I bought the same size that I wear in Clarks and Rockports, however I could barely get my foot in them.

I have to say I liked my purchase of these boots at first as they look good and go with just about everything but the major flaw is they wear out very quickly. For the price you pay for these boots I would have expected better quality and lasting much longer. Very unfortunate as I had hoped I found a place to be a repeat buyer of nice, comfortable boots.

The rubber sole at the toe is slightly delaminated after only 5 months of partial wearing. Really disappointed. I thought this was supposed to be a good brand.

The shoe laces break in less than a month and the bottoms wear out in about a month and a half. I would have to assume their is no quality department at Johnston and Murphy. I hope that they choose different materials the next time they look at designing a shoe.

I had the grey color in suede several years ago very comfortable and good looking. However the brown color for some reason is very uncomfortable. It almost looks like a construction boots. I can't return it after wearing it several times thinking it would break in.

Very uncomfortable unlike the suede pair I had several years ago . Just going to retire the pair because I can't return them. Won't buy any shoes from JM again.

High price for a pair of boots that look like construction boots. Also, I'm not sure if there is leather on it. It's not worth it.

One of the worst shoes I have ever purchased. The location of the stitching on the interior of the heel area are not good. It gave me continuous blisters on my heel, so i had a professional shoe repair shop glue mole skin over the area which helped until the mole skin wore down. I threw them in the garbage. The shoe looks great, but the design of the material transition stitching is awful.

The color of my Copeland Chukkas is not the color pictured, I got a reddish brown not the dark brown, it's not a bad color just not what I wanted!

I've owned several pairs of the Tan Copeland Chukka. The pair I just received is much lower quality than in the past. The tan Copeland use to have a nice rawhide look with heavy white stitching. Now, the leather looks like the same style in red, with thin, brown stitching, except the vertical stitching in the heal. The look is nowhere near as nice as it use to be, an the price increased from $130 to $170. At that price, you'd be wise to look at competing brands. J&M had a classic product with a loyal customer base. Cutting costs and raising prices while producing an inferior product is a serious mistake. I may return them, but they'll surely be the last pair I buy.

Just purchased my second pair. The first pair lasted a few years(wore holes in the sole). JM quality has really went down. These are very uncomfortable and the threads are coming apart already. For the price they should be more comfortable and hold up better.

I plan to return these shoes. Within a matter of a few minutes, they managed to rub holes in my heels that took days to heal. I made the mistake of wearing them out of town, so I was stuck with no shoes and had to purchase replacements. This injury was caused by a clear design flaw that you guys had to have known about. I can't be the first person to have this problem. I had already stopped buying dress shoes from you guys (I was a loyal customer for years) because you discontinued your repair service. I'm done for good now though. J&M officially stinks. I can do better.

I LOVE how these things feel after they break in! However, after the 3rd or 4th day they always start to separate from the front. I thought the first pair I got was a fluke, but after buying another its the same story. I called customer service (they did offer to replace if I paid to ship), but I'd rather just pay to have them fixed locally. Curious if its just me or does anyone else have this issue? I dont drag my feet and haven't had this issue with other shoes. On a positive note. . . My last pair went from a dress shoe to a work shoe after about a year of HARD use. First failure was the front sole lip as described above. Second was cracking of the upper sole leather. Third was the rubber sole wearing so thin (but evenly) that they just came apart. I would pay to resole these if I could. Even the original laces made it to almost the end. Plan on trying one more pair to see if there is some manufacturing issue with the ones I had before.

I only wore this boot for 2 days before I had to return them because the sole on the front of one of them started separating. They are not good quality, unfortunately, and I have enjoyed J&M shoes in the past. Beyond that, the boots were generally comfortable, but I did develop a blister on my left heel. I'm not sure if I just needed to wear them in more, but I guess I won't find out because they are getting returned. I did like the way they look though, for what's it's worth.

I own many JM shoes, but this one I couldn't get to fit. The toe box is too narrow and pinches my small toes. I tried a second pair, but they fit about the same. This only affected my left foot. Too bad since I really liked the shoes and they were comfortable other than that. I purchased a Baird Chukka and it fits wonderful.

I loved the boot, however, I normally wear a medium width, but this boot was much too narrow to be called a medium width
