These shoes are well made and great style. Unfortunately, I had to give 1 star for overall because the sizing is way off! I even used Tsukihoshi's size guide. My son has out grown his size 2XW Saucony and we ordered the 2.5. Huge! We returned and got size 1.5 and it's still way too big. The boxes and shoes match what I ordered. Can't tell if it's the shoe in general or just this batch. I've purchased Tsukihoshi's before, but never had this issue.

My son has mild cerebral palsy and severe sensory issues. It's very difficult to find shoes that he can tolerate and get on/off by himself. These shoes have lasted us 9 months and are still looking great! They may be expensive, but so worth it. I'll be buying this brand from now on. As others have stated, these shoes run a size larger than most brands.

I purchased these for my 6.5 year old son whose foot seems to be growing every three months. The brand recommends you buy a half size smaller than you need. My son needed a size 1 so I bought the 13.5 and that worked out great. He still has some room in the front if his foot grows a bit more before he wears the shoes out. I let him pick the color he wanted which were the orange and blue. He says the shoes are very comfortable and the Velcro doesn't feel tight. Overall, I would recommend these shoes. My son has wide feet and we are usually limited to NB or Plae. It's nice to be able to have another brand of shoe we can buy.
I'd also recommend:

My son loves the “gold” on these. My husband said he wished that they made them in adult sizes. They look so cool and they are comfortable. My 6yo son has a little bit of a wide foot and these shoes work well for him. We had a problem with two other styles coming unglued on the toe/sole piece and these do not have that piece so we are very pleased about that! He is all boy and very rough on shoes and so far these are holding up well! He says they make him run faster! ??

Totally worth the money spent. Theses are well made, material seems durable, and the comfort is excellent. My son is on the spectrum with sensory issues and says the shoes feel awesome. That’s not something I hear often from him when wearing any items. He’s super picky. I’m so glad I gave these a try.

We purchased these 3 months ago, per the glowing reviews... and now they are disintegrating from the inside out. Both the heel and ball of the foot have worn through the footbeds almost clear down to the rubber sole. I am honestly shocked that 3 months of wear would accomplish this. I'm not sure if we got a bad batch or a knock-off version but there are some serious quality issues with the wear of these. For $65 kids shoes I definitely expected better.

My son has been wearing Tsukihoshi shoes since he could walk and is now 9. This style of shoe runs big. Tsukihoshi has different styles of shoes and you can e-mail them and they'll let you know what styles run larger. My son's 4th pair of shoes were not made like the Mako (or the Wheel which as his absolute favorite!) and we had to return because he didn't think the Speed was comfortable. I e-mailed the company and they told me to try the Mako as it was comparable to the Wheel. This brand washes well and my son loves the comfort. He does not use these for basketball as these are too comfortable for that. But they are perfect for everyday wear and play. But to/from games/practices when his buddies are sloshing around in rain and snow in their slip on slides, my son wears his Tsuki's because they are just as easy to get on/off, just as comfortable, but protect his feet against weather and he can actually run. Love this brand. My son currently wears a 2.5 in the Mako but a 3.5 in his UA basketball shoes. Oh and the other thing, the way these are made I can buy them slightly large and he can wear them slightly small because of the fabric and velcro. I usually can skip ordering by half sizes at a time.

Growing young lady sizing is always challenging. We nailed it and upsized it this time. Cool sneaks. We like non common national brands. Blah! The Tsukihoshi is a great change from what is available. We have been to Japan and one of our favorite sneaks we got when we were there. I wanted to get some Tsukihoshi for me but alas not available. Suggestion: more uncommon brands, the commons are boring. Thanks Tod and Zoë

We love this brand. It's super wide!! My 8 year son's foot is super tall over his arch so most shoes are to tight. These are excellent though. We've blasted through several pairs. Unfortunately they don't last long. I'm guessing because the material is so flexible, it's just not durable. So he puts holes in these shoes within a few months.

These shoes have held up quite well. My 6 year old has put them through a lot in the two months he's had them and they are still in one piece. Granted he is hard on shoes, but these have held up so far. His last couple pairs of shoes fell apart at the toe within a month (New Balance).
On another note, these do not offer a lot of support so I wouldn't recommend them for training or running sports though these work splendidly for triathlons (race day - easy on).
Bottom line, I will be buying another pair of Tsukihoshis.

Great shoes, but sizing is way off! We got 3.5, and they are the same as my older son’s size 5s. We’ll keep them, as he’ll grow into them, but the size is not close.

My son's favorite shoe so am particularly happy to see them making them in larger sizes. I've been buying these for a while now and am pretty confident in advising you order at least a half size down. They run much larger than other shoe companies. The only reason they don't rate five stars is they tend to fray at the seams a little faster than I'd expect (i.e., around 2-3 months of wear) at this price point but they hold up well overall.

These shoes were clearly worn and had been washed before sending back. There was still grass on the velcro on both shoes

Great looking sneakers that are easy for my son to run around in. They are quite pricey which is the only draw back, but lately it seems like other brands are getting more expensive too so it makes the price of these more worth it. I also like that the colors of these shoes because they don't show dirt very easily.

This is our favorite brand. We love the wide toe box. The only downfall is that we seem to wear through them quickly.

These shoes normally run about a size larger. My child has been wearing these same shoes for years and I have been buying the same style through the years. He refuses to wear any other shoe or boot I buy for him. I wish they keep making bigger sizes for teen years.

My son loves loves loves these shoes and has requested the same style for years. He wears them for everything and resists wearing any other kind. But check the size charts carefully - he wears larger sizes in other brands.
