I totally agree with the reviewer who said this new model of the Tide, under the Vionic by Orthaheel label, is not the same as the old Orthaheel Tide sandal. The footbed that amazing original Orthaheel Tide footbed is differently shaped in these, with a lower (but still high compared to most shoes) arch support and less-defined or shallower heel cup I think. Kind of like they sanded the whole thing down to be less pronounced. The sandal is lighter and seems to be made of a slightly different footbed material. Also, I ordered a 10, like my last Orthaheel Tides, but in the ones I got the straps were too loose, and I risked the sandal flopping around or falling off at every step. I'm returning them, and going to see if I can track down the old kind. I don't understand why a company would mess with a basic shoe that had such rave reviews and testimonials.

As an active person with a high instep and plantar fasciitis, Orthaheels were my savior. I bought the Tides II in almost every color and really loved them notice the use of past tense in that statement. Fast forward and I needed some new flip flops so, after reading the recent reviews, I bought what were supposed to be Orthaheels off Amazon. Unfortunately, what showed up were Vionics. I compared them side by side with my old Orthaheels and the arch support on the Vionics was significantly lower that the Orthaheel. I contacted Viionic and they, of course, disavowed all knowledge of the arch support being any different (Hello Vionic? Read the reviews on Zappos and elsewhere). If they're going to change the design, at least admit it, listen to your customer base and perhaps offer two options: One with high arch support and one with the new lower arch support. I'm completely frustrated with a brand I supported and recommended to many others and don't know if I will buy again.

I am so unhappy with the New Tide II, Vionic remake of the original Orthaheel. The original gave me much more arch support and stability. Within taking just a few steps it was evident these were not going to work for me. The new version also felt very stiff when walking.
Don't know what I am going to do!!!! The original Orthaheel helped me overcome plantar fasciitis along with deep-tissue work, I cannot use any other shoe including Birkenstocks!!!

I am so frustrated with Vionic because I have ordered size 12M sandals for years and have had zero issues. I ordered a pair from Amazon: too small. I ordered from Zappos: too small. I contacted Vionic, they said, "They must've been sized wrong; have them replaced." Maybe it's just this particular style...I don't know. It's hard enough having foot problems, but "sized wrong" from BOTH retailers? Obviously Amazon/Zappos's would refund or replace; but Vionic needs to address the root cause of the problem: how many of these shoes are sized incorrectly?!

Orthaheel flip flops have been the only flip flops I could wear. I ordered my summer sandals like I have done the previous 5 years, I originally had to return the size 8, which is the same size I had currently of the Orthaheel Tide, because they were way to small. I got the 9's and were hoping they would work, these new sandals have a narrower foot bed than the original, so my feet hang over the edge! So frustrating, some of the other reviews mentioned they stretched out a bit after wearing, I have worn them 4 times and have rubbed the skin raw on the top of my foot, a problem I never had with the 3 other pairs I have gotten from Orthaheel in the past! These ones are going back, why did they have to mess with them, they were great before! why ruin them!

If you over pronate, you'll love these Tide II sandals. The arch support of the Orthaheel is great and I wear them whenever I can. I really believe they help prevent shin splints, knee problems and everything else that over-pronation causes.

I have to agree with some of the other reviewers that the Tide II is not the same as the original Tide. On a positive note, I find the Tide II to have a slightly narrower and shorter fit. For me this is a good thing b/c the old model was too wide and a bit too long. On a not so good note, the arch support is slightly less pronounced than the original Tide. Still better by miles vs most sandals, but for those of us whose feet are accustomed to the super-powered arch support of the original Tide, the difference is noticeable and not in a good way.

I will agree with the person who says this version of the sandal is far inferior as the original. There is much less arch support and the material does feel cheaper. I feel ripped off for this sandal. Are there any Tide I sandals left? I no longer recommend this sandal and will look elsewhere for decent arch support.

Great arch-loving footbed! I have wide feet, C-D, and my feet fit on the footbed. It has just enough cushioning. I am usually a size 8-8½ (sometimes a 9 depending on the brand) and got these in a size 8 and they fit perfectly. They may be slightly heavy in the heel section of the sandals, giving them a bit more flippety-flop, but it is not a hindrance too much to wearing them. Definitely quality-made and much more support than standard, ordinary flip-flops!

What a disappointment; I had bought this sandal back when it was Orthaheel and loved it so much I wanted it in every color. Even though Orthaheel had been consolidated as Vionics, I assumed the sandals were the same, since they looked the same. But these sandals are not identical; they are subtly different, a little bigger, the arch doesn't fit quite the same. A real bummer to have to return them; wish I had bought the original before they became Vionic.

This new Tide II is not the same as the original. Compared to the earlier Orthaheel version,
1) the footbed is softer material that your foot sinks into with every step (kind of pillowy)
2) the outsole seems slightly more bendable
3) the foot length is better. They've adjusted the toe length so there isn't so much extra space.
Overall, the feel is more flimsy. I think Vionic should consider doing what Birkenstock did and offer flipflops in two versions. The older, harder soled version. And this softer one. I prefer the stiffer, more stable feel. Also, they should consider adding colors. What about a yellowy orange? Or an aqua/green?

