I've worn Merrell's Siren Sport for years, with my own orthotic for my very high arches. I love the look of these, and hoped they'd fit, since Merrell seems to have decided they wouldn't make any new colors in S.Sport. The Allout Blaze have no arch support and do not allow an orthotic to be used. They are so flat that I looked in the box, thinking they must have shipped the insole separately. Nope. No arch support, no insole. A completely flat sole. They are cute as can be though, if you can wear such a shoe. I sure can't. Merrell and I may be parting ways soon, I'm very afraid. Very sad, because I used to be able to count on them for comfort and relatively good look. Now, that style is outdated looking, and has the same boring colors for 10 years at least. Very disappointed.

Loved the color and styling of this shoe. Hugged my heels well and I have narrow heels. Only downside is they don't seem to have much "cush" in the foot bed, so I think my foot would be fatigued quickly if I wanted to be on my feet walking/hiking all day.

My shoe of choice has been the Merrell Siren Sport for many years. I decided to try a different style and ordered the Allout Blaze. When they arrived, I slipped off my Siren Sport and slipped on the new Allout Blaze. The arch support of the Allot Blaze was more pronounced and it felt supportive. I wore the shoes around my home for the rest of the day. Within a few hours, the arch of my right foot started hurting. I took them off and the next morning put them back on to break them in for our trip to Asheville. My arch started hurting again but I thought I would get used to the fit of the new shoe. I took off the shoes at the end of my day and the arch pain had grown worse. It was so bad that I could not put weight on my right foot. I honestly didn't think that the shoe could give me such intense pain in my arch, so I put the Siren Sport back on and sure enough, the pain went away. Sorry Merrell, but this shoe is not the right fit for me!
