Fit: I am about 5'10.5, 175 lbs, slim to athletic body type, and the medium fit me great. Big enough for multiple layers, but alone it had a great modern, slim look. Performance: Used it a day after receiving it for an adventure race in WI this April. Temps were high 20s, mid 30s, and winds were 30mph, with gusts of up to 50. This jacket kept me dry from constant snow, sleet, and rain. It was windproof too. I did have the pit zips open the whole day, so I think that helped with breathability. The general consensus online is that this is the best price to performance ratio for a packable rain jacket. I agree - it worked great. This is my third Marmot jacket (winter heavy, thinner softshell, and this), as I have had great luck with their products. Also, Zappos is awesome.

I am 5'9" and 185 lbs with a broader build and size LARGE fits me well but without being too baggy. In fact, of all the brands of similar style the Marmot had the most modern cut and most modern of the shades of blue which are two of the reasons i went with it. The third reason is that I plan to use this during a vacation to Cape Cod in case of rainy weather in August and it is the lightest weight with good venting under the arms if needed. Finally, I think that by using layering I will be able to use this in almost all months of the year even the colder ones. I have a Marmot fleece that I love. I think this will be a favorite, too.

I'm 5'9" just at 195 and if I'm not wearing my jacket I'm carrying it in my pack or ultra pack with me. I am either wearing this jacket for dress or outings. The jacket is great as a stand alone or with layering. I walked the outer island of Oahu and wore this jacket in the rain, cold days, and just going out for the evening with friends. The color is great and holds. Oh, the Large size was perfect. I might be a bit more picky then the next guy but like you I want what I want.

Great lightweight rain jacket. I like the way the rain hood folds under the collar and also like the vents under the arms.

Really like the jacket. I looked at other brands but liked the color of this one. When I received it the color matched my work uniform perfectly so I carry it in my bag all the time. I am 5 feet 8 inches tall and weigh 160. I usually wear a medium. I ordered a medium in this and it fits great over a sweater. I have used it once for rain and was dry and not hot.

I found out about the Marmot PreCip from a review. They gave it an excellent review. So I purchased it, and I'm very happy with it. It is extremely lightweight, and it does keep you dry, and it didn't cost a fortune. In Miami it always rains in the afternoons during the summer and the fall (well we don't have a fall, it's just an extension of summer). The only thing is that you really can't have it on in our hot weather if it's not raining, because it doesn't breathe at all, and you will sweat! But when it's raining it does keep you dry.

Haven't tried it in the rain yet but wore it in the shower to test the waterproofing and it performed very well. Very little water seepage into the seems, I imagine a light rain will be perfectly fine but really long in a torrential downpour may have a little seepage.

The best light weight rain jacket recently bought my second one in a larger sizer. It's extremely durable and functional with so many great details. The hood folds up smoothly and the body of the jacket is slightly tapered. Get this jacket you won't be disappointed.

Best lightweight rain jacket you can buy. Keeps you dry all day and is small enough to pack away when the rain stops! My husband wears M/L/32/32 and the medium fit great with room for a layer.

This is my 3rd time purchasing this same jacket. The first time I needed it for a trek i was taking with my husband in Cusco, Peru - an expedition to find the last Incan civilization (NOT Macchu Picchu) and i left it with a new friend I'd met - a yoga instructor from Lima) who adored it. I'm 5'5 and she's 5'9 and still, it fit her perfectly, as our weight is about the same. She loved it. Then it happened again. I bought one for myself and wore it to death until it was nearly in rags. So i bought it again - only 1 size up - and it's PERFECT. I hope to find someone who admires it on me that i end up giving it to and to her so I can buy another one. Thanks, Marmot. xoxo

The jacket is lightweight and packs easily into a carryon bag. I love the hood that rolls up and stores in the collar. I rejected a lot of comparable jackets made by other companies because the hood just hangs in back when not in use. I hate that.

Gift for wife - was her #1 choice out of about a dozen options. Good balance between too flimsy vs. too heavy. She likes the underarm zip vents. Very practical.

The pomegranate color is appealing. She appreciates the zip pit to cool off. Got it on sale for a great price so very happy about this.

Great rain jacket. I wore it at Disneyland this past weekend, during a torrential rainstorm, and it kept me dry the whole time. It's light, comfortable, and easy to stuff into its pocket and tossing into a backpack.

Great lightweight rain jacket that has a hood that stows into the collar. It does a fantastic job of keeping rain and wind off of you, and is easy to roll up and stow requiring very little space. I keep it in my disc golf bag and it's there when I need it.
