This shoe is, hands down, the most comfortable shoe in my closet after my well-cushioned sports shoes. I'm a girly girl: I'd prefer a 3-inch heel in cherry red patent leather. That s how I want to look when I go down the street. But the facts are, I m nearly 60, have bunions, and fractured the ball of my foot two years ago because of osteopenia, precursor to osteoporosis. So the 3-inch heels are a thing of the past because they cause the old fracture to throb. Now I m looking more seriously at shoes that are comfortable, soft, stylish, and have a low heel. I bought the Clarissa because I needed a go-to black walking shoe, the kind of thing you d slip on in the morning for a whole day of shopping at the mall, in particular something to wear with slacks. Until I found this shoe, I was wearing my big, clunky-but-comfortable men s sports shoes because of the large toe box. I wear a 10 WW, and few women s sports shoes off the shelf are wide enough for comfort. But I got tired of wearing sports shoes with every outfit. Hence I went looking for a comfortable walking shoe that is sleeker than lace-ups. Clarissa is frankly amazing. It s lightweight, it s soft, the heel is low enough to keep the pressure off the fractured front portion of my foot, it slips on easily because of the little zipper, it looks good (not cherry-patent-leather-sexy good, but attractive), and you can go ALL DAY and never think about your feet. Went shopping with my grown daughter last Saturday. We went 12 different places, a long drawn-out shopping day, and when I got home, it occurred to me that not once all day had I thought about my feet. No fatigue, no pain, no swelling, no pinching nothing. Bliss. I ordered my size and the fit is perfect. In fact, I got online today to order the same shoe in another color.

This shoe is very comfortable. I also ordered the Merrell Dassie Buckle and the Clarks Ashland Alpine. All in an 11 medium. This shoe is narrower, but still fits nicely, with no socks or with tights. The Clarks fits well with heavier socks. The Merrell is much wider, and the inside is rough so it is hard to get on with a pair of socks. I returned the Merrell but kept this pair and the Clarks.

I bought these shoes for work as I am always on the look out for comfortable yet stylish shoes to work in. I spend a lot of my day on my feet (I'm a teacher) and these fit the bill exactly. I particularly liked the fact that I could get them in a wide width as my feet are, well, "fat." They are lovely on and I didn't have to break them in before wearing for a whole day. I'm thinking of buying at least one more color in them.

Daughter loved these shoes...the fit, the style, the price...everything. I gave a top-notch review. However, after only 2 mos of wearing to her office job (no rough treatment) the "leather" is peeling badly on the toes. Is this widespread or a single-pair defect? At any rate, updating our opinion, with regret.

I bought this shoe in 7N. the leather is very soft and with the zipper expands as day goes on and your feet normally swell. Having the zipper allows you to adjust for swelling. It is fashionable enough to wear with dress slacks yet looks good with pair of Levi's.

Would have loved the fit and look of this shoe, but no way to add metatarsal support I need because the insole is not removable.

Terribly disappointed. I used to LOVE Naturalizer shoes. They were comfortable and great quality. The “leather” on the toe of these shoes wore off in less than 2 months. I embarrassed to wear them. Awful quality. Total waste of money.

I purchased these to wear with jeans. Because I wanted to wear socks with them, I wasn't sure whether or not to size up. Finally, I decided on the black in a 7.5 Wide. That was up half a size for the socks. They are extremely comfortable, cushiony and feel good in the length, width and support wise. If you won't be wearing socks, order your usual size. They did not require any break-in time either. Very happy with them.

This is my second pair. Since these shoes are so comfortable I wanted a spare pair. The leather is very soft and the shoe feels like wearing slippers. I wear these mainly for work and having them on all day never bothered my feet.

Love these shoes! I ordered them in blue and it goes great with jeans. After reading some reviews I ordered a wider size than I usually get but they were too wide - slipped off my heels so I returned them and ordered my regular width. I've worn them several times and they are quite comfortable.i love Zappos - the service is incredible and the selection in my size is great.

Comfortable after wearing a week. Felt a bit narrower at first. Did not need to unzip to put on. Rubber sole very noisy on some types of commercial flooring.

