I have a pair of Keen Whisper sandals and love them, so I thought, how can I go wrong with another pair of Keens? These shoes, however, ended up being way too narrow for my feet, and the top of the shoe hit the bottom of my toes in such a way as to cause extreme discomfort and downright pain. I'm so sad about that, because I think they are adorable. Just not for me.

This is my 3rd pair of these shoes in the last 5 years. I wear them a lot, I do a lot of walking, and I have loved these shoes, but I'm not totally happy with this pair. The first 2 pairs fit me perfectly and were 100% comfortable from the first day, but this pair fits a lot more snugly across the top of the foot, and also seems a little bit shorter than the previous pairs. I'm hoping they will stretch out as I break them in, but for now, I'm uncertain. I normally wear a 7 or a 7 1/2 depending on the shoe - have always had these in a 7 before but apparently the sizing or the cut has been changed slightly. For now I'd say if you're between sizes, go up half a size.

I love Keen's, but these had no arch support and ran a bit short.

I wear orthotics and I was able to fit them in these shoes, but it made me have way too much heel slippage. I wish Keen made a mary jane that didn't have elastic in the strap so you could tighten as you like. I've tried the presidio, but they too have a small piece of elastic that wears out within a year.

This is one of those Keen styles where the sizing is off. I normally wear a 7.5 but they were too small so I got the 8 which felt too bit, the front was folding a lot when I walked. I wanted to like these shoes, the elastic band across the top felt nice and they were light and airy. I decided to go with the Presidio MJ instead which felt more true to size.

I really want and need a simple shoe like this for city walking. I thought these would be just the thing, but that heavy rubber bumper on the front is too much and my big toe keeps hitting up against it on the inside. A larger shoe wouldn't fix that, as the pair I bought is already a bit big to accomodate socks. Too bad. A little give in the front would have made all the difference.

These would have been the PERFECT shoe if the toebed wasn't completely horizontal/flat - my toes just hit the end! If they had any sort of angle to them at all they'd be perfect. And of course, they don't make a bigger size (I wear an 11 in all things Keen and Vionic so it was extra disappointing that these didn't fit). Otherwise, they were very nice and comfy, easy to get on, looked good with jeans and yoga pants, etc. EXACTLY what I wanted. :(

I'm returning this shoe because the 9 is too small. Also, the material on this shoe gives it sort of an odd appearance. Not super attractive. Looks kind of rubbery or something.

I am on my third pair of these shoes - the first two were canvas - I bought one of them, but they started coming apart at the toe within eight months, so Keens replaced them. In the meantime, I had bought the leather pair and now they are separating from the rubber toe. At this price, they should last longer than eight months! Never again.

I love the feel and comfort of this shoe. It was comfortable right out of the box. The only thing I dislike is that after only 6 or so wearings the leather looks scuffed and old. They should come with a definite suggestion to waterproof before ever using. They show every little stain or mark. I wanted them to look like they feel but now they just look older.

Cute shoe, however, I have flat feet and the shoe had little arch support. Also have tailor's bunions and the toe box wasn't quite wide or big enough. Love the elastic strap on the shoe - fit perfectly without being too tight or too loose. The gargoyle grey is a great color. I feel like I might like this shoe better if I didn't have so many feet issues hence why I still gave it a good rating.

These shoes look good (in the wide toe Keen way) after months of use. Note that there is no side support on these shoes, the elastic band does make them easy to slip on but the sides give no support for uneven ground.

I love the way these shoes look and I wanted to like them but the fit was not right. The shoes gapped on the side and there was no support, so reluctantly I sent them back.

They seem sturdy but are a bit clunky-looking, and they don't work with my orthotics; probably no MJ would. The non-adjustable strap across the instep is loose on my slender foot, and the forefoot part of the shoe pooches out unattractively when I bend my foot to take a step. Just not right for my particular feet.

The 9 was too small and the 9.5 was too big. The color of brown was completely different between the two sizes. I am sorry this shoe did not fit as it was cute.

I usually love Keen shoes and I have worn many of my Keens for years and years, until they fall apart. I got these as a Christmas present and was so excited because it takes a lot for me to spend that much on shoes. They were very comfortable when I first put them on. Within about a week, my heels were hurting, both in the shoes and out. Then within about two weeks, they felt stretched out. And within about a month, there were holes in the inside soles. I am so disappointed. This is not the quality that I expect from Keen.

This size 10 med. width shoe was very narrow and much smaller than size 9.5 med. width in the Presidio MJ. The sizing is the reason for my poor review.

I liked the shoes but I did not like the clay looking specks. If they were evenly distributed it would have been fine. Too bad!

I had this similar model from two years ago and preferred the older model. I could wear the others as is, and these require me to add an arch support. The chili pepper color is also a bit brighter than I was hoping for, vs the more muted bluish red I like. And it may have just been a bad pair, but the entire left seam fell out after 3 wearings. So these are being returned and I will try a different style.

This is not the same Keen that I have come to depend on. While the footbed appears to be the same as previous Keen's, it is actually quite different. The thickness does not evenly distribute weight because the heel is actually slightly raised. The sole under the ball of the foot is actually quite thin so that my weight is tipped to the front putting pressure on my bunions. This is such a disappointment because this style used to be a very comfortable accommodation for my painful bunions. It was nice having a comfortable alternative to walking shoes or tennis shoes. Keen seems to be taking a different direction in the design of their shoes away from comfortable, supportive shoes for working folks with sore feet. Keens have never been glamorously sexy shoes but I have come to accept the fact that my feet will never tolerate 5 inch heels again, or even a one inch heel for that matter. I had come to depend on this brand and am devastated that I can no longer depend on them. This may be a comfortable shoe for many but if you need a specialized shoe you may wish to look elsewhere.

Cute shoe that I had high hopes for as it's recommended for plantar fasciitis. Unfortunately the cut of the shoe on top caused it to dig into my foot with every step. The right heel was too tight while the left heel felt fine. I'm flat footed and the shoe felt fine for that. Sorry I had to give it up.

Sigh. I read the reviews, I had hope! But sadly what I thought would be my new everyday go-to shoe is really just a manaical device of torture. I generally have little problem with shoes. I'm a straight forward size 6 in every pair. Apparently not these. They are really narrow and tight around the outside of my feet. They seem a bit short, but not over the top. The main issue is the heel and the top edge of the shoe cut into my feet like there was no tomorrow. I'm on day two, still holding on to hope that they will stretch and soften, but I won't lie - I'm seriously dismayed! I would return them, but my heels have bled so much that the backs of the shoes are stained. I'm doing my best to tough it out and hope for improvement. If that happens, I'll update my review. But for now...ouch!

I had two pairs of Keen Sienna MJ's several years ago and loved them! I wore them so much they are torn up on top (yet I still have them!). Anyway, the company wrote me last year, saying this new MJ would be released in the Fall of 2013. I was so excited after being disappointed they weren't a style sold for several years. However, after putting them on, I was so disappointed. Within 30 minutes, I could tell that the plantar fasciitis would definitely come back if I kept wearing these shoes. The soles are no where close to what the old ones were. And the top design wasn't either, though I would have lived with that. I've written the company about my concerns and am glad others seem to like them. I wish that I did, too! But, I don't. The other designs have bigger soles, but then have straps and such...just not something I want. I'll be putting these back in the box and shipping them back. (Thanks for the free shipping, Zappos!) I just want my old black and brown original Sierra MJ's back! Hopefully they'll be sold soon!

These lacked arch support and were too wide for my narrow feet. I also felt that they ran a half size too small. Way too ugly for my taste!
