I got the capri's 2 days ago and tried them on. They fit me perfectly. I find the Columbia clothing usually runs small, so I purchased size 16 women. I like my pants to have enough room to sit comfortably, I am about 5'6" and weigh 175. I know I am heavy...don't nag me. I look forward to many years of service from these capri pants. My other Columbia sportswear have served me well.

Okay, so right off the bat I'll tell you I'm not a hiker. I didn't want these to trek anywhere except all around NYC, where I live. So I can't attest to how they would do on a trail, on a mountain, in a stream, or any other "nature" sort of thing. But if I were to take them on some outdoorsy sporty excursion and they performed as well as they do for me here in a city "sitch" -- running around town, keeping cool in the increasingly warm spring-into-summer months, looking cute and sporty and just "hip" enough for the city without looking like I'm trying too hard to be hip -- I'd be jumping for joy and celebrating with an extra handful or two of trail mix. I am 5'5" tall, about 112 pounds, and while not "curvy" not without a nice waist-to-hip ratio (26 waist, 34 hips). I wasn't sure if I would get the 2 or 4, but after reading others' reviews, I went with the 4 in Grill. And holy moly, they were perfect. I actually gasped and said, "Oh my god, I've found The Pants." I felt super-cute walking around outside in them and I swear people were wondering, "Where did she get those pants?" I came home and ordered them in India Ink, also in a size 4. And when they arrived, they fit just like the Grill in a 4. Still, I kept thinking, "Hmm, I wonder what the 2 would be like. See, the pants did "grow" a little while I had been out and about, so I thought maybe if I got the 2, which would be my usual size, they would be better and when they "grew" they would be even more perfect. I obsessed over this and then bought the India Ink in a 2 "just to see". I kind of hoped they didn't fit because if they did, I would want the Grill in a 2 as well, but I couldn't very well return my size 4 Grill because I'd already worn them. So I couldn't try on the India Ink 2 fast enough. And oh, they fit all right, but the "rise" was a bit too short and I got the horrible "wedgie" thing and there's no way I'd walk around like that even for an hour while the pants were "growing", so I said, "Ladies and gentlemen, the 4 is the winner!", packed up the size 2 and returned them. So to make a really long story short, THESE PANTS ROCK. Definitely go up a size if you don't find wedgies fun. If you find wedgies fun, then go for it and get the size you think you'd normally wear. But you probably won't feel or look as cute as you will if you go a size up. You'll be happy you did.

I bought these in August and wore them on an 8-mile hike in Glacier National Park. They were soft, comfortable, and dried quickly when I got wet. However, they immediately began pilling. Since then, I've only worn them a handful of times in social situations. They look old and cheap. When I pay full price for name-brand clothing, I expect it to hold up longer than a couple months.

This is an update to my review of several months ago when I first purchased these capris. I have worn them all summer -- 3 weeks in Italy during hot sunny weather and then back in DC where it's hot and humid-- they are so lightweight and feel so cool, I really can forget I have them on! My main reason for the update is to tell you NOT to go up one size. I ordered several of size 10 when I am always an 8. The 8 seemed too tight. But what I didn't realize at the time is that these do stretch out over time. After 2-3 months of frequent wear, they do not revert to their original shape and size even with rewashing and putting in a low dryer. So now they are hanging on me and I was lucky to find one size 8 at our local Columbia outlet store. So stick with your normal size, ladies and you'll be fine. Oh..and also, you can remove the pull cord in the cuff -- I just pulled it as far out as I could and snipped the whole thing off and now the pant hangs smoothly-- very happy with these!

I absolutely love these pants - I practically live in them all summer. They are lightweight, water, dirt, and tear-resistant, look great for travel or just hanging out with friends. They're not restricting at all - I have sufficient range of motion in them that I can hike, do yoga, or ride my bike in them. I bought both colors.

FINALLY! These pants are flattering!! Not baggy - but not clingy. I have small waist, and "curvy thighs". I ordered a 12 and it was true to my size. Love these pants - they will take me for three months to Africa!

I love these pants, but they do not work for me. The legs have a wonderful stretchy fabric that feels like you could do most anything very comfortably. However, the waistband has no stretch at all. If there was even a little stretch in the band, I would keep these and order more, but not the way they are. Sadly, they went back.

