I purchased these sandals to wear with a bridesmaid dress in a wedding two weeks ago and basically have not stopped wearing them until this past weekend when a strap broke off in the middle of the day. I was very upset as I really find these sandals to be comfortable and supportive compared to most flat sandals on the market today. The leather sole also molded very well to my feet. The gold also matched perfectly and I preferred this gold over the other gold color available on some other born sandal styles right now. One thing I do want to point out is that after a week the gold on the sandal started fading into a blue/silver color that made me it look like the gold was painted on and chipped right off the sandal. Not a great look but I had planned on keeping the sandals anyway until they broke which was the last straw. I have contact customer service and hope to return these and find a new pair of gold sandals ASAP.

Background: I generally love Born and I don't generally have sensitive feet. I'm also very careful about slowly wearing in a pair. But these sandals caused a very deep and distinct bruise on the ball of my foot. My husband and I were astounded having never even considered a person could have a bruise there. I was sure a foreign object must have been lodged in the sole or accidentally been placed between the layers but you can't feel anything specific there. Somehow it's just the design, as another commenter wrote. It's unfortunate: great price, great look, great straps for city living... I'm heartily bummed.

I wish I'd pay better attention to the reviews that talked about the back strap being too long. That was the case for me; even on the last hole they came right off my feet. They're cute and I like the silver color, but they are unwearable.

I had the highest of hopes for these sandals. I did extensive research on what were to be THE go-to sandals for this summer, and probably a few summers to come. I tried them on in person a few times before actually ordering via Zappos. They are beautiful sandals, and as others say, perfectly comfortable to wear right out of the box. However, I wore them for a short walk on the first day I had them, and the strap between the toes ripped, almost like it was severed. Zappos has amazing customer service, so returning them is a breeze. Can't decide if it was a fluke and I should give them another go. Not sure that an $85 pair of sandals should break the first time you wear them.

These sandals look great but really aren't very comfortable. The sole is just too thin. I don't think the quality matches the price. Returned.

These just looked poor quality and worn. I ordered these in Panna Cotta (silver). They appear slightly silver due to the grey leather showing on the sides of the straps and in between what looks like painted on gold. They look like someone's years old gold sandals they can't part with. Also the straps where the buckle is felt incredibly thin. I was honestly afraid I would rip it. I would not recommend these, especially for this price.

I've tried to fit into the 11's with no luck--is there some reason Born is afraid to make a women's sandal in size 12? so many other companies do.

These were very loose at the top, above the ball of the foot they were a wee bit wide. The length was fine.

I wanted to like this shoe!! It is very, very cute. Really great colors, and didn't feel like the normal "cardboard" sandal. But, the little part in the middle of the toe KILLED me. So uncomfortable. I could not wear it.

This sandal is only offered in full sizes which is the problem. I have older Born sandals in size 6 that fit perfectly, so I ordered a size 6. I normally wear a size 6 1/2, which is the size of my Born boots and wedge or heeled shoes. A good fitting quality shoe is important to me, so when shoes are only offered in full sizes, the fit is compromised. So my mistake. I won't be buying shoes that don't come in half sizes in the future.

The Born Mai sandals are really cute and go with just about any outfit. However, I cannot recommend these sandals for a couple reasons. First of all, after wearing them for an entire day your feet will hurt. After several days of wearing them to the office I could not wear them anymore because of how sore my feet were. They also did not hold up very well. I had the sandals for two months before they broke. I expected that Born would have made a better product.

I ordered this item in Zappos and I received a diferent model very similar but not the same. so I am going to return this item.

Hard to say much about the shoes - I ordered a size 7M and received a 10M in a box marked 7M. This is the second such quality control issue from Zappos in two weeks. They did correct the previous problem, but I noticed that the review was never published.

The vertical straps on the side back did nothing to hold the strap in place- I had to return these as I was worried I would twist my ankle if my heel slipped out of them. Very disappointed, as I wanted them to fit!

These sandals fit so loosely that I couldn't walk across the room in them without my feet slipping over the sides in the front. You'd have to have a wide foot for these to fit. The style is okay, but I like the look of echo "bouillon" sandals better, which are also too wide for me. I ended up keeping Naot strappy sandals, as they fit perfectly and stay on my feet. The heel is a tiny bit higher and they are dressier, but they fit.

These sandals are very wide and my foot flopped around in them so much that I could not walk in them at all. Reasonably cute but nothing special, the footbed is soft and nice, the leather is nice. But they are not adjustable and unless you have wide foot, these will probably not work for you. As another buyer did, I returned them and kept the Naot Loop wedge sandal instead. The heel on those is slightly higher, and they are dressier, so not what I was looking for, but they stayed on my feet, have arch support, and I can walk in them.

I ordered these sandals to go with my beachy wedding dress as I hate to wear heals. I thought they looked amazing in store and tried them on in which they looked perfect but held off to see if I could find anything a little more dressy. All searches led back to these so I purchased them here in the same size I had tried on just before our big day. They arrived two days before our wedding and I was thrilled...until I tried them on! There must have been a defect because this pair had the strap sewn weird on the right foot. Every step I took in them, I could feel my pinky toe slip further and further until it got wedged between the two straps on the side...Yes my pinky toe was hanging out for the world to see and there was nothing I could do about it! I had to walk down the isle awkwardly with my toe astray and the rest of the night, this bride went shoe-less. :(

These looked cute on and were comfortable...for about a week. Then the straps stretched out and now they're sloppy. I might expect that from a cheaply made shoe, but I didn't expect that from a Born shoe. I normally were an 8.5 and the 8 was too small in the foot bed so I went with a 9, but had the ankle strap at the smallest setting. They stretched enough that I'm really able to wear them now. Very disappointing.

Just like others reported -- the bottom of the shoe is medium width, but the straps are sized for wide feet. You can adjust the strap that goes around the heel, but that pushes the foot forward and it looks awkward at the back. You cannot adjust the strap that goes over the toes, and it is way too long. Another reviewer described this shoe as floppy, and that is absolutely correct. Very cute style. Sad that I must return.
