I've owned this Precip jacket for one whole season now and loved it. It should come in handy when spring comes around. Great sale price at Zappos right now as well, so you should go for it and save it for the warmer weather.

Great all around waterproof protection from the elements. Great styling along with practical design elements that make this my go to rain gear. So great for travel because it zips into itself for compact packing. I have given several of these jackets for gifts..
People love them!

This is a great rain jacket to pack when you travel. The hood does fold up into the colar, if that's one feature you are looking for. I wore mine through the fall and was very happy with it. It does layer well over a heavy weight fleece, to keep you warm under cooler weather. Can't beat the 25% off Zappos sale before X-mas. You won't find a better deal on line at this time.

Awesome Jacket...denim color is a nice change. Fits comfortably and is true to size.
Would recommend for a nice light weight jacket.

I have one of these Marmot precip jacket and I liked it more than other rain jackets that I have owned in the past (EMS and North Face). The fit is a bit looser and I liked it. Also, no dropped tail; just a nice even hem front and back. The hood can be rolled up and become part of the collar. It took me a bit to figure that out.

Bought it for my husband ( very hard to please) and he really likes it. The colors are bright but "not too bright" it is fitted "but not too fitted". Seriously, it is a great waterproof breathable jacket. Pronpbably want to wear a long sleeve tech shirt under it for brisk walks but a great jacket.

Love this jacket already. It's super light weight, and fits very well (I'm 5'10", 180lbs, fairly average build).

I'm on the heavier side at 6'0" and 275 lbs., but the 2XL fit me perfectly. The quality of the material is really apparent, and it has kept me completely dry in the drizzly Seattle winter months. Although it feels similar to the type of slick material that leaves your skin feeling sweaty and clammy, I've not had this issue at all -- I think the liner material as well as the adequate ventilation through the mesh pockets and underarm zips does an excellent job at regulating airflow without letting in moisture. Would definitely recommend this if you live in a wet climate.

Excellent rain jacket. I got myself a small. I'm 5 ft 5 and the jacket fits just right, not too long. I like the cut. The back of the jacket is flat; unlike the design of some other rain jackets that give you a longer back (tail). Thumbs up!

I love my nine year old Marmot Precip in the Cavern (brown) color but it is starting to show wear. So I ordered a new one. Since Marmot no longer makes the Cavern color, I ordered another color. Unlike the old one the hood of the new one stores neatly inside the collar for a more polished look. Unfortunately Marmot now makes the lining a bright white color which does show when the jacket is not fully zipped. The old jacket had a toned down gray lining. I am returning the jacket and I hope Marmot offers a more subdued color for the inside of the Precip soon.

For the price this is probably the best technical waterproof jacket out there. Marmot always delivers and this jacket is no exception. I purchased a Medium. I am 5'10", 170 lbs, 40/41 inch chest and 30/31 inch waist. The jacket offers venting which is great because it is not super breathable. Again, at this price point, this jacket is a great deal and I would highly recommend it for waterproof Spring, early fall (with a layer) protection.

Bought this for the hubby for the rainy season in CO and it works perfectly. Not too heavy, but keeps the rain out. Definitely recommend this jacket for those of you looking for a great lightweight jacket for rainy season activities anywhere!

Bought this for my husband for a trip to Nepal during the monsoon season. The brown is such a nice color, the quality is excellent, the breathable pockets under the armpits was the reason my husband liked this jacket. He is 5'9" and 220 lbs. The XL fit perfect with a t-shirt. Anything thicker and it would be too tight.

I loved this jacket until I was doing field work in the rain last weekend. It's the first time I wearing the jacket out in rain for that long. (I've had the jacket for two years) About three hours into the work (in steady rain), my shirt under the jacket began to get wet all over.
Other times when I've worn it in rain for shorter periods of time, it worked perfectly.

Long - shoulders are narrow. Built for a tall, thin guy, no deltoids.

A very solid jacket. The collar was too tall for me, but that might be a personal preference. I felt like it was coming up over my face.

The rain gear that I purchased speaks for itself but the management that claims that the "STRIVE" to keep customers happy leaves a lot to be desired.

I needed a rain jacket and thought this was a good buy for the sale price. I can't attest to the water resistance yet, but thought I'd throw some pics on for gals looking for insight on what size to order (I scoured the reviews for this because the sizing can be wonky). For ref, I'm 5'3" 170 lbs, 35" waist, 41" hips, 38 DD, and I ordered an XXL. I'm wearing a cropped lightweight hoodie under the jacket and leggings in the pics.

I have not tried it in rain yet. Its for my wet running days. Fits well like all Marmot products do. I have been a Marmot buyer for years and love their selections, quality and prices.
