I bought this in November 2012 and I used it last winter without much issues. This winter onwards the shoe started leaking. After I wear it in snow for 10-15 minutes the insole starts to get wet and my toes starts to freeze. It doesn't have any visible damage so I'm not sure how the water is getting in and it happens to both shoes. So disappointed.

I bought these boots in a 10.5 for my son for Christmas because that is the size he wears. The size was a little small so I purchased a half size up. The boot fit well until he wore them for a day. The boot caused blisters on his ankle and the top of his foot. The boot buckles in the forefoot and I believe this is what caused the boot to rub on the top of his foot and cause blisters. I like the Merrell brand but was very disappointed in this boot. I would not recommend this boot.

These boots did great on a hiking trip in Iceland. Good in snowy and wet conditions. Kept my feet dry and warm. Very comfortable.

These babies were baptized by fire. I wore them in around my home and then hiked trails in Italy's Cinque Terre. They were comfortable, dry, warm, and provided enough support. I do not know how they would hold up to the ATC but they seem to be great for the long weekend hikes that I take. They provide good arch support and exactly the balance of ankle support and give that I want. They look nice enough to double as my winter boots for commuting to work.

I am a woman and bought the Men's Merrell Moab after my horrible experience with women's North Face's Zophia boot. I had to return it twice because of a repeat defect causing me to trip over the broken snap. My fault I fell in love without reading any review. I was encouraged by the Zappos customer service to try the Merrell Moab. I bought the 10 as suggested because I wanted to wear a thick sock with comfort. Best walking in the muck and mire of NYC snow boor ever! Warm, good looking, durable. Just a quality boot. I won't have to buy another snow boot. If I did, I'd look first to Merrell.

Awesome boot! I work outdoors and on my feet a lot, these make a huge difference compared to other name brands, and I have tried many.

I've had really good luck with this item. They are fairly waterproof, at least in mud, light rain, dew, etc. I wouldn't walk through a lake with them. I've used them for hiking and cutting firewood. They're warm, light, and comfortable. Of course, they're out of stock as of this writing, probably never to find them again.

Too Narrow

Very comfortable shoe, looks great, and performs well in the snowy/wet conditions that I bought it for. I am in the Mid-Atlantic region, so, not the heaviest of snowfalls or most brutal of winters, but does a great job in what I have experienced so far. Comfortable to walk around in and handles the elements great.

I was pleased with the speed of the delivery after placing the order. They were not in stock on the manufacturer's website but available on Zappos'-go figure?

The boots feel great. Length and width pretty much as advertised. Since I always use SuperFeet insoles, arch support in these Merrells was not an issue. Just need to break them in a bit. Haven't needed them yet in usually snowy Syracuse, NY, but I have them for the inevitable. Zappos service has been great. Fast and efficient.

I really wanted to like these. The major problem was how the tongue is designed. I like that the tongue was sewn to the sides (webbing) to help stop water/snow from coming in, but toward the middle of the tongue where the side webbing is sewn in, the underside of the tongue has a horizontal seam. The spot where that horizontal seam meets the webbing creates an acute pressure point on a sensitive part of my foot, just above the boney bump on the inside of both feet. I felt it immediately and even keeping them loose I could still feel it. I was certain they would begin bothering me within 30 minutes of wearing them. Bummer..

Fits like other Merrell shoes that I have, and did a good job of keeping my feet dry in the snow.

I have medium volume feet with a little above average need for arch support and this 10½ with my 10 to 10½ feet fits great. They are super comfortable while I just unloaded two hay wagons. I have been looking for a year to get a good fit boot after my last Columbia Bugaboots finally failed and I could not find the boots anymore. I am going to pick up a second pair to keep for when this first pair die. The only reason for four star overall is the eyelets are cloth, I would prefer metal.

These shoes are interesting. I just purchased them and hope they work out. I like how the Merrell footbed fits. My main problem is that the metal grommet rubs against my ankle a bit. I will add some felt type material, and I hope this takes care of the problem.

I've worn them a bunch. Only complaint is the left tongue has an imperfection at a seam that causes a pressure point. If I'm careful while lacing, I can get around it. I didn't swap them out because I needed them the next day (and winter hasn't really let up). I wore them at -25f (went on a 30 minute walk) with one pair of socks and my feet felt fine. I also had them submerged (half-way up the laces) for 10 minutes during our one big melt / rain storm with no leakage. Overall they're looking good and show no signs of wear. oh- also went snowshoeing in them with the only issue that crept up was the tongue pressure point going down steep hills. This must just be an imperfection in the sample I have.

This is a good all purpose boot. So far I've used it for hiking and working outside this winter. They are warm, light, flexible and easy to put on and take off. Good value in my opinion.

Bought this boot for Christmas for my husband. He normally wears a 9.5 medium to wide. He put this on and felt his toes going numb after a few minutes. We love Merrell products but this boot runs narrow. Great boot...wish it came in a 9.5 wide.

Very well made boots. The insulation is adequate with one pair of sock. The med. width is a little tight compared to other med. width boots. You may want to get wide width for these.

I really liked these boots for hiking and they were waterproof until the right one was not. It's developed a leak which, of course, negates the "waterproofness". They are four years old and still like new, except for this one issue. Apparently, a waterproof boot is not able to be manufatured unless it's a barn boot!

Not as comfortable as older model Merrell winter hiking boots from 5 years ago.

I bought this boot for a trip to Iceland. It appeared ideal so off to Iceland we went. On day to the right boot decided to cripple me by causing severe pain above my right ankle. I could detect no defect with the boot and my ankle was fine in my other footwear. Unfortunately, I had to wear the boot for several of the excursions. My ankle is still recovering. Very dissappointing to me.

I bought these from REI. They are narrow. They are uncomfortable in the arch/midfoot due to width. These would suck on a hike. All else is great but fit comes first.
