Have a 29 inch waist and 35 1/2 inch hips. Bought a size 4 and 6, and the 6 fit better. These are really great quality pants! I only returned them because I honestly thought the length of the pant was not flattering on me. It fell just at the lower part of the knee (I have longer legs). If it was about 2 inches longer, it would help. Not a fashionista, but I've heard it is preferable for a hem not to fall at the widest possible area of the leg, and that's where it fell. Have another pair that is a little longer, and they look much better. It is a great pant for the right person though!

I had a pair of these from a few years ago and realized that it was the pair I kept digging out of the laundry to wear every weekend so splurged and bought 2 more pairs. Love them just has much as the original. The material is light weight, the fit is perfect for curvy hips and pocket is big enough for i-phone X. Size 8 fits - 5'6" 140 lbs (Loft size 4 curvy)

I'm 5'1" 115 lbs. with a small waist, a bit hippy, and thighs that could use some toning! But normally size 4's in pants fit me (though a bit snug), and size 6 is usually very comfortable. I first bought these in size 4 and could barely zip them. Also, the rise and zipper are REALLY short, so way too tight in the crotch. They're very well-made and stylish so I re-ordered in size 6 but there was only a minor increase in size and still tight in the crotch. So I've re-ordered again in size 8. Hopefully third try's a charm because I really like these!

I sized up based on the other reviews of the waist being a smidge snug and I wanted to have a comfortable fit. I'm very happy with the way they fit. I also looked at the size chart and I felt like it was accurate and gave a good size recommendation based on my measurements. These are very lightweight and I look forward to wearing them this spring/summer on the trails hiking with my family and while teaching VBS. I am 5'5", 130lbs and ordered a size 6.

I have been looking for shorts like these for a really long time! After they arrived, I tried them on, wore them all day to make sure I loved them, then I ordered me another pair. They are so comfortable and cute. I can wear them to hike, around town, around the house... all the time. I am a muscular runner (larger butt) and have a hard time finding comfortable clothes. 5'5 & 130 lbs, the size 6 fits just right :)

I am a trail runner I bought these for hiking and running and they do not disappoint! The fit is very comfortable Almost like you don't even know you have them on! I love the pockets I also like that they are a bit longer and kind of meet that space between shorts and long pants I know that I will wear them well into the fall I immediately ordered another pair! Size 8 fit perfect. I'm 5'8" 150 lbs.

Fit and size is perfect. Of course, I have other Columbia pants so I thought I was on size when ordering. I love the fabric. The pull ties are a cute feature, but I think I like them loose on my leg better, so I won't be pulling those in when I wear them. They are still cute pants, even if my leg doesn't look like the model's :).

For reference, I am a 5'6", fit 130lbs, and a 30+ y.o. mom. I bought these in a size 4, which is my usual size and the recommended size for this product.
They are a little bit tight in the crotch. They just are. It is my only negative. Not uncomfortable, not a deal breaker, just a bit noticeable. Someone with a slightly different shape than me may have no issue there.
That said, I love these. I love the snug, but not tight, fit in the butt, waist, and legs. I love that they hit right below the knee, so I can walk in these all day even in the heat and humidity without riding up or chaffing. (Note, I have a bit longer torso, so someone with longer legs may fit a touch differently). I love how they washed (on cold with tumble dry low) and came out of the drier without wrinkles.
As an added bonus to being comfortable, breathable, and functional, these shorts make me look good too ;)

I wanted to find a warm weather trail short that covered my knees. Size 4 fit me perfectly: I'm 5'5" and 123 lbs.--the shorts fall below my knees. The fabric is beautiful; colors are nice, too. I haven't used the shorts yet but I was so impressed with the fit, available colors and quality that I bought a second pair. I will use them next spring through fall.

I adore these. I wore my first two pairs until I finally had to admit that they looked elderly, then bought two more. I am ready to order another two. I live in Hawaii and basically wear these from February to December, when I break down and go to long pants. I want to be clear: when I say I wear them from February to December, I mean almost every day! (Things are pretty casual on Maui) They are comfortable and cute. They are perfect for hiking or housework or errands or wearing to the beach or.....pretty much anything, actually. I often start the day thinking I really need to wear something else, but then I think why? They are just inconspicuous enough that no one will think, Oh, she is wearing those again?”, but still cute enough that I get compliments on them. I am not terribly fond of capri length pants in general - I do not think they are usually flattering on anyone who has any curves- but these are a bit shorter than that, and actually very flattering! I think it helps that they end just below the knee and are not too tight at the knee. I am athletic, 5’7 and weigh 140. My only complaint is that they do pill. It does not seem to get much worse over time, but they do not look brand new for very long. I have to admit that they have been washed many, many times, and considering how worn and washed they are, they are well worth the price!

I purchased my first pair several years ago and they have held up well. The fabric is soft, cool and comfortable. They right thigh zipper pocket is handy for phone, license, credit card and a few dollars or even my car keys. It kept everything secure. So I purchased two more pairs and the quality, comfort and fit are still there but the pocket is now to small for my phone! The pocket has been reengineered and the zipper opening is better but because the pocket is to small to hold a phone, it is less functional. I still love the pants but why skimp on one inch of fabric!

