I purchased this fleece last summer and was initially really happy with my purchase. Within only a few weeks very apparent pilling began to show through very minor use, extremely apparent on the underside of the sleeves and zipper area. I did my best to take care of the fleece (never placed in the dryer, washed on cold) but it didn't seem to minimize the pilling. I find this odd as I have a 1/4 zip covert fleece and have no pilling at all.
Overall I still like the sweater and wear it often, but I don't use it in professional settings anymore as it's quite unsightly.

When I think of my favourite outdoor gear brands, Arc'Teryx and Icebreaker are at the top of the list. My Arc'Teryx Cerium LT Hoody is absolutely the best Christmas present my wife ever bought me. Period. And my Icebreaker base layers are equally bulletproof.
My wife bought me the Covert Hoody for Christmas this year and I was excited. The Covert has proven to be stylish and comfortable at home and on dog walks so was keen to take it out on the trail and see if it would stand up to harsher elements and the the backpack grind rubbing that luxuriously soft outer coating. And it did plus providing great protection from the mixed elements typical of Alberta spring. I was happy until I arrived home and my wife told me to throw that jacket in the washer because it stunk. What was fascinating was the Icebreaker base layer I was wearing did not. So it got a thorough wash and dry hang and now I'm just back from another 14 miler with the dog and I got the same response from wife. So now I have a jacket that has to be continually washed after every hard use and to be candid, that's not what I'm looking for. Arc'Teryx advertises this hoody as "Clean, casual technical fleece hoody with versatile wool sweater styling.' But don't be thinking that this jacket shares "smell resistance" with Merino Wool.

I am an evangelist when it comes to Arc'teryx gear. Love everything I own so I didn't hesitate to get the Covert Hoody.
Pros: cozy, can be worn under a jacket, nicely fitted.
Cons: Pilling!! I haven't even washed it and there is already pilling under the arms, a bit on the chest too... not sure how that got there. It's disappointing because it makes the hoodie look worn out.

I washed this sweater once and it started pilling. Low quality. Would've expected this sweater to not pill considering how much I payed for it.

Picked this up at the downtown Vancouver store when I was living there. It's a very comfortable, great fitting and cozy sweater. Unfortunately, the material started to pill very quickly. Just two months after owning it, it was looking in very rough shape. That's with washing it very little and taking extra care when I did wash it (cold water, mild soap, hang dry, etc.). It's impossible to try and pull all the fuzzballs off, but since it's still so warm and cozy I still wear it a lot, just not when I want to have a nice-looking sweater (which is what I was hoping).

bad fabric. couple of hours under a seatbelt and the aggressive pilling starts to no end. now the whole jacket is covered in tiny little fabric balls. No I have not ruined it by washing it improperly. LOL. My wife says it makes me look homeless.LOL. defective fabric should be recalled

La chaqueta de color gris, en la web se ve un gris clarito y en realidad es oscuro...
