This Merrell Encore Breeze 3 model is a real disappointment and I will be returning the shoes. I've had three wonderful versions of this shoe which I adored. Merrell must have a new supplier because the fit, comfort and quality are far inferior. Bad move, Merrell!

I wanted to like these shoes as I have had a few Encore Breezes in the past. They are too long in my size. A half size down would not solve the issue. The shoes are just not comfortable and they slip in the back. Also the upper fabric has changed and not for the better. Why can't Merrell just leave a good shoe alone instead of redesigning it?

I've been wearing size 6 Merrell Encores for many years. The style of the cut has changed. The heel support is lower down, and the throat (top opening) has moved forward toward the toe thus making the opening for the foot much larger than it has been in the past causing my foot to slip out of the shoe.

I love this shoe. I see some reviewers prefer the Breeze 2, but I like the 3 better. The 2 seemed to be "clunkier" looking and I had to break them in. My Breeze 3's are a year old and do not look worn at all, as my Clark's did. I have a high arch and this shoe fits great right out of the box. I was very impressed with the comfort. It was like putting on a glove. Everyone has different feet, so the best shoe is a very individual decision. The Breeze 3 is cushy and as a nurse, I am on my feet constantly 12 hours a day. I even wear them on my days off. My job requires me to kneel a lot and it wears quickly on the top of the toes-but not in my Breeze 3's! I am a loyal Merrell customer forever. And Zappos is the best because of the free shipping without adding to the shoe price!

This is my second pair of shoes in the Encore series. I bought these because the first pair, with its leather upper, is too warm and holds in too much moisture for summer. The Breeze 3 is, well, breezy! My socks are a bit moist after a day of wear, but my toes stay dry and my feet are much cooler and more comfortable. It has the same comfort as the Encore Nova 2, which means the most comfort in a shoe I've ever experienced! Like slippers, only better. Cushy, supportive, enough room for my toes to move. Like the Encore Nova 2, this shoe accommodates my wide foot and custom orthotics perfectly. The only thing I could ask is that more colors and styles be made available in wide widths because I really love these shoes! I normally wear an 8, but these Merrells fit me in a 7.5.

I wish shoe companies would stop updating shoes. New and improved is not improved when it comes to this shoe. I have the former versin of the Merrell Encore and love it. This update just does not fit. Had to return. I love Zappos. They make it easy to return shoes whose companies have messed up a perfectly good shoe. Thank you, Zappos.

I've been wearing these mostly in the summer for at least 3 years. They have always been super comfortable and accommodate my orthotics beautifully. I actually have two pairs - aluminum and black. This will probably make some people cringe, but I actually put them in the washing machine to clean them! I usually add them to a load of the dogs towels and then let them air dry. They look and smell great every time! Comfortable + easy care = WIN!

I bought these hoping they would be good for a vacation in England this summer, in which we will be doing a lot of walking. I've tried them out for several days, and they will be perfect! My orthotics fit in well, and the shoes are breathable. I'm already a big fan of the leather encore style, but these are lighter and cooler.

Was replacing this shoe after wearing for 7 years. This shoe is just as comfortable and I will be good to go for another 7 years. Held up well and still looked good after all those years of wear!

These are super comfortable walking shoes. I got them on the recommendation of various friends who already had them. They were right! There was no breaking in period at all. I wear orthotics and do not feel they are needed in these shoes. Kudos to the Customer Service Rep who was able to get these delivered to me on Monday before a Tuesday am flight. Thank you, thank you.

This is my go to every day shoe, except in summer. It is comfortable, a slip on, good support. Can be worn all day. I find them hot for summer...

These shoes more than exceed my expectations! I have numerous issues with my feet and always have foot pain no matter what shoe I wear. My feet do not hurt at all!!

This is my 3rd pair or Merrell Encores in 11 years. Love these as much as the first two. Comfy right out of the box. Like all Merrells I have worn, they are a little wider in the toe box, which for me is a good thing.

I have flat feet and knee and ankle problems, and these shoes were made for me! Incredibly comfortable and stable. I like to slide my shoes off easily, but not have them slide off on their own (!), and this shoe design is perfect for that situation. Finally, while they won't turn heads, they look good and contemporary, and don't scream "old lady with joint problems! So I have several pairs.