These pants are exactly what I needed for working outside/hiking/whatever in the Florida heat. This is actually my second pair! The material has a little give but they aren't super stretchy like the Anytime Outdoor line of pants. It's also a little thicker too, so panty lines aren't a problem, and I can wear them for office work while still being breathable enough that I don't die in the heat of field work. They sit in a comfortable position on my waist, maybe two inches below belly button. So, high enough that I don't have to worry about gaping when I bend over but not too high. And I really like the double button, it makes it so the waistband of the pants is a bit wider (compared to drawstring) which is more comfortable. I am 5'3" and about 155 lbs, I got the size 10 and its perfect. Right after washing they are a little tight, but then after wearing a few minutes they're just right. They don't stretch out much during the day beyond the first 5 minutes, so I wouldn't suggest sizing down for that like you might for some of the other columbia styles. All in all, they're awesome! Just what I needed.

I was surprised at how nice these are. Well worth the price. They are comfortable, look good, and wash well. I immediately bought another pair. I think they run true to size and would suit anyone whether tall (I'm 5' 10) or shorter. The pants hit me just on the knee, not below the knee as shown on the model but they still look fine.

One of my all-time favorite, comfortable, and stylish pants. Very light-weight, incredibly stretchy but strong fabric, cute cut. I wish I had found comfy short pants like these earlier in life! The 8 is a little loose on me, which I like. I wear a 10 from other makers. Thanks to the other reviewer who mentioned doing yoga in these - great idea!

Agree with previous reviewers about sizing change. I sized up one size, thank you for warning me! It's always iffy to buy online, but we don't expect the fit to change on styles that have been around a while. I live in these...

Typically I wear a size 12 and that's what I purchased. They were about a half size too small so if you like them a little baggier, I would go a size up. I used these pants on my hiking trip to CO. They were super comfortable for hiking about 15 miles in 3 days. They were breathable in the warmer temperatures (high 70's) at the base of the trails yet were warm enough when we got to the top of the trails (mid 60's).

Sizes and cuts might be inconsistent between the colors. I got these about two years ago in the gray color (Grill) in a size 8 and they fit me perfectly. They are soft and stretchy and comfortable. They have a slim and flattering fit. I am going to be traveling, so I thought it would be nice to get a second pair in the India Ink color. My gray size 8's still fit me very well, so I assumed I would still be a size 8 in India Ink. But the pair I got was much smaller than my gray pair even though it was labeled as size 8, and the fabric was stiff and not as soft. So I sent them back and ordered a size 10 to try. The size 10 pair was soft like my gray pair, but the fit was odd. They fit ok in the waist and hips, but the left leg was really baggy from the upper thigh on down while the right leg was somewhat slim fit. So I don't know what is going on with the India Ink pants. I might try again and order another size 8 and 10 to see if I was just sent some crazy, miss-cut pairs, but I might just stick with my one gray pair or try another color.

Runs a bit small. Also blue is not a true navy. Appears darker in the picture. Nice pant though and I'll order it in a larger size.

I wear a size 6-8 petite. This can be a challenge when ankle pants drag the floor and capris are halfway down my calf. These capris are perfect. I’m 5’4” and vary between 116 and 119. The size 6 pants fit perfectly at my lowest weight. I ordered these pants in size 8 because I wanted the waist to be a bit bigger. The waist in size 6 and size 8 seem to be exactly the same. The difference is in the butt and legs, a little looser in the size 8. I kept them even though they’re a bit big. They are light weight and very comfortable. I wear them for everyday and also for hiking.

They changed the bottom of the pants with black ties not khaki and they really stick out!
They also changed how they sit on your hips! Much lower!

These pants didn't work for me. The rise is WAY too short, like "1990's tiny rise" short. I'm a pear shaped girl and these are more of a straight cut so the butt was too small and the waist was too big (pretty common for me). The material could be softer. Otherwise, on a different shaped body they'd be cute and they do seem well made.

Earlier this year, I bought some more of the Women's Saturday Trail II Knee Pants. I had bought some in previous years and LOVED them. I teach elementary PE and they were perfect. Then the ones I bought this year fit weird. I saw other reviews stating the fit was not ok and I ignored it. When they came in, I tried them on and the fit was weird, but I assumed that I had put on a few pounds. Well, it was not the pounds. When I got back to my regular weight, I saw that they do fit weird in the crotch area between the legs. I don't know what happened but PLEASE go back to the previous fit. I would hate to start looking somewhere else. I love Columbia and would like to continue, but that fit is just awful!

I have several pairs of this style capris that I purchased several years ago. They were made in Vietnam and fit perfectly. This new version looks the same but the fabric is not as soft and they were made in India. I wear a 6, so ordered that. Then ordered 8 because the 6 were too small. 8 are too small also so should I try a 10? Fingers crossed - I love my old pants and want some new ones. Just wish they were like the old!!
