By far the best Chuck Taylors ever! Purchased these to wear while riding my Harley and they have certainly held up well. They are much more comfortable than regular Chucks and are more solid. The fit is as with all Chucks (IMO) one half size too large. The only reason for 4 stars is the heavy duty laces broke in my hand after a few months of light wear. Zappos went out of their way (as always) to make it right!

Compared to regular Chucks, the big differences are double thickness on the canvas (enough that the uppers easily stand up on their own when empty) and some additional reinforcing canvas patches on the inside. They do replicate a few features of the 1970s shoes like the style of the toe cap and foxing, but they also have some anachronistic details (like the stitching color and a modern heel patch) that make them a unique style rather than an actual replica. The thicker canvas does make these shoes more durable and increases the ankle support, unlike the virtually paper-thin modern shoes. The one downside that brings them down a star is the laces. The laces are a good 10 inches longer than what come with typical shoes, which makes tying them in a bow or wrapping them around your ankle mandatory to avoid extremely long loops or ends that are stepped on and dirtied. They're nice cotton instead of nylon, but still too long.

I purchased the item in April of 2016, in a cream color high top and a size 8 in womens. They were exactly true to size and I am very happy with them! Being a light color, I was worried that the shoes would get dirty quick, but with a little maintenance they still look new! The shoes are so cute and casual, and they look good with pretty much anything (even dresses!). They don't really have any arch support so I wouldn't recommend wearing them if you are doing a lot of walking. Overall, they are a classic shoe and I would definitely purchase them in more colors!

These run so small. But they also lasted me years. Thanks chuck

Oh. My. Goddess. I wrote Chuck Taylors as a little girl, and they had zero support for my nearly flat feet. These??? These have so much cushion and they’re so so so comfortable. I LOVE these sneakers. I will from here on out, always have a pair of these. They go with all my pants. I can walk for hours and hours and I still feel cushioned and supported. I love these sneakers so much that I take such good care of them, they look brand new. I never wear them in rain or muck. I make sure I only wear them on pavement on sunny days, because I love them!!

If I hover between a 10.5-11, this sneaker is a 10.5 on me. But it's not wildly oversized or anything, the 10 would be too small. Great shoe, I swore I'd never buy another pair of standard Chucks because they're such a dumb shoe outside of the classic look. This isn't a major improvement, but definitely enough in the areas that matter where I look forward to wearing them.

I would have given the shoe a 5 in comfort but the insole felt as if it had some wafers in it. I'm a big guy and some might know right away. I do realize it is new, so I should give it some time.

I love my '70 HI's. A little more work could be done on the inner sole. It seems to be lumpy in spots. Over all they are very well made.

Very comfortable, good grip, would re-purchase this exact shoe again.

Buy a half size smaller as usual.

Everything about the Chuck 70 is good. Worn a lot of Chuck Taylor All Stars in the 60s and 70s and these just bring back good memories. Much better than the lower price All star. Highly recommend

Loveeee these shoes. Converse does a run a size big so I got a M3/W5 and notmally wear a 6W. They fit perfectly!

Fit, style, and comfort are all fine. I've never liked brightly colored, high-tech running shoes; they look and feel like undignified marshmallows. I wore them when I was required to run or participate in some form of athletic activity, but I feel solid, at ease, and grounded in a brand-new pair of high-top black Chucks with black laces.

Just like the Ol’ days. Nice support & cushioning. Go with basic Chuck Taylor’s for gym training. “‘70’s” for basketball and casual wear. Order a 1/2 size down for either.

Happy with my purchase. Shoes arrived in a timely manner. The fit is perfect. I am 68 years old. Putting the shoes on for the first time in years took me back to Jr. High School basketball. Converse All Stars have been around since 1917. Love the '70s' with the extra cushion.

Size is a half size larger. I usually wear size 12 but ordered these at 11.5...canvas is thick and inspire durability

I usually wear a 12 in sneakers but adhered to sizing instructions to buy a half size smaller which I did. I purchased 11.5 Chuck Taylors. I like the canvas for the summer months and the style will always be.

The material is thicker so if your used to wearing no socks it will cut up your feet unlike the version with thinner material. But they are nice and strong and have real rubber on the bottom
