I have an Atom LT vest and I love it. I'm 55, 6'4" and 190 lbs and the Large fits perfectly. Naturally, I had hoped the Atom LT jacket would work as well. Idaho has cold winters, but also many in-between days in the spring and fall when a lighter jacket is needed. Unfortunately, I found the Large too short in the sleeves and too short in front at the waist. I ordered an XL and found it too big in the torso. I was very disappointed, as generally I've found Arc'teryx products to fit my tall, slim body well. It would have made the perfect light jacket. I'm still looking for an alternative that is as light and good-looking but longer in the sleeves and in the front. I've found some very high-end Arc'teryx jackets that look like they might work for a tall, thin guy, but they're out of my price range.

I love since I got it (5 years ago). It was expensive, but better than everything else around. Used for sailing, mountaineering, climbing, trekking and around the city. Lightweight, super professional midlayer jacket with two minor issues. First is the lack of waistcords, so it is not adjustable, second is the fleece sidepanels in case of static activity, like waiting or fishing.

The jacket is very light and not bulky. It is warm. I own 2 of these jackets.

The Atom Lt is the best light weight puffy that I have ever owned! It's a great insulating layer under a shell. Most of the time when I'm snowboarding or fly fishing in foul weather all I need is this jacket under my waterproof shell. I stay very warm and still have great range of motion in my shoulders and arms. The only drawback to this jacket is it's durability. The outer nylon shell on the Atom albeit lightweight, tears very easily. I have had 2 Atom Light's and both have torn in multiple places while I'm fishing or wearing it with a backpack. My first one was torn by my backpack belt while I was just hiking on a trip in WY, normal abuse, nothing crazy. My newest one tore on a thorn bush the other day while I was coming off the river. Not acceptable! I know this is supposed to be an insulating under layer but it is also a great lightweight outer jacket for cooler weather conditions. If Arc'teryx would just slightly beef up the outer shell on this jacket with some rip stop or heavier gauge nylon it would be the perfect jacket!

Pros: very light but warm, especially thought for outdoor aerobic activities quiet windproof highly moisture resistant in my opinion, as a mid layer, it is far better than fleece, especially in a cold environment Cons Fits a little bit large in the hips

Have worn this mid-layer in 34F weather in mild wind. Under a shell, it was comfortable, but not toasty. Still, when you see how thin and supple it is, I find it amazing. I would never have predicted it. Build quality (mine is from Bangladesh) is great. Zipper is smooth. If not zipped all the way up, the zipper will slide down if you pull on the jacket above the zipper pull. I don't find this bothersome. When I am using it in an active pursuit, it works very well. If I am standing around in the cold, I don't shiver, but I know it's cold out there. If you are cold-blooded, I'd spend the extra bucks on the SV version. It's a 100g fill while the LT is a 60g fill.

Since I haven't seen anyone else on here write about it, I'll start with what I don't like about this jacket: the zipper... If I pull it down partially to get some ventilation, it will generally undo itself most of the way down. I read somewhere that this was done on purpose but I honestly can't figure out why, and I couldn't find reasoning on the Arc'Teryx website. If you don't care about this or don't think you would notice (for instance, my girlfriend who has the same jacket didn't even know that this happened until I asked her about it) then it won't be a big deal, but it is something that customers should be aware of before purchasing - particularly off the internet. My only other qualm and its not important if you try the jacket on is that I find it fits a bit short in the arms for tall people. I'm 6'4" and slim and the large JUST fits my arm length, where the large of the Beta AR fits the length of my arms perfectly. Everything else about this jacket is awesome. Under a hard shell (I have a Beta AR) it is brilliantly warm and can be worn throughout most of the winter. The fleece underarm strips are great at keeping the jacket down when you lift your arms and expelling heat when you're sweaty. The cuffs are the nicest I've seen on any jacket. The best part of in my opinion though is its ability to stay warm when wet. I've been on runs or working outside when its been cold and ended up sweating enough to make the jacket wet all the way through by the time I took it off inside. Amazingly I didn't even notice that it had gotten as wet as it had when outside. Great jacket for active warmth. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a warm mid to outer layer that's VERY lightweight. My girlfriend also loves hers.

The jacket is great. But I had to return it. The jacket runs small across the chest. I am 58 yrs old, 5ft 7inch, 29 in waist, 38 inch chest measured correctly, and weigh about 143 pounds. I am athletically fit. The sizing chart for the size small says 38 chest. When I received the jacket, it was super tight across the chest and under my arm pits. Otherwise, the sleeve length was good and the waist fit well. The size medium size chart says 40 inch chest and it fits well, but the jacket is made for a 34 waist. ? Looks kind of like a skirt it is so big around the waist. I have older Arcteryx jackets which fit me well in size medium. I would encourage Arcteryx to offer a jacket size for fit people. The jackets they are offering now seem to be designed for people large in the middle. Overall. I don't think that my body size is that different vs other fit people my age or younger.

I biught this jacket thinking it could withstand the spring weather of below single digits in SK but did not uphold the expectations. -6 with a breeze and the jacket didn't keep me warm. I would return it if I could. Not worth the price.

