Very cute shoes but these fit smaller than Keen Newport shoes. I ordered a toddler’s 8 in both, these are quite snug while the Newports fit great.

My son absolutely loves these shoes. We went to Keen shoes for my boys because of the build of the sole/toe. The wide toe box is great for wider feet. The construction of the sole/toe rubber is ideal for kids that are constantly wearing out the toes of shoes. MY oldest has now gone through a few pairs of these, and I will keep buying them for my youngest. The only negative to these is the strap. After months of pulling, the outer fabric separates from the velcro. This is common, as it has happened with each pair we've owned. My wife has no problem fixing with fabric glue. Given the robust nature of the shoes, and how my boys love them, I wouldn't let this one thing dissuade you from purchasing. Again, it takes months for it to occur, and your young one will be ready for new shoes by then anyway.

The size 8 in these are exactly the same length as size 7's in other brands, so we ended up keeping the size 9's.

Not waterproof-took a star off for that. I’m pretty sure description said they are waterproof, or at least when I filtered for waterproof, they were still showing as an option. Either way, my 2 yo walked through some damp grass and his feet were soaked. This is not fatal for us though as we wanted something sturdy. These are certainly that. Well made (much better quality than the Nikes we’ve had recently). Sizing is similar/same as Nike.

Shoes ran small. Exchanging for larger size. Loved the 2 different ways to adjust tightness of shoe.

Love the shoes this is the second pair and plan to buy more. There has been one problem - the velcro has come off one shoe in each pair that we have had. The shoe has so much more life in it I can’t just get rid of them!

Shoes are great, just like all his other keen he has. However, one of the shoes' Velcro came apart just 2 months into wearing them.

I LOVE Keen shoes. I order them repeatedly for my kids because they really hold up. Unfortunately, this pair isn't holding up so well. The decorative silver design on the side has completely peeled off. Zappos is kindly giving me a credit but I feel like Keen and other customers should be aware that there is a slight design flaw. I hope Keen can improve the design, I'm so happy with everything else.

These fit my 4 year old son with EE feet very well. He loved them and I loved that the toe-front seemed indestructible. He always wore out the fronts of all Stride-Rite shoes. Turns out that the Keen toe front is, indeed, indestructible, but the fabric lace loops at the top are not. They frayed away 3 months in and rendered the shoes unusable. Disappointing as I'd hoped these would last a while longer, but good for 3 months.

These have been so great for my very active 5 year old. The rubber and toe part hold up SO well. What I'm really bummed about is a couple months into wearing them, the velcro is separating from the strap. The velcro seems super strong, so I wonder if it's due to having to pull so hard to undo. I'm going to try to sew it back myself, but beware and perhaps there's something you could do to help prevent this. Overall, I have been through so many shoes for my son, and these do really hold up and I still think are worth it!

They fit my active toddler very well but this is the second pair of keens that I’ve bought where the Velcro flap falls apart. It’s an expensive shoe to have fall apart after 3 months. Very disappointing

For some strange reason the adjustable laces are not available in all colors. I initially ordered the Poseidon/Jasmine Green color, but the lace is not adjustable and sewn into the shoe. The only place to tighten the shoe is with the velcro strap at the top. I returned it for the Blue Opal/Baleine which has the adjustable laces.

Ordered these by mistake after the size 11 waterproof version was too small for my son. The size 12 in this non-waterproof version looks a full size smaller than the 11 I already had. Also, note that these are not waterproof. I didn’t realize they weren’t because they are identical to the others.

My son (2.5) had these shoes in a size 9 (purchased 2017) and they did not have a cinch cord, just the velcro and they fit him great, but did run a little small. He has other size 9 shoes he can still wear no problem. We ordered this in the next size up (Purchased 2018) and this time they came with a cinch cord and were so big for his feet's diameter, but his foot length was almost to the end with little room to grow. The room for "chubby" feet may be a good thing for some kids, just not mine. I am disappointed as the other ones fit wonderfully and were great for hikes and climbing rocks. I also observed the quality of craftsmanship was not the same. The accent straps at the heal of the shoe were too long which results in them bulging out a bit making me concerned it could get caught on something and trip him and the rubber accent on the side appeared cheaper and like it would peel off easily.

This shoes are indestructible but not too heavy. My kids love them! However, we too have seen the Velcro come apart on the hook n loop closure. I returned one pair and the replacement did the same thing after only 1.5 mo. It's such a shame because the rest of the shoe is in perfect shape! I had to return my younger child's shoes for the same thing too. Sad to say I had to go with another brand knowing that they would toast nearly as long as these could have. It's pretty obviously a design flaw. As always Zappos made the returns and exchanges easy!

Why, oh why did Keen add take away the shock cord/toggle system and add the velcro strap? My son wore these shoes for two years. We loved them, and more importantly, he loved them. They held up well, and he could easily put them on and take them off on his own. Then we ordered the newest model and Keen switched to the velcro strap, which is less adjustable. Now the shoe just doesn't work for him. We returned the shoes and ordered a different pair of Keens with the old closure system. Five stars for the old version, one star for the new version.

My active 4-yr-old needed a sturdy shoe with a reinforced toe, after the toes in a pair of New Balance shoes ripped within a week or so of wear. These fit the bill for staying together. However, the bungee ties broke before he outgrew the shoe, and are not repairable as far as I can tell. I'm disappointed, but will look for another Keen style that has the reinforced toe but without the bungee tie.

My 5 year old is easily able to slip theses on and off but within a few months has stretched out the elastic cinch laces so they are unusable. Disappointed that the quality of elastic was a bit thin. He still wears them but that's them like a slip on rather than a cinch down style shoe.

My 5 year old loved this shoe! Too bad the one strap tore on one side. He hasn't even had them half a year. Thinking of contacting keen. Would love a replacement.

I bought this shoe for both my kids. One I ordered true to size and it runs small. It is too late to return it and now I am stuck with them. The other one I ordered larger and it fits fine. Order a size up. Otherwise, it's a cute shoe.