I am really happy with these capris and I think I'll be living in them all summer. The fit is perfect, although I did have to go up one size as Columbia usually runs small for me. They are very lightweight and cool, and drape nicely without clinging. I'm not crazy about the pull cord at the bottom (my reason for dinging one star), but they are otherwise so perfect, I'm ok with that. The India Ink is not as bright as pictured --it's more of a slate-navy color and Grill is a deep gray-green. Great summer purchase at this sale price, very flattering and very comfortable --a real winner!

I tried over 20 pairs of shorts, capris and knee pants for a hike, bike and kayak trip. These were my favorites. Great styling, fabric, fit and functionality. I'm buying a second color!

These pants fit perfectly right out of the box. They are soft and comfortable, yet flattering. I am 5'5, 136 lbs. (very athletic build) and a size 6 fit perfectly. I will definitely be ordering another pair.

I love these knickers! They are great for hiking, playing, yoga, etc. They're light and thin, but sturdy enough for everyday. They make my booty look good, too- a bonus. I'm 5'9" and 115 lbs and got the x-small. I accidentally ran them through the washer and dryer but they still came out looking good. I am planning to get another pair. Note- I got these with a coupon from Zappos, and am not sure I'd pay another $50 for them. Definitely worth $30.

I have bought a couple colors in this style I love them so much. Light weight for those of us who need a little extra coverage but still want to remain cool in the summer heat. They fit true to size. Like that they are not low rise and sit at the waist. I am fuller figured and still find them flattering. I do stay away from the lighter colors though.

Very light weight pant, fits great. Love these pants. Perfect for the summer when I want to be a little better dressed than yoga capri pants. I got a size 10 - I'm 5'2", 132 pounds and usually wear an 8, sometimes a 10. I sometimes have trouble with capri pants fitting my calves - they're pretty muscular - but these don't get hung up on them. I'm going to order a second pair!

Love these! I have 4 pair. Wear them to hike, bike, out on the town. Even to diner! Best pants. I wear 27 jeans and the size 4 fits perfect

I love these pants. They are very light weight but not see thru. They have a little stretch too. I bought a size 6 and they fit well not too low. I'm 5'4.5" and weigh 126.

Bought several different pants for rock climbing and this was the first pair I cut the tags off. They have a great range of motion and I love that these are more stylish than sweatpants. They are fairly thin, but the lined pockets help make them feel more substantial and prevent panty lines. I bought my regular size, 12, and they are a bit large but not so bad that I'd return them. I suppose it's preference on whether you'd like a tighter or loose pant.

I'm 5'7 and about 113 pounds. Every review said to get a size up so I went with size 4. I'm having to return it to get a size 2....

I did not like the fabric -- noisy

Sizing is a bit strange. I've owned a pair for a couple of years in a size 8 and while I do really like them, I feel that they are a bit loose and sloppy looking. So I decided to try a size 6. Can't even fasten them! What a huge variation in sizing! For reference, I am 5'6", 130 lbs. Not very curvy. I'll keep wearing my 8's because I do like them overall, especially the adjustment around the hem, the nice length, and the nice fabric.

I already had a few pairs of these, but needed one more! Fabric is lightweight and length is perfect for 5'2"

This is my fifth pair. I live in these all summer. Everything about them works for me.

These are fabulous capris - just be sure to size up! I have been a 2 forever and ordered a 4 and they fit perfect. (I didn't have them expand over time as other reviewers mentioned)

These are comfortable, form fitting, plenty of pockets. I love the thigh zip pocket. These run 1/2 size too small, so suggest ordering next size up. I ordered my usual size 8. Am 5'4, 150 lbs, they were too tight so i returned & traded for a size 10. Great customer service on the return.

I ordered two sizes of these pants, size 4 and size 6. I have read reviews that over time, they stretch, so I kept the size 4 pants. I haven't worn them yet, so I can't speak to the stretching. Overall, they are well made and well styled. I am 5'2" and 121 lbs.

I love these pants! A must have for the hotter months. I have a pair in every color and wear them through the summer months. They fit just right and move with you. A low rise- they sit just below the bellybutton for those who don't care for a high waist situation. A super lightweight construction is a paramount plus. If you don't already own a pair, make the purchase ladies. You won't be disappointed! In terms of sizing, I am a size 6 roughly 135 lbs. however in Columbia I wear the size 8. They fit beautifully without being too tight and aren't frumpy fitting.
