This is the absolute BEST rain jacket I have ever oiwned. I love it. It packs small and still repels water after 10+ years!

Very light rain jacket. Like the zipper under the arm which make the jacket breathable

I have owned lite rain jackets from most popular manufacturers and this is on par with the 200$ ones. The cost is well outwayed for the quality and value you get. Finally got to try it out in a real rain storm recently and keep me dry and comfortable. I love the packable hood to clean up the look. Doesn't mean that it has the cheap jacket puffy neckline, they designed it to lay flat in the collar. Denim Color is great, fashionable but high utility. Good size pockets and good zippers on pit vents. Highly recommend.

I ordered a Lg and usually wear a M but want to layer sweaters, etc under the jacket. I wore it on a windy, rainy day and can say it repelled water and kept out the wind. Length is perfect, not too short nor too long for a 5'4" height. Love the Platinum color - it goes with everything. Perfect for an upcoming hiking trip.

Purchased about a month ago. Love the color. Its so unique. The jacket is wonderful in the rain. The hood covers my head enough that my long hair doesn't get wet. It also, has breathable compartments for you as well. It will keep you dry. People love the color too.

Loved the style. Lightweight, perfect additional layer to protect against wind and/or rain. Zips into its own pocket so its perfect for traveling.

Lightweight, pit zips, 2 pockets and roll-away hood in collar are all really nice features. I got the golden color; it is perfect, not only does it not wash out my skin color, it matches my favorite team's colors (Go Steelers). I'm comfortable, my kids can spot me in a crowd, a little ray of sunshine and cheering on my team. What more could a girl ask for??... yes, I'm dry too.

Excellent lightweight waterproof. I like that it flares slightly over the hips, which makes it more flattering

I went to REI before ordering this jacket and tried on the North Face Venture and Patagonia Torrentshell, as well as did a lot of research online. The North Face Venture was a little bit heavy and while I liked the Patagonia Torrentshell, the Marmot Precip is $30 less. I am 5'8 140 lbs and am normally between a small or medium and ordered the Marmot Precip in a medium because some of the reviews said it ran small. The medium was perfect! Love this jacket and think it will be perfect for hiking/ camping. It's very lightweight and packs down very small.

This is an excellent jacket and my wife, Lois, is very happy with it. But that is not my main reason for my writing this review. My main reason is to point out that the jacket does not run true to typical sizing criteria:it runs small, by which I mean, if you are thinking of buying this jacket, I suggest that you order one size up from what you ordinarily would order. Normally a jacket in size large would fit Lois, but the large was too snug and we had to exchange it for an extra large.

Love this jacket. Got it for trip to Ireland where it rained every day except one. We even had high winds. Lightweight but very good at blocking wind/rain while being breathable. I wanted it to layer over my sweater so bought a size up. It is slim cut. Excellent.

We surprised our niece with this rain jacket to take with her to her first year of college. She loves it - the color and fit. She's 5'3 and small framed. The small fits her perfectly.

I love it! I ordered one size up so I could wear layers under it for warmth. It's packable for travel and that will be it's primary purpose. I'll be trying it out in France next week. Adieu!

This is a great jacket. It indents slightly in the waist so there is not a boxy look. I couldn't decide which color so I ordered the arctic blue and lilac. Both are great colors. I'm keeping the lilac which actually looks blue. I appreciated the previous reviewer with all the comparisons to other brands. It does slightly cover your buns which is a good feature.

Perfect lightweight and heavy duty waterproof jacket. I bought this jacket to climb Mt. Fuji and wore it over layers to stay warm and keep out the wind and rain. The fit was tapered and there was enough room for layers - completely comfortable. I also wore this as a rain jacket in Tokyo while sightseeing. It was a hot day so the underarm vents were helpful and the lightweight jacket was perfect over a skirt and top.

Great rain jacket. On a recent hiking trip, we had a couple rainy days so I put the jacket to the test. It held up and was completely waterproof. The fit is great and I like all of the hood adjustments. The jacket folds up and fits into one of the pockets making it an easy item to carry with you. Before making this purchase, I had tried on Northface, Columbia and REI rain jackets. This Marmot fit the best. If you plan to do major backpacking or want to have this jacket last 10 years, you may want to look at a higher quality/higher priced jacket.