I have 2 pairs of this particular Merrills shoe. They are comfortable, wear like iron and wash like a dream. I wore them at work as a nurse, was able to walk all day on concrete floors without discomfort. It is simple to put them in the laundry sink with warm water and detergent, let them soak, scrub them if they are that dirty, let them dry and they are as good as new. This shoe doesn't seem to show much wear and I wear them oftem as I am now retired and feet tend to be less durable as in our youth. I travel a lot and this is the shoe I wear all the time as a tourist. The are light enough not to weigh down your luggage, also. They are easier on the eyes than those highly overrated Danskos

VERY smelly. Had to let them air out. Harsh chemical smell, went away quickly. Heal has great support. Could stand more cushioning in the ball of the foot area.

I do love these Breeze 3 Merrells but disappointed in the instep being tight. I ordered my size at 9M and everything fits except for the top part of my foot goes a little numb. I wished I went up a half size on these. I'm hoping they'll stretch but so far they haven't and I've had these since December.

As others have said, sizing is inconsistent. My last two pair were size 8 and they fit perfectly but this time in dark earth color size 8 was too large, so I ordered a 7.5. I hope these fit. I have been getting these for the past 15 years to walk the dog and then retire to yard and garden shoes. I buy a new pair every year. This size inconsistency is nothing new. I have struggled with it before.

I decided it was finally time to get rid of my old Merrells and ordered this model. That they are vegan is a huge selling point. I did not expect workout shoes and these do not offer enough support for anyone who wants to keep their feet healthy and works standing all day, no matter what other reviews say. I did, however, expect them to be comfortable enough to wear around the house when home. Unfortunately, I have very high arches and the top of the shoe cuts directly into it on my right foot. My left foot is my slightly smaller foot and the shoe felt a hair too big. I'm going to try them again with a thin sock to see if that helps at all, but I suspect it won't. I'm so sad - of my huge order, I expected these shoes to be the one sure thing!

I have been wearing the Encore Breeze 1 for many years. My normal shoe size is 8 or 8.5 wide. But the Breeze runs very large and I wear a 6.5W. Just bought my first Breeze 3. The 7W is still a bit long and too wide in the heel. The toe box is wide enough for my arthritic toes but there is not as much cushion under the toes as the Breeze 1 had. Sure wish the Breeze 3's were the made the same as the Breeze 1.

Uncomfortable heel lift in this model. Foot doesn’t fit comfortable in shoe. The heel remains raised & doesn’t fit into the shoe. This is the main problem. Added heel support doesn’t add support it causes discomfort!!! I have worn Merrell Encore Breeze for 15 years. This is the first time I have returned them. VERY DISSAPOINTED!!!

I bought this shoe as more of a house shoe than a shoe to wear outdoors or for errands. At first, I loved it. I wear a 10.5 which felt good on my feet. Good toe room and decent arch support. I loved it shoe much that after 2 weeks, I bought a second pair cause thats what women do for fear that the (stupid) shoe companies may change our beloved shoes. But after 3 weeks of wearing this shoe as basically a slipper, I noticed I was getting some pain on the outer side of my feet. I developed some seriously painful callouses. So deep that I needed to go to a podiatrist to work on. I do supinate and am usually very careful about reading the descriptions to make sure a shoe is for a neutral person or for a supinator. If it says pronator, I NEVER buy it cause I will have problems. Maybe I missed it in the description but I don't believe it stated anything. In the SECOND shoe box, there is a little pamphlet that says ""QForm" Women move differently thank men. It basically describes that this shoe redirects the foot toward the outside of the foot". I still have the first shoe box and looked for this pamphlet to no avail. I am not saying that I would have read the pamphlet even if it was in the first box or not since I mostly depend on the descriptions on the Zappos site. Well 2 doctor visits and $240.00 dollars later, I wish I never ordered the first pair or subsequent 2nd pair. Since I already wore the 1st pair around the house for 3 weeks I can't return it but as soon as I get done with this review you can bet that the second pair is going back to Zappos.

Ordered 2 pairs, 1 black and 1 aluminum. The fit is not consistent. The aluminum colored one is larger and fits very loosely around the top of the foot...not good.
