Thanks to a review I read I decided to get a pair. Very nice and comfortable. Great price now let's see how long they last.

Never leave home without them, and when available (there was a time these were not being made) I always buy more than 1 pair, always.

Am wanting a new pair of these. I used to have a pair when they first came out a few years back. Mine lasted 8 years. By then the sole was worn smooth and the Velcro had long since stopped working...I held them with the rubber retainer rings the sandals used to come with. Right out of the box I wore mine to catch a bus. Worst possible day to wear them...had to cross a 4 lane street that was being repaved with really hot soft asphalt. I was so glad I had worn sandals with an ankle strap! Couldn't imagine trying to walk across 300 degree asphalt in flip flops. My feet sank in a bit with each step so my toes and the sides of my feet were closer than I wanted to the molten mess. By the time I hotstepped across I couldn't even touch the soles of my sandals. After they cooled and I picked off the bits of asphalt and rocks that stuck, they were still good as new. Full marks for durability.

Unfortunately too narrow for me and the straps rub a sensitive part of my foot. But they are otherwise comfortable and the the price and design are great.

All great designs come back in some form ! I was involved in White Water Rescue for many where I learned off the Teva. They would stay on in all conditions. (The between the toe your model 1004004) I lived in Baja California for the last 20 years . They were my goto, water shoe daily ! I had purchase several pair of the original Teva in the 80's. When they were no longer available I had them resoled /made new straps / I even had a shoe repair man put "topsider" soles on several pair( that I ha worn out) for use on boat decks . I kept 2 pair alive until 2011 . Now I can by new ones ! GREAT Thank You Doug

Great for walking water, driving isn't dangerous as these won't slip off your feet while driving whereas flip flops do have that tendency and could cause,an accident.

I do not even comprehend the one other review for these sandals. However, it is true that these shoe may be designed for those with narrow to normal feet that are not too wide. If that is the case, though, these shoes are extremely comfortable, light and durable. Where I live (in the mountains of North Carolina), Chaco is always the adventure shoes of choice, which I do not understand at all. Chacos soles weigh nearly a pound a piece, and have almost non-existent flexibility - making them heavy and uncomfortable to walk in for long periods of time. Teva, on the other hand, is lightweight, flexible and has an overall much more comfortable design. And they are less than half the price - yet I have never seen them in a brick and mortar store where I live. I am on the fence about the aesthetics of Teva. All of the new colors and combinations are certainly a style upgrade from the originals, but I am not sure it makes them stylish. But I do not find them offensive or ugly either. These are far more comfortable and practical than flip-flops - more durable, too. They are also a fantastic value at this price.

There are so many reasons why these are the best designed river sandal. The thong between the toe provides so much more control and stability. I was a little disappointed that the sizing is a little different. I am a size 9.5 shoe, I like them small so not to trip on the front of the sandal when running down a cobblestone beach, my old originals are all size 8. These size 8's are at least a 1/2 longer.

This is probable the most comfortable sandal I've ever owned. It's super light, comfortable and has a solid feel when you wear it. I highly recommend this to anyone who loves to walk around with style. I'm looking forward to wear this gem on many future adventures!

Love that you guys brought these back. Bought my first pair of these from Mark himself in Flagstaff AZ around 1985-6. He used to sell these out of the back of his car. He always had a couple garbage bags full of them...lol. Takes me back. Simple, light and effective. If you want a great all terrain sandal that's does what it needs to do minus the flash, these are the saddles for you! New school is not always better. Sometimes it was better the first time around. :-)

I started wearing these sandals when Teva first made them. They were not only comfortable but stylish and long wearing. I love the way they fit my foot and make it look a bit slimmer than the ones that cross over the foot and make it look too wide. I was so happy when they started making them again. I instantly bought a pair and am planning on on buying another one very soon. Please don't stop making them ever again.

I bought my first (and second) pair in the mid 80's. I just now had to replace them (2013)and I wore the them to death. These are my preffered footwear when the weather allows. The ankle strap is the best part of this sandal (flippy). I normally have the strap open, folded back over on itself to form a 'half-pocket' that the forward part of my ankle rests into when I slide my foot into them. When the activity dictates it I wrap the strap around my ankle to secure the flippy, like skydiving, running, ...etc. The second best feature is the 'flip-flop' style between-the-toe-strap as opposed to the straps that go across the foot. This type of strap prevents your foot from sliding forward during hard stops, while the across the foot straps do not. greatest flippy/sandal ever made. Thanks

Thrilled to see the acutal original sandal available once again. Simple, stylish, comforatable and not overly tech'd out. I only wish (since they are not available in women's) that they would offer it in one size smaller that Men's 7.

Always loved this style. I was a whitewater guide back in the 80s and this is when the Tevas first came out. They were great! Love the simplicity of them and the thong/ ankle strap. We always switched the ankle strap around and then as sand got in the velcro, put a bread tie on them. Great memories (I still paddle) so when I saw these come around again, I jumped on them. Get lots of comliments on them. They rock! Not sure it is the same footbed material or not though but still they are comfy.

Great flip flop. I love how the ankle strap keeps this on your foot. Kinda dig the retro style too.

But cannot bear how this is listed. Is it in production? Female? Male? Unisex? The original? What's the deal? And can't you figure it out and communicate it clearly? It's been 30 plus years. Get a grip Teva. Then maybe when people ask me where to get a pair I can stop this rant.

I'm a woman but ordered these in the hopes that they would be wider than the women's version. While the footbed was wide enough for my foot, I couldn't even start to get my foot through the thong straps - way too narrow. Otherwise, I think I really would have liked them if I could get my foot in it. I tried the other style with the strap that goes across the foot, and since that is adjustable with velcro, it was fine. Super comfortable.

I AM NOT A FAN OF TEVA. Since the bought out ALPS sandals and then discontinued them, I vowed to never buy TEVA again. That being said, I love these sandals. I saw that they had brought back this original model and had to give it a shot. So, I give the sandals 4 stars but do it begrudgingly.

I am concerned that the velcro closure on the back/ankle strap will wear out as it has to be opened and closed each time you take the sandal on or off. I think an adjustable sliding type (buckle?) of adjuster would be easier and last longer.

I am among the many who are happy to see the original back in production. I had a pair I got in '87, and wore them until they were tattered. On the new pair, the right foot seems smaller than the left, and the ankle straps are a little too short, but for scrambling in and out of a boat, or on the river, they are still great.

A friend recommended me these sandals, and I thought they looked really cool so I picked up a pair. I really appreciated the sizing measurements that they have available online, and the sandals I ordered were very true to that size. The only complaint I have is that I have high arches, so the straps are a little tight on me, but they are getting better as I wear the sandal in a little bit more.
