High quality built, Great to take with you for hiking in case it rains a bit, the Only issue I had so far is one of the pockets has a hole because the seams unstitched. Anyways, it is very easy to fix. I would recommend it and I would buy it again.

T ook my 8 year old son on a 5 day hiking trip. In Panther town Valley in Cashiers North Carolina. It rained 3 of the four days. The jacket protected as parts of him and kept him dry and was lightweight enough to not have heat exhaustion from the hunity.

I have found the PreCip to be durable and reliable over the last few years. Can be a little stiff when compared to some soft shells, but I am always confident that the rain wont ruin my outing, and it didnt beak the bank.

I've always loved my PreCip jacket as it is perfect for withstanding the Tropical Rainsforest rain we get in Guatemala, where I currently live. It is also extremely light and breathable. However, I just gave it four stars because my last one had to be replaced the inside white coating began to fall apart even when following washing instructions. Fortunately, Marmot has outstanding customer service and sent me a new one when I provided them with my proof of purchase. It runs true to size and colors are gorgeous; had a hard time deciding which one to get.

This packable rairgear worked well in my travels when wind or rain were an issue. I'm not pleased with the velcro attachments along the zipper as they catch clothes if not careful.

This is my second purchase of this item over several years. Serves well the purpose of a thin, packable wind shell, essential for travel. Nice appearance, has functional hood. The white inner lining was not durable on the first jacket, but I bought it again due to its many positive qualities. The previous jacket was not fully waterproof, just water resistant; I am hoping this one is waterproof.

Great productwell designed (except I can't quite figure out what is going on with the pockets...). I bought it because it was an affordable PFAS-free alternative, and it's working well for me as both a raincoat and a windbreaker. I'd like to see more PFAS-free products from Marmot!

Gave my son my 15 year old Marmot rain jacket (What was I thinking?). So, I recently ordered a new one; same color and style. Everything's great except the left and right side zipper vents. There's no mesh material once unzipped! If it's warm and raining, you have to leave it zipped up; otherwise you will get wet.

I will be walking the Camino de Santiago this year and am looking forward to this being my only jacket on the trek. Whether it be rain or I need to layer under it for warmth. I pretty much wear a medium in everything, but the medium fit like a small. I returned it and reordered a large which I received today. It is the size I thought the medium would be. It appears to have all the features I'm looking for, so am excited to have it for my walk. I can't recommend the long term wear, but I like the new product.

Love the jacket I would have given it a 5 star but the jacket fits fine if not a little loose on top but across my stomach the fit is very snug. Marmots sizing seems to kinda run on the small size. A large would have been to big in the chest and sleeves.

I bought this to replace my previous PreCip Eco jacket because the lining had deteriorated. My fingers are crossed that the lining on this one will be more durable. I really like so many of the features: how the hood stows in the collar, lightweight and breathable material, waterproof finish, zippered pockets, velcro cuffs and drawstrings on the hood. I had gotten many compliments on my previous royal blue jacket and was disappointed that Royal Night is darker and a duller shade of blue than before. Another change is in the fit. The new jacket fits more narrowly at the hips. Since I wear the Eco PreCip jacket for xc-sking, hiking, etc. I expect it will feel snugger when wearing a fleece layer under it. The delivery was quicker than I expected. This jacket is a good value, since the Royal Night was offered at a great price.

Color is as I had hoped. Silvery gray. Very nice for Spring. Fits very well and as expected. It's winter here so I have not worn it at all yet.

Fit is a little snug if you want to add more than one layer of size up. More pockets would be great.

I bought a Precip rain jacket 6 years ago and it is not only my go to for rain around town but goes on all my backpacking adventures. I considered buying a hardshell for winter to protect my down coat, but my Precip already does the job well. I just refresh the waterproofing treatment and it keeps on protecting me. Thanks MARMOT, BIll P

Only complaint is lack of a 2-way zipper. Tree branches scratched material, but did not tear or materially damage jacket.

i needed a packable rain jacket, and this has become my go-to rain coat. the light weight design makes it easy to store in my backpack. the velcro cuffs keep rain out, and I can roll the hood into itself when not needed. it's perfect for light to medium rain.

I like this jacket, but the sleeves should be roomier. I have suggested this before seeing no response or change. The sleeves are too tight around the forearms to accommodate extra layers, long-sleeve shirt, sweater, without uncomfortable binding. Also, I liked the elastic sleeve cuffs that came with previous versions of this jacket. And finally, the sleeves are too long for this small- "S/P/CH" -size. I have to roll the cuffs under twice to achieve a good fit. See photos.

There has been no rain, so I have no idea how well this jacket will work. It is soft and much lighter than my NorthFace rain jacket. The jacket storage pocket accommodated my REI rain pants, so that's a great feature. Hope to test it soon. Purchased for back country backpacking. I'm going to answer, "Yes," when asked if I would recommend this jacket, but I honestly do not know if I would recommend it or not. If I get a chance, I will update this review after testing it in an actual rain.

After eleven years without any issues, I purchased a newer version of and while I haven't changed in size (medium 8-10), the same sized jacket is tighter. I agree with other reviewers; this runs small and has more of a fitted feel to it. It's not tight, but I won't be able to wear a lighter hoodie/sweatshirt underneath.

I bought this coat in the spring and have only worn it a couple times since we have been in a drought. It did keep me dry. I bought a Large based on the size chart. I'm usually between L-XL, size 12 pants. I'm right in the middle of the measurements for Large. I can zip the coat around my hips but it's very snug. Otherwise it fits me around the chest and top. I'm pear shaped so it can be tough to find something that fits around my hips and isn't too baggy on top. I would not be able to wear this coat over a sweatshirt.

My wife and I keep one of these around for literally everyday use. Is packs away small enough to be our go to jacket for travel near and far.
