e. not a tent).
It weighs nothing! It's akin to putting on a t-shirt in weight.
But the most amazing thing, you don't want to take it off. It's like being encased in your most comfortable duvet/bed, just the right temperature and comfort, simply amazing.
Being Arcteryx the quality and materials are top notch. The cuff design is genius and the fit/finish just great.
I don't think I could ever be without an Atom lt, it's great as a mid layer, solo for around town, and in certain colours even smart enough for more corporate work situations.
A must have piece in my mind.

I am 188 cm/95 kg - large fits me perfectly. I had an LT hoody before, but after I bought it my son kept on "borrowing" it so I decided to just let him keep it (he wears it all the time). I liked that jacket very much, but because I don't care much for the hood I purchased an LT jacket with no hood. It may be my personal preference, but one thing is missing - hem drawcord (hooded Atom LTs have it, but jackets with no hood don't). Otherwise, I love the jacket and will now have to buy one for my other son before the new one is gone...

I love that the non-hoody Atom LT fits perfectly under my Beta AR. Unsure as to why there are only non-hoody versions of the Atom AR for men, but please design the Atom AR without a hood for women as well. The hooded design fits really awkwardly with jackets that have a drop hood.

First, a little bit about me. I am 1.74m (5ft 8in) tall and weigh 74kg (163lb). My chest measures 109cm (43in) and waist 84cm (33in). I have an athletic build and my challenge is always finding things to fit my chest/ back/ shoulders particularly when reaching and whilst maintaining a trim fit around the mid-riff.
This jacket really is a benchmark for cold weather layering. I tend to heat up quickly so went for this over the AR version and think I made a good choice. The fleece/ hardface sides provide improved breathability and a little stretch to assist movement under your shell. I'm also not sure you need much more than its Coreloft 60g insulation unless in severe cold (in which case it fits perfectly over my Arc' Argus jacket for more warmth). Corded zippers mean its easy to work with gloves on in winter, my only improvement would be a single pull hem drawcord (a small improvement!). Other than, the really lightweight provides you with a lot of warmth (when wet too) and a little weight! I also went non-hooded because I wanted it specifically for layering, although the DWR could get you through showers as a stand-alone outer if you wanted.

This is my all-time favourite jacket. I wear it everyday during the winter. It fits great under a shell and it also looks stylish on its own. I was shocked to find out how warm it was while being worn on its own.

Had this as Christmas present and used most of the week we were up in the Lake District with just a base layer on. Great product kept me warm but thanks to side panels not sweating. With neck collar allows more comfort and warmth. Zip very easy to use and looks great as casual jacket so one jacket instead of 2.

This jacket is the real deal. If you are hiking, camping, climbing or simply attending your child's sporting event outside this jacket can do it all. It is surprisingly light and can provide warmth in anything down to around 20 degrees.
I work in an outdoor store and I tell our customers that this jacket is the best all around . I do wish it was water proof, but really that is not a big deal, because this jacket it supposed to be a layering piece. I appreciate the light weight and the way that it fits.
Truly, there is no jacket like it.

I'm 6'2" 230lbs with athletic build the XL fits like a glove. This is a perfect 90% jacket, in other words you will wear it 90% of the time. Slides on easy because it has smooth nylon interior and the zipper is perfect works great and never stages. I lost my favorite Mountain Hardware jacket a few years ago and have been searching for the perfect jacket to replace it, this one is it. Highly recommend.

Bought this very recently to do some trekking in Yoho National Park in BC. Temperatures were a balmy -25 Celsius the entire weekend but the Atom layered under a lightweight wind breaker was perfectly warm for the walk in and out. I have come to except this type of exceptional performance from Arc'teryx products and the Atom is a layer that I will never be without in the bush.

I am 5'11 and about 145 lbs. A medium fits me well. The sleeves are long enough... huge bonus. It would be nice if the body was a little longer.
I use it for everything and it has stood up very well. Very durable. A little prone to staining on the orange color but I am very hard on my gear in the backcountry and alpine.
It is highly breathable. This also comes with quite a bit of wind permeability, so it's a trade off. It doesn't fold into itself per se as it is not designed to do that. For anyone who needs a small and compact piece, this is super light but not super compact. (Still pretty small though) I still use it everywhere I go outside because it's awesome.
Overall this is my favorite jacket I have. I find myself wearing it even when I should be wearing warmer pieces because it even looks stylish in addition to how great it performed. Highly recommend. The price is worth it, however expensive.

I am 5'6" tall, 160 to 165lbs, 40" chest, 32" waist. I wear a size medium which fits well over a base layer or over a light sweater. The fit overall is great, but being a shorter, stockier guy the sleeves are too long and hence tend to bunch up too much around my wrist, but I'd rather have the sleeves too long than too short. The breathable side panels are nice and stop me from overheating, but in windy conditions you can feel the air passing through the jacket. In windy conditions I would wear a shell over top.I typically wear my Atom LT with a t-shirt underneath in 40 to 50 degree weather, then add a sweater underneath in 30 to 20 degree weather, at around 15 to 20 degrees, I'll switch to my Atom AR or throw a shell on top so the wind isn't blowing through the jacket. Even though this isn't as warm as my Atom AR it is my go-to jacket for running errands, walking the dog and other activities.

I purchased my Atom LT in 2010 and have used it for cool fall and spring days and for layering in the winter ever since. I've put this jacket through the wringer -- in the past, I've been very inconsistent with jacket care. With only spot treatments for years, this jacket has been incredible. Six years in, I have just purchased a replacement due to going down in size, but will keep this LT in circulation regardless. Well recommended.

This jacket is very versatile- it can be worn casually with jeans, or it can be a windbreaker for the outdoors.
Fits true to size (medium), highly recommended!

I got this jacket a size big so that I could grow into it but still wear it. I've been wearing it for a couple of years and I love it, I've also gotten several complements on it. Over all, it's a great jacket and I would recommend it to anyone.

I have skied with this as a mid layer for over a year, that's about 100 days on the mountain. I use this in tandem with the Stingray hardshell. This is a great mid layer. I also where this around town on warmer days...above 40 degrees F and it's great. I cannot say enough about it. I love it.

The Atom LT is my favorite winter jacket for many reasons: it is very lightweight, you don't feel anything on your shoulders; it is an excellent mid-layer on colder days, and a great outer jacket on those not too cold days. I love the stretchy material on the side of the torso to allow for more flexible movements. It is super easy to wash, just toss it in the washer with a splash of NicWax tech wash, and ta ta, you are done. I typically just hang-dry, it takes no time!
My only complaint about this jacket is a general complaint that I have with Arcteryx: the sizing is too far apart. Size L actually fits me well everywhere except the chest, but size XL is too loose for me. I really wish they would start making clothing for full-body figured women too!

A friend of mine has owned his atom for some time now; and has been after me to get one too. I have the Stingray jacket and other ArcTeryx clothing, so I usually just layer under for added warmth. But finally decided to buy one for the cold dry weather days. Wow.. What an incredible amount of heat from a near weightless jacket. It seriously weighs like nothing. And honestly feels like its made from a premier sleeping bag material. (which makes me again ask why ArcTeryx doesn't make sleeping bags) But thats another story. The only caution is that the fit is different from other sized jackets. I wear a L in the stingray, and an XL in the Atom. Overall, this jacket is absolutely in a league of its own. If you're looking for a warm mid layer, or dry weather outer shell, and wanna stay toasty, don't hesitate. Buy today BTW, the new blue looks awesome.
