I just bought this for a relative and I am incredibly happy with this purchase. The covert cardigan is very soft and warm. It's sleek design allows it to look professional in the office and in the outdoors!

I have owned this jacket for about 10 months and used it through the winter and spring hiking season. It has held up well, however there has been a lot of pilling on the jacket and it needs to be "shaved" after every 3-4 wash cycles. If you don't care about how worn the jacket looks and just need something functional this is a great option.

I have a Covert full zip which was from a prior season (2018) as well as one that was recently purchased. I am not able to always get Arcteryx gear and fit in person as many stores do not readily stock what I'm looking for. This was a purchase made online based on measurements and my size.
What is unusual about this cardigan is the tight fit of the sleeves and the tight underarm. If I wear the sweater with anything but a thin T shirt, the elbows are far too tight, and the underarms wick moisture occasionally. I'm 6'0", 190 lbs with a 34" arm, and the sleeves cover my knuckles. The body fits okay across the chest, so I would hate to go up a size and have even longer sleeves! Not sure who these sweaters are designed for.
On the positive side, the garment is extremely well made. I don't seem to experience the pilling described in posts here, though I'm also not machine washing the sweater.
Earlier Covert sweaters were wool blend (yes, very high quality), the new versions are woven synthetic facing with liner.
I do see the collar has been redesigned for 2020 to a more cuff-style instead of the older structured panel design. Personally, the new cut looks ordinary and doesn't present as a high end garment. I could compare with other brands, but was advised not to do so. Let's just say it's a disappointment, given the usually high standards from Arcteryx.
I appreciate the high quality of the garments, but a bit of attention to the fit and collar for 'normal' people might be something to consider.

I've collected several of these over the years. I think the Covert suits being a jacket more than a hoody because of its clean straight fit, so in jacket form it can look really quite smart. The Kyanite by contrast is figure-hugging and cuddly, so in my opinion suits being a hoody. The Covert is best as a standalone top piece, rather than for layering under a shell, although I've found it pairs very well with the Cerium LT vest in cold conditions. One request to Arcteryx - I see that the men get an LT version, which looks awesome. Please can we ladies get a Covert LT too? I'm sure many of us would love that! Thank you.

Fit and feel are great, but this product should be recalled as the material started pilling within a few wears (inside only during lockdown and before i washed it) and has only gotten worse. Looks super shabby now. I've been told by Arc'teryx that this is to be expected if i wear it as an outer layer (!) which seems ridiculous.
Like many other recent reviews, my suspicion is cost cutting has lead to an inferior material. Buyer beware!

I love how this sweater keeps me warm, but the amount of pilling on the fabric after each wash is horrendous. I would get it in another colour if it wasn't for the pilling.

Fabric started pilling after one week of wearing. My Patagonia fleece hasn't pulled nearly as much. Customer service tries to claim the pilling is normal and to be expected. Not worth the price. This item should be recalled.

Le tissu intrieur des manches empche le tissu des vtements de glisser facilement l'intrieur. Trs pnible chaque fois qu'on l'enfile que ce soit sur une chemise ou un chandail manche longue.

I discovered the covert cardigan & hoodies two years ago and I now have over 15. Last year, many requested new colors to be brought in lighter colors (loved the yellow & light Titanite from past season!) and I know some requested a light pink & olive green so perhaps the Arbour Heather & Sedna Heather for this season was supposed to satisfy those like me that wanted these colors? If so, it failed for me because they are not the lighter shades that I tend to collect. I wanted more of a lighter heather pink & a light yellow olive green., so please bring more lighter colors (not neon!) such as white, light baby blue, pink & light olive!

Like many of the other reviews mentioned before me, this sweater jacket piles quite a bit. I'm not sure if it's the revised model or an existing issue. Upon my first wash it was somewhat noticeable and each wash after only made it worse. I've begun to mitigate this by washing the jacket inside out.
Also worrying is that the fabric near my elbows seems to be wearing out from leaning on my desk after only a month of use.
That being said, it feels fantastic and far better than say, the Patagonia equivalent, which is why it's disappointing that the exterior fabric isn't holding up that well. If I were able to go back, I'd purchase something else from the ArcTeryx inventory instead.

I was very excited to get this jacket as I did not want to buy into the Patagonia hysteria, but honestly after wearing it for a month & washing it alone with cold water and without fabric softener it has turned into a messy & ugly piece of clothing. Honestly for its poor durability this jacket should be recalled.

I loved this jacket. I am a smaller guy and I was so happy to have a found this handsome jacket that comes in XS -- Then after wearing it for a few weeks in the shoulder season and it started to pill quite terribly. I pretty disappointed because I was so happy to have found this jacket (it breathes well, feels amazing and has great design lines) but now I am disapointed because the pilling is so bad I don't wear it anymore. I have other sweaters that are much cheaper that have held up much better to pilling.

I needed one jacket for a month in South America, so I bought this jacket as my husband has lived in his for 2 years.
To my surprise the on line order fit perfectly. Also the color is not solid black but exactly the charcoal mix with black to be versatile enough to work with my hiking and evening clothes. I look dreadful in solid black.
The first night after 24 hours of flying I was run down and slept in the jacket as the hotel was chilly. Voila it still looked fresh and is now on week 2 of an adventure.
I am new to this product and company, my tried and true Patagonia has met its match.

Wore for just a few weeks and experienced piling in the fabric. Haven't washed it, worn it in a car, or worn a bag over it, so no reason for this to be happening (I have a 10 year old MEC fleece in better condition). Sent it in for warranty service and they just cleaned it up a bit and sent it back over a month later; the piling will be right back after another wear or two. Very disappointing given the premium price.

Got this as a gift and love the fit and the style. Looks good at the office and also out on town. Perhaps a little too heavy for use in the backcountry, but perfect for casual wear.

I have a long torso so finding a good fitting jacket or fleece can be a challenge. This fits great and is perfect for the cool Arizona mornings and evenings.

looks good and great when there is no wind, but when it gets windy the wind seems to be blowing thru every hole within the fabric, especially the arms, this would be perfect if another layer of wind proof material is added..

I have been collecting Arcteryx Covert Jackets & Hoodys for several years now. Each year I look forward to adding more colors to my wardrobe, however, this year unfortunately the new colors are not to my taste. The Sedna Heather & Arbour Heather in particular are too dull and I already have the other colors.
I don't understand why the Men's covert always have these amazing colors and the women's are either way too bright or too dull!
I loved last year's Men's Covert Jacket Yukon & Arun colors. I wished the Yukon was especially brought in for the Women's as well, but instead this year unfortunately I will not be buying any.
Please Arcteryx bring more fun colors to the women's covert jackets & hoodys. Women love these as much as Men and we deserve more fun colors! Would love to see a Hoody in particular in the Yukon color, as well as light baby blue, heather yellow & heather green!
Also, this year's Jacket & Hoody has a strange fit. I am a normal Size 8-10 & Medium in other clothes but for this brand, I always buy a Large and the fit is amazing, however, I purchased the Crystalline Heather and had to return because the color is not a light lavender as originally pictured (more grey) and it was very loose & longer then all the others purchased previously.
