Do you ever find yourself wearing flip flops somewhere that they are not welcome (family activities, random dance parties, etc.) these will allow you to do the same "flip flop" activities with a flip flop that won't jump ship.

The between the toes strap make it the most stable flip flop/sandal you make.
I doubt there are dozens that still have the 1984 model. Mine shreaded about 10 years ago after several repairs. I'm very glad to see them back in your line. They are great for light trail hikes.

Well made, comfortable. Certain prints are unisex, and really cute. Have been wearing them everyday since I bought them. I hope Teva continues to manufacture this style, and also make a exclusively womens version as well.

Bought these for my upcoming trip to SE Asia. Love the style. Not as dorky as the more common styles. Wish they had more color options but still great.

The strap over the toes is the wrong size for my foot. Since there is no adjustability there, these shoes will sit in a drawer until they are sold cheap at a garage sale.
On the bright side, they weren't as expensive as most of them are so the loss is less.

while I like the simple concept and light weight, the ankle strap seem to low on the front which end up causing the strap to "bend"

These caused blisters from rubbing on the area above my big toe. Fun shoe, but not as useful as the usual Tevas.

soft sole but pretty plain. if i really taxed these the front would likely come off my feet.

The size 11 doesn't have enough room for my instep; the size 12 has FAR too much sandal beyond my toes-- like maybe a full inch! I'll stick with the original universal in future.

I've been trying to find a pair of these up here in Canada. Men's are hard to find. That might be why a lot of people find they are small and tight...they are unknowingly trying on a women's sandal. I used to have a pair of these and they were great. Right out of the box I threw them on to catch the bus one morning...worst possible day to wear them...I had to cross a 4 lane road that was being repaved with fresh, very hot asphalt. I was so glad to have the ankle strap as trying to scramble across 300 degree soft asphalt with your feet sinking in with every step would have been no fun in loose flip flops...probably would have had to walk really slow to keep them from getting stuck and being pulled off. As it was my feet were begging for mercy by the third step. No damage to my sandals, but they were so hot I had to wait quite a while before I could touch the soles to scrape off the asphalt that stuck. My original pair lasted 3 years. Really want another pair!

This is close to the orginal. I had three pairs in the early years. I work on a farm and wore them all summer long. I really like them. Got them over 20 years ago. I bought a pair last year
they are close but not like orginal, not as thick
sole and the ankle strap is not as good

The right sandal three point hitch is to tight, it will take some breaking in to get use to this... Left sandal is okay.

Teva should consider making it a little wider or with adjustable straps, I am pretty sure it would sell more, it is a nice looking sandal

I had an original pair of these and have waited for years for Teva to bring back this design. I wore them as a lifeguard and through college year round until they wore out after 3 years. So now Imagine my disappointment when I received and tried them on for the first time. The flop itself is was extremely thin and flimsy and offered no support. The thong straps were narrow and felt like they would not properly anchor my foot when walking especially on uneven terrain. The ankle strap did not reach high enough on my ankle and the Velcro barely secured around my ankle. This is the sandal that sold me on the Teva brand over 20 years ago so yes I am extremely disappointed about the direction this once fine company had.

I purchased 4 pairs of TEVA men's "original" sandals MODEL: 1004004
approximately 10 years ago and they have lasted that many years...approx. 2 years of hiking and river running per pair.
My last pair is brand new and in excellent condition.
I just purchased 4 additional pairs to replace my previous.
I was disappointed when I compared the new pairs with my previous pairs.
Overall, the new pairs are not as sturdy as the previous
Please note the comparison
Previous Current
Heel thickness 1" Heel thickness 7/8th "
Toe Thickness 5/8th" Toe Thickness 1/2"
Maximum Width 4 " Maximum Width 4 "
Ankle strap double Ankle strap single
I AM DISAPPOINTED BECAUSE IT APPEARS THAT THE CURRENT MODEL, ALTHOUGH SIMILAR TO THE OLDER MODEL, HAS NOT BEEN CONSTRUCTED TO THE PREVIOUS HIGHER STANDARDS OF THICKNESS, STURDINESS AND DURABILITY.

Just wanted a pair of lightweight outdoor sandals as an alternative to my Chacos. These are light and stylish, however the toe strap is almost in the middle of the footbed, so you foot hangs off the side. It's even different between the left and right shoes so could be a defect. The straps are very tight too.
Have emailed Teva UK as they were bought direct, but have had no response. Want to return them, but have no returns form. Unless I hear soon, I'll just request a PayPal refund.
Shame really, as I was looking forward to wearing these for camping.

I bought these HOPING they would be compariable to the originals I lost some 20 yrs ago, but not at all. First the right sandal toe strap cuts into my foot. Second the sole is thinner than the original. Third the ankle strap isn't as robust as the original, its thinner and the velcro doesnt hold too well with just normal walking. The originals were confident inspiring, these replicas are far short from that bar. I'll keep them for lounging about but for serious outdoor use, look else were. Sorry Teva, cant say its the same except for the color

This particular model of the Teva Originals seem smaller that the Teva Originals I purchased four years ago. The back/heel straps have a simpler design but the thong strap is tight and the soles seem narrower. I thought that I was sent a womens size by mistake but both the box and sandal straps had mens size 9 printed on them. I really like these sandals since they're flip flops without the flipping and flopping but I hope that Teva make some tweaks to next years model.

BEWARE, THE SANDALS ARE NOT BLACK. THEY ARE A NAVY BLUE. ALL THE IMAGES ON THE TEVA WEBSITE FOR THE GRAND CANYON EDITION HAVE A BLACK SOLE. THIS IS VERY MISLEADING. MAYBE INSTEAD OF HAVING A COLOR NAME OF "GC100 BOOMRANG", TEVA SHOULD JUST WRITE "BLUE" OR "BLACK". VERY DISAPPOINTED AND WILL BE RETURNING SANDALS.
DISAPPOINTED I,

Ankle wrap is not very big. For those with larger ankles beware. Big toe side of the thong for people with small big toes.
