Used this jacket for one winter of casual wear and limited wear for climbing. After less than a week of use the following season, the fabric underneath the zipper got caught into the zipper and could not be removed. After days of trying to get it out, the cheap, plastic zipper teeth broke along with the zipper pull tab. I can't believe such a cheaply made, fragile jacket came from Arcteryx. I'll be lookin to other, more durable brands in the future.

I've owned several arcteryx jackets (gamma, beta, kappa, fleeced) and they've been among my favourite. The arcteryx fit is usually great for me as I am a tall and thin. 6' 150lbs I usually where a size small and these are trim around my torso and have good arm length (long enough /sleeves) Had heard nothing but good reviews on this jacket. The small size has a baggy torso and the arms were so short I couldn't bend my elbows. I opted for the medium but it is very baggy and still has short arms for me. I couldn't imagine climbing in this jacket. I'd understand the baggy torso if it was meant to be worn over top of another jacket but it's short sleeves and narrow cuffs wouldn't work well as a shell. I'm sure it would fit a short & stout person really well.

I initially really liked this jacket, even though it was a little too short (size small) for my torso (5' 5", 120 lbs). It was easy to use underneath a shell and provided some light warmth for a cool fall day. When used with additional layers, I could also use it underneath my ski shell for New England skiing/hiking. My gripes with the jacket are that it stains really easily, rips easily, and is sized oddly. With regard to stains, I got some food on the jacket and washed it less than a day later, but the stain remained on the jacket. With regard to rips, the arm got a sizeable rip in the fabric (likely from a tree branch) and Arc'teryx will not repair or refund it under warranty. With regard to size, the jacket is too short and any vest or other garment worn underneath will show through the bottom by an extra couple of inches. However, if you go up a size, the jacket becomes too large to wear. Given the quality of the jacket and the lack of adequate warranty coverage, I'm not sure that I would buy this jacket again. However, I did have good experiences with the jacket before the fabric fell through.

It is 50 degrees and this jacket does not provide adequate warmth. I am warmer with a cashmere sweater and my Marmot prcis jacket. And it's not just me. My husband tried it on and he, too, said he was not warm with this jacket. This is one of my worst purchases. I would not buy this again. I would not recommend it. I am not sure what the rest of the customers received, but the jacket I have I is not as warm as a sweater. I am great,y disappointed, and very cold.

Very nice jacket, but received the wrong color - ordered the dark grey Heron and got a light blue one, which wasn't even one of the color options, so either the photo is wrong or something happened in the shipping process. Sending back.

Good fit, nice and warm. Takes way to long to dry. Used it as a mid layer on an overnight winter hiking trip. It took way to long for it to dry out and was useless on the second day. This is the first garment / piece of equipment from Arc'Teryx that has let me down.

Save you money--don't buy this hoody. Within the first 6 months the zipper snagged on the material and when I pulled it--it was damaged. The material is paper thin--and even brushing against branches rips it. Very poor design and comparable to real quality technical clothing. I wear an ortovox hoody I paid way less for that I bought at the same time way more and it is way better. This has been sitting in a fix it bin for a long time. Lousy. Customer service person said it is wear and tear and it is not a stand alone.

This is the third Atom Hoody I've bought and am SO disappointed. Is this the quality of Arcteryx that I can expect now? The zipper "catches" at the neck, not to the point where the fabric gets caught but does that come later with use? I've purchased over a dozen Arcteryx products for my family over the years and have always been very happy with the products and customer service. I am surprised and saddened by this latest purchase.

I don't understand the positive reviews for this jacket. I find it to have little warmth and it feels like a cheap jacket from an outlet store. The insulation is flimsy and the zippers are ok but don't feel nearly as sturdy as competitors (many who also have two-way zippers). I don't know what I'm missing--I really have tried and wanted to love this jacket but it'll just take up room in my closet. And it's not about the money--I'm happy to spend on a great jacket, it's about quality. I'm in marketing and know all of the Q&A you see in places about "why does Arc'teryx cost so much" and other things that talk about the amazingness of Arc'teryx are extremely likely to have been planted by the brand's communications and digital teams, but maybe it's me. I'm a quality snob and this is just a huge miss in my book.

After just over a month and with no more than 10 light wears my has started to show pulls and pilling and just generally poor wear. Would definitely expect better given the brand reputation and the price.