The jacket is nice, but the color is much more brown then I was expecting. A little disappointed, but the quality of the jacket is the same great quality I expect from Arcteryx

I recently brought an Atom LT jacket in the new Timelapse colour. The colour is much more green than it looks on the website where it looks more blue so that was a disappointment that what came didn't look like what I ordered based on the website photos. The delivery also came a day later than the UPS notification, I waited in all day only to get another email at 5pm saying it was arriving the next day :( It was also packaged in a box that was probably too small so the jacket has folds/creases that look like they won't drop out. Not a great experience overall, although the jacket is comfortable lightweight and warm

Good light weight jacket for casual wear, do not use for cross country skiing or hiking as this jacket does not breath at all, vigorous activity just builds to a sweaty mess inside the jacket

I've owned many Arc'teryx pieces over the years, and I've generally been very happy with them. I've owned the atom lt jacket for less than four months now, and it is already falling apart. The inner pocket stitching has given way, and now when I put an item in the pocket it falls through the hole, into the insulation of the jacket. This is incredibly frustrating for a brand new jacket, and it makes me question Arc'teryx's manufacturing integrity as they continue to outsource production to countries outside of Canada. I would give this product five stars and recommend it, but I can't do that for a jacket that has issues after minimal urban use. I'm going to contact Arc'teryx directly about the stitching failures, and I'll try to update this review with what their solution is.

I owned this jacket for a couple of years and it performs as advertised. It is one of my favorite , I wore it skiing and hiking and it very comfortable . I wear it almost daily during cold months. jacket is now showing unexpected signs to wear on the collar where it would rub against the neck . Also zipper wont stay zipped up if is done up about chest high . When stretching, the zipper would slide undone. I do expect more for this price range. I did contact Arcteryx and waiting for reply

Great jacket, but over time -- the fabric is starting to peel and the logo came off. I followed the washing directions, but it's not holding up quite as well as I would like. It's still functional though.

I love the feel soft, non-crinkly feel of the outer fabric and how incredibly lightweight and non-bulky it feels. In moderate temperatures it feels warmer than I would expect. However, my body runs cold and it was not nearly enough insulation for a 30-degree ski day with a shell over it and a fleecy layer under it. And since it doesn't have a drawstring at the bottom, cold air flows right into the jacket when wearing it alone. If you want to prevent that from happening, order small and then the stretchy side panels (used for ventilation - nice) will hold the jacket snug to your body. I'm 5'6", thin, broad shoulders and I got M, and a M in whichever Arceryx ski shell I have.

Works as designed. Provides adequate warm in cool weather, but not cold unless either performing activities beyond walking, nothing a shell can't fix. Design issue is the fabric near the chin. If you've got stubble which I imagine many users might, it wears at the fabric, and soon looks like it may even tear it. Other brands I own have addressed this issue. Disappointed that Arc'teryx hasn't on one of their bestsellers. Also own the Camosun which doesn't have such issues. Will inspect this prior to next purchase.

This jacket is a "Trim Fit". I have lots of Arcteryx pieces and all but 1 are size XL. I need an XL for this jacket. Large is too tight across the back and shoulders. The XL fits nicely everywhere except around the belly/waist. It is too big in that area especially for a "Trim Fit". In comparison to the Thorium AR that I have, it fits about the same but the Thorium is a roomier "Athletic Fit". The Thorium AR has an adjustable hem drawcord so that make it fit better. The Atom LT does not have this adjustment. This is not a deal breaker for me. Just be aware that this "Trim Fit" is big around the middle with no draw cord. Also be aware that the "Carbon Copy" colour is not 100% grey like the photos on the website show. The inside is a burgundy/reddish colour that can be seen anytime the jacket isn't zipped all the way to the top (see attached photos). For me that was a deal breaker so I exchanged it for the black version which is black inside and out as shown on the website. For sizing I am 6' tall, with a 33" waist, 44" chest and I weigh 190lbs. I really like the long long arm length of Arcteryx clothes but the waist size versus the rest of the dimensions is off. Climbers, back country campers and skiing are the activities that these clothes are being marketed for. The people who do these activities are in shape and tend not to have large mid-sections.

Would have given a 5 star rating last week...Aboslutely love(d) this thing! I have owned for 2 weeks now. Surprised how light but warm it is. Very versatile. Great in a variety of temperatures. Was disappointed that in the first couple of days of use I got a pick in the coat when my shoulder brushed a concrete wall. Upon closer inspection there was nothing menacing on the wall...the outer material of the jacket does feel quite thin. Because of this, I believe that this jacket would be best suited as a mid-layer under the protection of a shell rather than as a standalone coat. I have a similar Lululemon jacket and while it is not as comfy or breathable, it surprisingly feels more durable.

I bought my last Atom Jacket in 2017. The sales representative told me it had a lifetime warranty. Fast forward to this year when it gets a tear on a walk through the woods. I contacted customer service. Turns out I'm only eligible for 40% off. Not what I understood, but fine, I get it. I replace the Atom with this model (at a fairly steep $ even after discount). What a disappointment. They have obviously cut down on the insulation material from the previous model. At first I thought this was in my head so I wore the torn version out--nope, clearly the new version is not as warm. The new model has replaced the sides with a stretch material which lacks insulation. In addition, the new zipper tabs look and feel like actual garbage. They are a cheap plastic which is not at all the same quality as the previous pulls. I was so impressed with the previous model. It was my go-to for most of year, but now I feel cheated in quality for the cost. In almost every conceivable way the jacket seems like a downgrade. This will be my last purchase from Arcteryx.

I bought the Atom LT Hoody a few years ago and i loved it. It did fit small. I'm a size small in almost everything I purchase but this fit snug and was hard to get layers underneath. fast forward, i decide to buy the LT Jacket in a size medium. Size is much better, but I have had it less than a year (barely even used it due to covid) and it already tearing in multiple spots. very disappointed with the quality especially due to the premium price. local vancouverite and wanted to support a local company, but might be time to go back to patganoia

I borrowed a friend's Atom LT jacket a few years back and loved it. I bought my own based on that experience, however the jacket has since been redesigned so that the side panels are not insulated, allowing wind to tear through the sides, rendering it useless against the cold. On our last hike I had to carry a fleece to wear beneath this one to make sure I was warm. I deeply regret buying this jacket and wish I'd spent my money on another more efficient one. If you want a lightweight jacket that protects you against the cold, buy a different jacket.
