Thought I would love these and they were tight

I have worn Merrell Breeze for years with no problems at all. I can always order them and they fit. However it seems like Merrell may have changed the shoe (not in looks, but width). It does not fit. Very disappointed. I have heard this from others as well.

Tried 2 pairs, used to order these all the time and now after the 2nd return, I'm not a fan.

Merrell has been a consistent winner for me, until the past few years. I think they have changed the sizing. Regular width used to be perfect, now it's too narrow. Wide width is too wide. Very disappointing that I can't rely on their clogs anymore.

Disappointed again in this style for the second year in a row. I used to love this shoe! I bought a pair last year in an 8 which is too small and stiff - they just never softened. Still have them hoping they would stretch and soften a bit, but they didn't. Someone told me the new ones are better, so I bought an 8 1/2 which are too large and also feel very stiff. I have a pair from many years ago which look so worn but are so very comfortable. They new material just isn't as good as it used to be. Merrill, I love you but please fix this material. Sadly, I am sending them back.

I've been wearing these shoes since 2000 but it seems that Merril has been changing the fit. These are much tighter than the way the old ones used to fit. A larger size up will be too floppy and might not solve the pinching it does across my instep. Regretfully I will be sending these back.

I loved my old version of this shoe. But these are way too stiff and uncomfortable so I will be returning them.

I ordered my third pair of Merrell Encore Breeze. My first two pairs were in size 9.5. I ordered this third pair in a 9.5 and it was about 1 inch too long! No way could I keep the shoe on, even with heavy socks. So I exchanged this pair for a size 9. Exactly the same thing happened. This shoe was about 3/4 of an inch too long. I called customer support and spoke with Dahlia. I explained that I thought these shoes were mislabeled in the factory regarding the size. She understood what I was saying and volunteered to send me a size 8 and a size 8.5. She kindly said I could send the one that didn't fit back to Zappos without having to pay postage. The 8.5 fit (finally, an entire size down from my old Encores) and I returned the size 9.5, 9, and 8 to Zappos. I held up the 8.5 new shoe to my old 9.5 shoe, and the shoes appeared to be the same measurement. I would have given this shoe more stars if it weren't for the headache that Zappos and I had to go through before I received a shoe that fit.

I bought a pair of Merrels mesh shoes several years ago, and when I got home and walked around in them for a few hours,they were the most comfortable shoe I had ever had on my feet (I have a difficult foot to fit) I ordered another pair in a different color, same size, same style. When they came in, they were too short. I recently received the Encore Breeze, and it's too wide, but they don't carry narrow sizes in Merrells. I love the shoe..it would be very comfortable if I could just get it in my size.

OH NO! I have worn Merrell Encore Breeze for years. 6.5 has always fit like a glove and really helped with knee and hip pain, not to mention they last forever and are nice and cool in the hot south. But the pair I ordered in April 2017 is just a tad bigger than previous Encores. It slips on my foot. Therefore returning. My new favorite may have to be Easy Spirit's Traveltime. So very upset. Have given Overall rating of 3 for change in sizing. But these are great shoes!!!

I have worn this style shoe for years but these are much larger than the same size that I have worn. I am ill that Merrill has stopped making the style sandal that fits my foot. Straps across my bunion do NOT work.

I've been wearing Merrell slides for over 20 years and have found them to be the best every day shoe I own. The only thing about this new pair is that they have the slightest "squeak" when walking on hard surfaces. Other than that they're still a great fit and value.

I've worn the Merrell Encore Breeze for years. While this latest pair is as comfortable as ever, I can tell the construction is not as good as previous pairs and even after a week of inside wear, I can feel them breaking down. I hope Merrell gets back on track with this style.

Very comfortable shoe! I have flat feet and they are very comfortable. They do look a bit clunky though...my only complaint. The silver birch is a great color!

It was obvious that this shoe had been worn when I took it out of the box. I took the insole out to see if it was sunken at the toe. When I pulled it out a Dr. Scholls ball of foot pad came out. This shoe definitely is not as comfortable as the first encore. It would have to have inserts to be able to wear. I have 4 other original Encores and have no problem with my heels in them. Unfortunately all shoes that I have tried lately are too wide.

I love the encore breeze shoes, i have one pair that i have used forever, however this new pair somehow its not the same. the shoe for the right foot feet smaller than the left, yes I know we all have one foot bigger than the other, but..it did not happened with my older pair.

I am a female with a wide foot, high arch and inherited bunions on both feet. I had an operation on one bunion 15 years ago. This is my 4th pair. The support of the last pair only lasted a year compared to the same previous models. The heel stood up to wear very well. The last pair did not live up to the Merrell name. I am giving this pair another chance.

I've had the Encore Breeze for decades. The first edition fit perfectly. This remake is much different. The material does not breathe and the fit is different. The toe is now longer and points in the big toe area. The heel slips. I finally had to buy a new pair as the soles on my others had worn through. I am so disappointed about the change in design. I am now patching my old ones to avoid having to replace them with this new model. The shoes are still okay, but just not as spectacular as they used to be. Also, the brown earth material is somewhat shiny, and contrasts in color with the lower part. I normally wear an 8.5 in these and they're too long but going .5 size down would be too small on the outer toes. Also, the opening is larger so that it they don't come up around your foot as securely (and off that pointy bone on the top of the foot) as they used to.

I have worn prior versions of this shoe for more years than I can count. They have always been my go-to casual shoes for spring to fall; comfortable for lots of walking, breathable, lightweight, great for travel, don't look too sneaker-ish for upscale casual events. I usually get two years out of them and order another pair when they start to show some wear. But this time my luck has run out. In this new version, my usual size is a bit too long and also too narrow. The fit is no longer comfortable. Like another reviewer, I don't think going down a half size would help. Sadly, I sent them back and wish I could still find last year's version. I sure hope Merrell will see the light and change these back!

I have purchased multiple pairs of Merrell breezes over the last few years. I can't pinpoint exactly what is different, but I don't find this pair to be as comfortable as the ones I bought in the past. They are "okay" but not the comfort I had hoped for.