Not really a "Coffee Bean" brown and insoles are short. Items bought: Women's Size 11W in Coffee Bean color, and also one pair in Black 1) Fit: so far, so good. But there are no arch support at all. I have been wearing the Coffee Bean pair around the house today to make sure the Wide size allows for me to use my custom orthotic inserts. (I used to wear 11M until ankle/foot surgery and now need orthotics.) So, yes, the full sole orthopedic inserts fit inside the 11W and has enough room for my thin dress socks. The no arch-support tis not an issue for me, since I am using orthopedic inserts,. Other customers may find that this is a problem. 2) Color: I am VERY disappointed in the color of the Coffee Bean pair. The image on the site is called Coffee Bean and appears on my computer screen (and on my smartphone) to be a dark reddish-brown, which was what I had wanted to go with the business suit to wear to the job interview tomorrow. In actuality, the shoes are more of a cafe latte or dark tan color, with a yellow undertone, than "coffee bean." (So, I will use instead the black pair that I bought at the same time as these.) (The black pair is black...not issues.) (See image of comparison.) 3) Insoles: As a point of note, the insoles in both pairs are trimmed about 1/4 inch too short for the shoes. (Luckily, I do not need the insoles since my intent is remove the insoles and use my orthopedic inserts. So, that is not an issue.) Also note that the hand-trimmed insoles are rather coarsely done. I know, people do not normally see the cut edges when the shoes are worn, but it was rather surprising to see such a rough cut-out on Naturalizer shoes. Same problem with the insoles in the black pair. (See the frayed-looking edges at the toes of the insoles in the image.) 4) I do really like the design of the shoes, with the stretchy elastic on the side and the zipper....it makes for quick and easy dressing. 5) Durability: To be determined. They look well-made, overall and I hope they will hold up as well as my other Naturalizer shoes.

Here's the problem with Naturalizer: They look good, they feel comfortable, you think you've really got a "keeper." And then the leather scrapes off at the first contact with the actual world. You know, the world that your shoes touch unless you creep around on carpet alone? Yeah, that world. I didn't buy these shoes but I bought similar ones and had the same problem that Cheryl T. from Texas had: did not last even a couple months! I still wear them but I pretend they don't look 5 years old.... I don't think Zappos would take a return as it's been to long (and I didn't get around to it when I could/should have), but I came back to warn everyone else about this company whose quality has gone down the drain.

I really liked the style of this show and they are very very comfortable. However, I have also had the “leather” peel off the toes of these shoes. So embarrassing when you are at work (office) and people look at flakes of material hanging off the toes of your shoes. I purchased these in the summer, but started wearing them last month! I would not recommend these shoes. Very dissatisfied.

This is my second pair of this shoe. Purchased in Navy and again in gray. After wearing my Navy pair on a marathon shopping day, I knew I needed to get another pair. Very comfortable; no pinching, no rubbing, perfect fit. I have a difficult time finding the perfect fit of shoe because my "flat" feet and my narrow heels. These are my "perfect" fit. I wore these shoes without using any additional arch support, something I do regularly with most shoes.

I ordered the blue instead of black because they are out of the black in my size. Unfortunately this is not a very dark navy, so I might not keep them. The color would be a challenge for my wardrobe. However, I like these shoes and they are a good fit overall for my WW feet! That is not easy. I have ordered many shoes from Zappos trying to find a simple loafer with some arch support that is wide.

These are tts and comfortable right out of the box. Lots of room in the toe box without being "clownish". They will be my go to shoe at home, but they also look good to wear out.

I have this shoe in black. It fits true to size and is very comfortable. I love changing up the look with fun socks. I might get the brown pair. I actually bought these in New Orleans on Canal Street. I tried them on but then decided not to buy them. Then when I walked out, I saw someone wearing a similar style, and I thought they looked really good. So I turned around and went back in a bought them. So glad I did.

I am extremely disappointed with these shoes. After wearing only a few times, the shoes were completely stretched out and offered no support at all, which resulted in really sore feet. I cannot wear these shoes at all. Extremely disappointing, and a waste of money.

Great basic everyday shoe. I have narrow feet, and the narrow width was perfect - secure without pinching and relaxed without falling off. Reasonably priced too (less than half the price of the Monroe Americans I ordered alongside them).

I have been wearing these shoes several days a week for a year now. I wear them generally with black pants in a professional setting, and occasionally with black tights and skirts. The toe box is not quite big enough and my little toes rub, but I like the shoes in so many ways I put up with it. They feel -- oh I'm not sure how to describe this--- agile I think is the best word. I feel like I can zip around in them. The quality is good. The shoes are showing some signs of wear after a year even though I don't wear them outdoors in inclement weather. But the zippers have held up well and that is remarkable.

I have a short, wide foot with high instep. This Naturalizer fit PERFECTLY whereas Munro Berkley was too tight over my arch. I was surprised, because I have many Munro shoes, and have avoided Naturalizer in the past. My feet feel SUPPORTED and ready to walk miles while traveling!

I have to admit that I do not think that these shoes are particularly cute. However, they are extremely comfortable, so I wear them all the time. I stand and walk all day for my job, and I was able to wear these for a full day of work straight out of the box. I don't have any serious complaints, but here are two things I didn't know when I purchased these shoes that might matter more to others: first, the color is a yellow-y brown. To me, they looked more reddish brown in the photo, but in real life they're definitely yellow-y. And second, sometimes, with some socks, the lining of these shoes pulls my socks down throughout the day. So the heel of my sock ends up mid-arch under my foot. It's mildly annoying to me, and might change with some wear. I just avoid those sock and shoe combinations, but other people might find that more inconvenient than is worthwhile.
