I bought this shoe to wear to a Master Naturalist convention. It is the most comfortable shoe I've had in a long time. It is waterproof so it stays dry in the wet grass and it keeps your feet warm if you're sitting in an inside long meeting. Great find!

I usually wear Merrill hiking shoes but wanted to try this brand for some time. They are very comfortable, and look nice. I normally wear a size 6 in regular shoes but ordered a 6.5 because my feet tend to swell. I put them on with normal socks and the feel great. I don't think they will need any break in time. Plus the shoelaces stay tied unlike some of my others. Plan on taking these to Washington in December.

I ordered a half size up to accommodate mid-weight socks. This is a fine shoe. Really comfortable. No rubbing at the heel or ankle. After wearing it in the house for a few hours, it was clear this was a keeper. It is very supportive. Haven't tried the waterproof claim yet. It has some flair, too. A good looking, comfortable shoe.

Great support shoes. I've been looking for "cute" comfortable shoes. I have a high arch and other issues with my feet. These are like having slippers on with support. They are constructed well. I also like the price $117.00 and the color. What a deal My feet are happy I bought a size 1/2 larger as other reviews suggested and they fit perfectly

This is a great product! I wore them daily for a month during a recent trip to Europe. The shoe is extremely well constructed. The material is exceptionally flexible, and small amount of extra space in toe bed length is exceptionally comfortable. Great sole on wet surface or dry, cobblestone or hiking trail or pavement. Highly recommended!

Love these shoe-boots. Sturdy but light and totally comfortable for standing all day long.

This is a sturdy well crafted shoe. After hiking in them, I realize the narrow heel makes my heels and feet ache. I have to go up a half size and recommend you do too. The water proof feature works beautifully. Your feet will be hot in long walks because of the waterproofing. Otherwise this is an amazing shoe made with comfort in mind.

What a find for us narrow-heeled folks! Cradles and cushions my heels like no other walking shoe has. I bought these for a spring trip to Japan. Light for walking on city pavement, waterproof for rainy days, and with treads to allow me to do some extended uphill hikes. Lastly, these don't look like your traditional hiking boots and can double as casual walkers. Love these. Bought 2 pair.

I bought my first pair of Ahnus more than 6 years ago, and while I still have them and love them (I had to add a new insole), I wanted something a little sturdier so I got the sugarpine. I love the sugarpine, but the length is just a smidge short...I kept them but I have to remember to wear a thinner sock with them or my toes are aching by the end of my walk.

Great pair of hiking shoes. I bought these to wear while working on an outside project. During a light rain & resulting mud, my feet were warm & dry. The arch support makes these very comfortable.

Comfortable (as advertised) with very little break in required. Waterproof (as advertised). I appreciate that these come in so many interesting colors rather than the standard "blend in with the dirt" colors of most hiking boots. I don't seem to need arch support like so many others, so pay no attention to my arch support rating (since I'm not sure how to even answer that one).

This shoe is beyond fabulous. I had major right foot and left knee surgeries. This shoe has been a life saver in my recovery. It can accommodate my custom orthotics and it has style.I am so pleased and grateful.

I needed waterproof shoes that would replace my worn-down Brooks Adrenaline GTX. I wasn't happy with the available colors on their latest version, so I decided to shop for another brand. These Ahnus really meet my needs. They're comfortable right out of the box, but not in a squishy sort of way. The footbed is firm but very supportive. I love the available colors. The Black Aubergine is fun and funky without screaming "Rainbow Sherbet" like so many athletic shoes these days. I use these primarily for my work as a massage therapist, as well as for walking my dogs. These shoes have excellent traction on loose, gravelly surfaces while we're out walking the trails. I plan to use these to replace activities that I would use for a typical athletic shoe. My podiatrist was impressed by the supportive nature of these shoes, too. I'm recovering from a toe injury and he thought that the shoes would support my healing well.

Overall a nice shoe, well made and fashionable color but the toe box was too narrow for me. I have narrow heels and there was no slippage there but my toes were cramped.

Bought these for the waterproof feature, was very happy that they are comfortable enough to wear all day. I usually need inserts, not with these.

Love these shoes. Got them in black for the winter. I was looking for a lighter pair for the spring. Like the color and fit, but not what I had in mind for a lighter walking shoe for light hikes.

I read that these run small - I usually wear a 9, so I figured 9.5 would do justice. Unfortunately, they were way too large. I also ordered a 9 (to be on the safe side) - they felt pretty much true to size but were a bit wide and made my ankles feel awkward - the shoes were rubbing against them. I really wanted to love them - but they're going back.

LOVE this shoe my feet have been sore for a long time. I have hiked across sticks, in the water, in the mud and they really do support your foot well. I also like the firm sole it helps you keep steady on your feet. I felt they were a little narrow across the ball area of the foot but they keep your foot in place therefore no blisters. No break in time either right out of the box they are great. Will buy these again thinking I will get the non waterproof ones for work. I stand on my feet most of the day 8-10 hours a day and think they will be wonderful.

When these were new, out of the box, they felt perfect. After walking in them numerous times for more than three hours at a time, the right toes began to press into the front of the right shoe. The left foot was fine. The shoes were hot, outside temperature 88F. I am now ordering a second pair, a half size larger. I need to walk the Camino de Santiago in May, my shoes need to be perfect for the long trek.

I initially ordered four different styles of the Ahnu hiking shoe in my usual 7.5 size. One of those styles, the Sugarpine, fit the best, especially due to the wider toe section which I need due to bunions on both feet. I decided to return those, however, for a half size larger as quite a few reviews mentioned needing to go up in size. I was really glad I did because the size 8 worked much better for me as it's a bit roomier. I've since worn these several times in the semi-mountainous area where I live and absolutely love them! They are pretty much the most comfortable walking shoe I've worn. I like the style and the "new black" color too - very pleased overall with this purchase.

These are great shoes but must be ordered a 1/2 size larger. I have the identical shoe in the non waterproof style in a 10. They fit perfectly. I ordered these-the waterproof version-in a 10. The first pair had a hard ridge on the lateral side of the right boot. I sent them back and ordered a second pair in a 10 and there was no ridge but the toe box was a little short. So I will send them back and order a 10 1/2. I hope they will be perfect. I love the fit of the Ahnu shoes which have a capacious toe box.

Ordered the red shoes in a half size larger than usual. I really love the way this shoe looks, and it fit great EXCEPT that it comes up a bit high on my foot and rubs against the front of my ankle. So very disappointed and must send them back.

I tried many shoes before finding these. They are very comfortable, true to size and are truly waterproof! I work in an equine emergency hospital and am on cement floors that get wet. I needed shoes that didn't slip and would support my feet. These do that and are cute to boot. Love the soles. Zappos you are a great company. Please don't change a hair on your head.
