When this jacket is not soaked in fire smoke from campfires, its my favourite mid layer to wear. Provides great easy warmth.
I do confess it can sometimes feel a little on the bulky side, however it works extremely functionally well except in very vigorous activity.

The jacket itself perfect for layering. Light weight and can still pack into my backpack when I'm not wearing it. The one big disappointment is the colour I got. Picked the Dynasty colour, and really hoping that it would be the same as the website, but it really is off. The colour is ORANGE, very bright orange. All the reviews here for the Dynasty colour is accurate... it's not red at all. It would be nice if the website would reflect how orange it is. With colour being aesthetics and not impacting the use of the jacket, I still rate the jacket great. Paying $$$ for this jacket, I expect it to reflect close to the colour shown.

Let me just start with how much I LOOOOVE this jacket. I've had one for about 5 years. Great for hiking, walking the dog, trail running, or tossing it on for errands. My first one I got about 5 years ago. Started feeling a bit tight so I've been shopping around for a new one. I think I'm between sizes because the small seems too tight in the hips and a bit too short. It's also tight in the bust. The new version also has less flexibility in the side panels. The newer small I could barely breathe in! Settled for the medium but I think it's a tad too big and less flattering. Better to have more room for layering as well. I think the Patagonia down sweater jacket has a better fit for me but is not as great for higher intensity athletic things like running. Second complaint is the new jacket has a waist and elastic cinch which is nice (most of these types of jackets do). However, when cinched there is no place to hide the excess elastic and it just flops around annoyingly. Other jackets like Patagonia hide the elastic pulls in the jacket pockets which is just so smart. I hope they change this in the future. The engineering on the jacket is so sleek otherwise.

I have purchased one of these jackets each year over the past four years. Fabulous mid-weight jacket. Light weight, soft, sheds rain, warm, quality zipper, inside zip pocket. Lifetime best mid-layer or light jacket ever.
One problem - the xxl size is approx 2 inches smaller around the waist in 2019 than in the past several years. I don't fit in the new downsized xxl jacket anymore. Totally heartbroken. Just looked on-line for used LT Atom jackets and don't see much.

This is truly an essential - packs well, lightweight, layers nicely and such a luxurious fabric. When I don't know what to bring and need to pack layers, this is what I reach for. It's the perfect starter piece if you'd like to try an Arc'teryx jacket to see what the hype is about. My only complaint is on sizing - it's a bit short and is cut so it's snug at the hips but large in the chest and shoulders, almost like a men's fit. It's so easy to have sides taken in on something but almost impossible to do the same if the top portion is too large.
I wish this was made in a longer, lifestyle version to provide more lightweight coverage and without the big chest logo so it was more versatile.

Love this jacket! I couldn't believe how warm it kept me compared to how lightweight it is, but it is way too short. It's a few inches shorter than where most t shirts fall, so it's a bit uncomfortable and awkward. It would be a perfect jacket if it was just a little bit longer.

Dommage

After falling in love with my ATOM AR for winter commutes, I figured that the LT would be a natural transition for spring/fall.
The answer is... kind of is. Turns out, I hate those fleece side panels. I know why they are there, but they never seem to push enough heat out, but let lots of wind in. (and it's often windy where I am.) If the coreloft was across the whole garment, we'd have a strong contender as a lighter-weight AR.
Looking forward to trying out the Proton LT. (2019 revised) I mostly use these while commuting and lots of fast-walking. Think the Proton might be the right choice for spring/fall seasons.
I got a large. For me, the fit in the body is fine. I'm 5'8" with ~41" chest. A medium would have been really snug (more like a sweatshirt fit) and not allowed layering underneath.

This jacket never disappoints. It is versatile, can be used in layering, is great for everyday city life in Vancouver, and is lightweight and packable (great for travelling).
Only things I don't like about the jacket is that the zipper can get caught and seems to hit a 'knot' near my chin. Also the area where the jacket hits my chin seems to have a bit of 'fuzz' forming.

DWR wore out after the 2nd wash water doesn't bead anymore. Coreloft not that fluffy anymore too. Still love the jacket I actually own 2.

I had the hardest time finding a jacket for the fall/spring/milder winter temperatures, until I found this jacket! It is quite fitting, warm, and lightweight, and stylish enough with a minimalistic look!
Great buy especially on sale, as it can be quite pricy for regular price!

The jacket, if anything, is sub par perfect for quite different ranges of temperature. I would highly recommend this for someone who lives in a city and needs to wear something quick to go (protect yourself first handedly).
The con I mentioned was bad packaging, it came in a plastic wrap for me which was a bit disappointing as the jacket does cost a fair share but the pros overweight it by a big margin.

Really great mid layer jacket that fits well under the beta shell. Drawstring to pull in the bottom helps ensure a better fit, however it is placed in a weird spot.

Like the jacket. Great fit. Lightweight. Comfortable with good hood fit. Con is similar I would point out for many arcteryx products; limited pocket space. More internal pockets or storage pouch would be welcome. Also for these prices all products that might be used for skiing should include an arm zipper for lift ticket.

I have had my Atom LT for 5 years now. It is a solid standalone jacket or as a layer under a hard shell. My only gripe is on the breathability. For a soft shell, even with the stretchy panels under the armpits, the jacket does not breathe well. I admittedly am a heavy-ish sweater but I have other insulated midlayers/ softshells that breathe better. I have worn this jacket for backcountry ski tours, winter biking, camping, and as an around town jacket. It has become my go to for wet backpacking trips where I'm nervous to bring down. Overall, a versatile layer, but I will explore other more breathable options when I am ready to replace it.

A true workhorse jacket. I first bought this coat 3 years ago and have worn more than any other winter jacket. I recently lost it, and when I replaced it this year (May 2019) was dismayed to find that the design has significantly changed. The stretchy side panels are gone, replaced by material with no give. This means that the fit is less forgiving (and much, much smaller) and it's no longer possible to easily layer sweaters or a fleece underneath. I am so bummed to find that they've adopted a rigid, formfitting cut. I wear this jacket both around town AND for activities (snowshoeing, hiking, etc) because it used to be so comfortable, lightweight, with plenty of flexibility and give.
If you loved this jacket before, be forewarned that is HAS changed, and, at the very least, you'll need to size up.