I bought this a few months ago, but only wore it this season a couple of times. Super disappointed with the quality of this as I've never experienced this with Arcteryx stuff in the past. In the photo you can see the back of the jacket has the fabric pilling so much it looks like it's falling apart. The water resistance is obviously compromised as well. Got this in-person from a store while traveling so I can't even return it to the original store. Pretty disappointed with this potentially defective but otherwise fine product.

I bought the 2021 Time-lapse model to replace my 2019 Atom LT and was dismayed by the fit of it. It was overly baggy around the arms, way too long of a length in the front and unnecessarily longer arms makes for a very clumsy look The previoud 2019 fit was spot on, short enough in the front, boxy enough to layer without looking clumsy

I bought my Atom LT on the outlet store last summer but didn't wear it until the fall. I used it for 30 - 40 hours of backpacking over a two month period, and sporadically on short hikes and while walking my dogs. I had bought a second jacket in the same class as the Atom from a budget brand and only used the Atom when the forecast was calling for high winds due to its amazing hood. Midway through the fall, I noticed the back side of the Atom's zipper garage had begun not only to pill, but appeared to be shriveling up and dissolving (see first picture). I've owned a number of Arc'teryx items and have come to love the brand based on the quality of it's clothing, so I was surprised and disappointed to see the fabric of one of it's signature items fail so quickly. Nevertheless, it didn't seem like a big deal to have a seamstress sew a thin piece of felt on to that area as well as the other parts of the jacket that rubbed against my chin which had also begun to show premature signs of wear. I decided to wait until next spring to have that work done and put the jacket into storage. It got unexpectedly warm and windy this week, so I took the jacket out of storage and noticed, for the first time and to my dismay, that there are two large holes in the insulation in the back of the jacket (see second picture). Shining a light on the jacket revealed that much of the remaining insulation in the back has begun to thin and separate. A detailed inspection also revealed insulation escaping through the stitching (see third picture) and pilling on the brim (see fourth picture). My budget insulated jacket, in contrast, still looks new, despite even more use than the Atom. My Gamma LT, which I always wore over the Atom and the budget jacket, and which I've never been delicate with also still looks new. I will never buy another insulated jacket from Arc'teryx and may turn towards other brands in the future for my high-end, outdoor performance clothing needs.

Super warm, love the fit, but it literally started disintegrating, ripping, and falling apart when exposed to zero abuse. Warranty isn't helpful so I would say save your money, you can probably get a better jacket for less elsewhere

I'm not usually someone who does reviews, but I bought this jacket in the spring, and I wish I had bought something else. My first complaint is that it shows dirt and grime very quickly, the wrists feel like a ribbon material, and the discolouring comes on quickly. I would not recommend having this jacket as a standalone, which is what I was hoping it would be. You need a Gortex cover; otherwise, this hoodie will look dirty and get torn very quickly. Yesterday a spark touched my sleeve, and it burned a massive hole in no time at all. So it's completely ruined now. Save your money and go with something else. If you want a "hoodie," just buy a hoodie, and get a jacket that's more durable than this.

Dear Arcteryx, This was one of my favourite jackets by you. I bought multiple ones, the first one in 2016. They always fit. Unfortunately, the new fit is not good. It is too trim around the shoulders and the hips. It feels constrained when I cross my arms and it is very tight around the hips. My body has not changed. The older versions still fit fine. Worst decision ever is that you shortened the arms. In cycling position the arms go beyond my wrists up. I owe in comparison a new Beta AR, Atom AR, they all became wider and longer, even in the arms. While this was also odd, it is better than trimming everything. I think that change in design is also why you introduced suddenly a women XXL. But do you know, that none of the retailers in Europe have it? What's the point, if you don't force retails to sell as well XXL and potentially XL. In France, often L is the max. size in store. I checked multiple big outdoors shops, none of them have the XXL version. What's the whole point to change such a good jacket that was selling well for so long?! I am sorry, but I don't think I will buy any Atom LT until it changes back. I loved it and planned to by more in other colours, but ain't going to happen.

Material is horrible! I have had this product for one year now. I Only washed the coat one time following all instructions for wash. After the first wash I started noticing a defect in the material around the hood and back of the coat. The picture here is after the second wash

While the jacket is very comfortable, versatile and light the outer layer will get torn very very easily and will not be fixed under the "lifetime warranty". I have only owned this jacket for 3 months and the outer layer got torn! Really bummed at the quality and not at all what i expected for longevity so be aware!
