Great shoes! Chucks are always a bit flat, but still much better than the regular ones!

I needed a pair of low top sneakers that would look decent with a pair of shorts, and also were comfortable to walk around in for several hours a day. I have two other pairs of Chucks, and despite the relative lack of cushioning I'd found them to be comfortable to wear for long periods of time. I went with the 70s in this instance, though, as I'd read that they had more cushioning than the standard version. This turned out to be a great decision. I wore these shoes daily for a recent three day trip to New Orleans, walking countless steps a day from the morning until well into the evening. Aside from my feet just being generally sore from standing and walking for several hours a day, these shoes were terrific. One item of note regarding sizing. My other two pairs of Chucks are 8.5, but I went with a 9 for these. The reason being that I knew these particular Chucks are known to be a bit more "hearty", so to speak, when it comes to the material used. As a result, I felt it would take longer for them to really wear in. I think I'd made the right choice as I feel these will hold their shape and and fit for a longer period of time. The canvas is heavier duty than regular Chucks, and the sole is more dense. With the standard version I've gone with the 8.5 knowing that they'll stretch out a bit. Ok, what else.....the look is great. The laces and lace eyelets are a better quality than the standard shoes. Overall, it's basically a better version of the standard shoe. I'd definitely get another pair.

I wore Chucks when I was a kid and in high school (I'm 55 now), so I was pleased when I got these. They have more cushion than what I remember. I ordered sz. 15 (my size in other shoes) but they were way too big. Got a pair of 14's and they fit great. Zappos return policy is simple and painless. I love these shoes and I love this store!

These chuck taylor sucks! The insoles doesn’t have cushion or arc support. Also they are really narrow. Particularly in the front.

I ordered a half size smaller than my normal size and it fits just right. It takes some breaking in time. Definitely had to wear socks with them b/c the back seam would rub against the back of my foot. Love the parchment color which looks beige.

I was in the market for a convers chuck taylor ii. unfortunately, they are not in production anymore. I can't stand the original chuck taylor because of it's lack of cushion on the insole. This version is in the middle between the chuck taylor original and the chuck taylor ii. But still not enough cushion on the insole to spend a day in town.

These are the most comfortable chuck i've ever had! The insoles are much thicker and softer comparing to the regular ones. Love the colour!

I have long, narrow feet, so the All Star shoe is perfect as it runs narrow in the bigger sizes. Always order this brand a half-size smaller than your size, as they run large. It is worth spending $20 or $30 more to get this style, the '70 Ox, for arch support and more cushioning than the regular All Star. The navy color is nice. I'm very pleased with this shoe.

Moderately long-time chuck wearer...at 51, I didn't get started until about 10 years ago or so :) In short, these are quite a step up (no pun intended) from the normal chuck. Looks-wise, love the off-white and shiny material. The canvas feels sturdier/stiffer than the normal chuck--if you take them off, they hold their shape. That is not to say they are "stiff" as in uncomfortable. The footbed is the most obvious difference, it is thick and offers cushion. Of course, you can buy something for the regular ones, but these were instantly more comfortable out of the box. I've only had them two days, wore them to work both days, and they started out comfy and are getting more so as they "break in" just a bit. I will say they feel just a tad larger than the regular, but that works well for me since I have wide-at-the-toes paddle feet and shoes typically pinch my pinkie toes even if they fit everywhere else. Time will tell but I think these are a winner and well worth the extra cost over the regular chucks, especially considered over the span of years :)

These run a full size larger than classic Converse. Ordered the size I’ve always worn and had to return for next size down. Thanks to Zappos amazing overnight shipping and easy return policy we had the right size the next day.

Converse hit it out of the park with these. The Converse Chuck 70 is like a heavy duty version of the standard All Star. There are a few aesthetic differences, namely the throwback logo on the heel and the "player name" stamp on the inside of the tongue. However, the differences in build quality are even more noticeable. The canvas is thicker and heavier with an extra layer in the toe area, there is much more cushioning and support underfoot, the rand is taller and is varnished to offer more coverage and protection and the sole is one solid piece of thicker rubber. Overall, the Chuck 70 feels much more like a modern athletic sneaker than the standard All Star, while maintaining the classic look of vintage Converse. I was amazed at how much more substantial and supportive they felt vs my All Stars. And I think they look better as well. I found the Chuck 70 fits best when ordering a half size smaller than my usual sneaker size (9.5 instead of my normal 10). That is the case with my standard All Star sneakers as well. Having a relatively wide foot, the toe box feels slighter more snug than I would prefer (also the experienced with my All Stars), but they are not tight to the point of being uncomfortable. Overall, I would highly recommend the Chuck 70 to anyone who likes the look of Converse All Stars. I feel that the Chuck 70 beats the All Star in every way and are definitely worth the extra cost. As long as Converse keeps offering the Chuck 70 I will never buy another pair of standard All Stars.

I have always worn the traditional Chuck Taylor that is much less expensive. I decided to take a chance on the more expensive version and it was definitely worth it. Way better insole, arch support and cushioning.

This is better than core Chucks, but not as nice as the former Chuck II insoles. And the rubber is shiny. Can’t decide if it’s great or ugly.

Love these! I wore old USA Made All Stars from the 80s and 90s - these do a very good job of nailing the true vibe. No arch support but the insoles are much more comfortable and your feet sink in a bit at the heel and ball of the foot. So it sort of creates an arch, like with malleable leather insoles.

Great classic look, run about a half to a full size larger than normal Converse All Stars. definitely feet sturdier and offer more cushioning than standard All Stars. Still quite narrow for a sneaker.

Typically wear women’s size 6 but ordered a full size down. The length and width fit well. The toe box is slightly more snug than Core Ox so if you typically wear wider sizes, than go down by ½ size. The padding is noticeably thicker than the Core Ox style. The heel is a bit loose for me but I plan to buy heel pads so it won’t rub the back of my ankle.

Look great, feel great. Definitely go a half size smaller. The standard width is a tad on the narrow side but loosen the laces just a bit and there’s even plenty of room for arch support inserts for older hipsters like myself!!

I love these Chucks! Longtime fan diggin’ this new Sunflower color. These new 70 Ox are the most comfortable Chucks I’ve purchased in years. The Zappos web page notes that these run ½ size larger but I found them to be a full size larger. When I received them though my true size was sold out. I added supports and a pair of Bomba cushioned no show socks and all is good!

I bought these for my husband's birthday after reading the glowing reviews. Over the years I've bought several Chuck's and he still gets compliments. These are exactly as described! Excellent quality, heavier and more substantial canvas, better quality sole, softer insole. Chose the dark burgundy. Actually, this is a beautiful rich wine color, looks even better in person. There are no brown undertones as in some shades of burgundy. He wears 11.5 in other shoes, but wears size 11 in Converse. Perfect fit. He hopes Zappos will expand the choice of colors in this '70 ox!