These are amazing. I was hesitant to buy because manhy reviewers were saying that the newer Vionic Tide 11 is not as great as the old one. I guess I have nothing to compare them too, but this was the best 70 dollars I ever spent on my health and they do not look bad either. At first they feel clunky, but eventually that goes away. I have horrible plantar fascitis, and it worsens in the summer because of running and taking my dogs on long walks. My normal state is for my feet to allows hurt and feel inflamed because my feet are so flat. I think my feet hurt like 10% of what they used to. I have asics with good support, but my feet feel hot in the summer. I finally have a sandal that I can wear all day. I also suffer from neck pain and headaches, guess what, that disappeared to. I am guessing that these shoes helped my posture or something to that effect. I highly recommend these shoes, they are life savers.

Very comfortable and great support! Wish they made these in more colors, like plain matte black and gold metallic for the top band part while keeping base of shoe black to camouflage dirt.

Love these sandals. I got them for arch support and to help with heel pain. These sandals do the trick. I love how they look too. Will be nice with shorts and skirts this summer.

I never write reviews. I rely on them heavily when I shop online but I don't take the time to write them. These sandals were recommended by my podiatrist. I have heel spurs and plantar fasciitis in both feet. I have fairly narrow, low volume feet. I wear a 9 and ordered a 9. They fit perfectly. Put them on first thing in the morning and you will never want to take them off. You will only need to "adjust" to them if you wear another shoe first. I also like that the bottom is not slick at all, even on wet surfaces. Will order more Vionics!

Got these to help alleviate plantar fasciitis. I wear these while at home so I'm not barefoot...evidently a big no-no for healing. I think I also need the slippers for warmth around the house. Very comfortable and helpful and the exaggerated arch gives exactly the support it's supposed to. Good construction; comfortable between the toes. I ordered a 9, even though I can wear 9 or 9.5. Fit is just fine. Also, glad they don't look so 'corrective.' Looking forward to being completely free of plantar fasciitis and back to running by spring.

They just don’t feel as supportive as they have in the past. I’m keeping them because I desperately need a pair of shoes for summer wear that offer some support, but overall these shoes just don’t feel as good as others I’ve had in the past. I bought the rhinestone ones before this, and they are absolutely different from ones I bought a year ago. Had to return them because the straps were way too loose. The straps on the Tide II feel ok, but they are higher up on my foot than previous pairs. See attached photo. New shoe is on the left, old shoe on the right.

These flip flops have crazy arch support. If you’re feet are slightly flat then it’s feels really awkward and may be painful. Over time, my left foot has become flatter than my right so my left foot feels it more. They do come with instructions to wear only a few hours a day at first because of the way they are designed. I’ve had them over a week and try to wear them every day. I wore them for 5 hours yesterday and my feet were killing me only because of the super high arch. I couldn’t wait to take them off. But they do straighten out my feet. I’m mixed on these.

These shoes have saved my feet. I have to wear Vionic or put superfeet insoles in all my shoes because of arch problems. But since wearing these around the house all summer (I got slippers for the winter), my arches are back and my feet feel great. However, I ordered a second pair for this summer and sized down to the 7. I usually wear an 8 1/2 but the 8s I bought last year were huge. The 7s are perfect so size down!

These work for me with the arch support & firm outer sole (with a little cushioning).
I really am a Size 7 1/2 in Vionic. I initially ordered a size 7 and decided that these did NOT work for me.
Since I was In NEED of supportive sandals to wear inside my house: I kept ordering & trying.
It took a while to figure out that I REALLY needed a Size 8 - which lines up WITH my arch.
They are firmer than my "Pippa" Vionic Flip Flops (just use at home).
I also tried on "Casandra" (also a "Tide") at a local store BUT the straps were TOO loose.
Someone mentioned (or I read) how Vionic was sold back at end of 2017.
So.....maybe there are some changes.
Based on the date stamped inside my strap: I think I received an older pair of VIONIC Tide ll.
They fit my "bony" but WIDE toes just fine!
P.S. It pays to TRY again.
I had tried BOTH: the Unisex version of Tide ll and the Women's Tide ll in 2019.
When you have a foot problem - it helps to keep on trying & not give up!!

Disappointed in the design. I’ve only had this shoe for a couple of weeks and haven’t worn it much. The design that makes it looks like snake skin has already begun wearing off. I really liked the look of this sandal when it arrived and the fit was good. It’s comfortable and offers much better support than a regular flip flop. I have had foot problems for quite a awhile and Vionic shoes are my go-to footwear. But this one is a quality issue with the design.

I’ve been ordering Orthoheel now Vionic Sandals for over 20 years. Of late, the quality has really declined. This last pair had different color straps on the other shoe halfway to the anchored side. I put them on and almost fell flat on my back. There is absolutely no grip and it slides on the floor like I’ve never had happen before. Terrible sandals and I’m so sad I have to return it.

This is my 5th pair of Tide sandals. Luckily they haven't changed. I tried the cork this time and I have to say I don't love the style, but I don't really love any of the Tide offerings. The support, however, can't be beat, so I keep buying them. I wish Vionic would come up with some more attractive styles/colors/patterns with the Tide footbed. I'll keep them. My kids tell me they're ugly, though.

HOLY ARCH SUPPORT! Haha. If you’l want a flip flop with high, strong arch support, I don’t think there’s one better out there. I wish the sole was a little softer cushion but it is great support.

This is the first time I've ever ordered Vionic flip-flops and they simply feel way too big in comparison to other brands for a size 8. The upper isn't tight against the top of my foot, they are wider in the heel than other shoes, and there is about a 1/2 inch extra space behind my heel. Because of this, the entire shoe feels too big for the size ordered. I'm tempted to order a smaller size, but then wonder if my heel will be hanging off the edge. I will say though that the arch support is the best of the 3 brands I ordered, which probably reflects the difference in price, as these are almost twice as expensive. I'll be returning these though.
