These shoes are great for the water or beach. I purchased for walking along the beach which has lots of stones. They provide great support for long walks and protect against the stones. The water quickly drains out the bottom. If they get sand or little pebble grit that takes longer to drain out but I found it only got into the shoe from walking in heavy sand.

I bought these shoes for our trip to Hawaii. I wanted a sturdy shoe that I could use for hiking but was also light and could be worn in the water. These fit the bill perfectly. We walked over beaches and rocks to go snorkeling and I never had any problems going from sand to rock to water and back. Shoes drained nicely and dried quickly. I’ll never go back to plain water shoes or those ugly heavy sandals!

The size was too big, otherwise cute. I returned since I found my old water shoes :)

I bought this based on the reviews and love them! They have felt true to size with good cushioning and support. I am recovering from a fracture in my foot and needed to find water shoes which were supportive, comfortable, and adjustable. The Hydro Sport met all these needs and enabled me to get back in the pool. I am really happy with them as they have been much better than I expected. Will be buying another pair!

For athletic shoes, I'll wear women's 9, sometimes 9.5.The 9 felt very comfortable to me- but sorry I'll admit I did not wear in a pool, which they're designed for. I didn't realize they were for water aerobics until after I'd ordered. I think it was pretty clearly marked, but I was rushing. I was looking for water/river/spelunking shoes. Didn't keep because I thought the bottoms wouldn't be the best for gripping rocks, and the toe bed was very flexible- could lead to a twisted ankle with the rugged stuff I'll be doing. Ended up finding an awesome pair of Merrell's from Zappos, PERFECT for my Belize trip and will be great for my life in the PNW. I'll say, I LOVE the look of these Ryka's, great color, design, so comfy. I dreamed of joining a gym close by with water aerobics classes :) Unfortunately this is not my life. If this is your life, getting these shoes seems like a no-brainer! They seem nicely designed to be water-dynamic, can move your with them not feeling like weird paddles that inhibit your movement. The exterior arch looks like it's designed to have water move past, pretty cool.

Very comfortable shoe, but runs 1/2 to a full size small. Runs small compared to other shoe of same brand.

Look is great.Different than I have. I wanted a cool summer sneaker and with all the venting in the shoe this is perfect. Not using as a water shoe but great out watering my flowers and garden. I am between 8 and 8 1/2 and the 8 1/2 was perfect.

I wore these shoes for water exercise for the first time today. They are really an upgrade from my old water shoes. They gave me great support and made me feel very safe and secure both on the pool deck and in the water. I’m looking forward to wearing them for many more workouts.

Fit well (my expected size) and I really like these shoes for aqua Zumba! These are the same style my instructor wears.

This water shoe was recommended to me by my water aerobic instructor. She and a fellow class member said Rykas run a little large, but since i could not find a wide width, only medium width, I only went down a half of size. The lacing allows me to determine the width, so perhaps a full size smaller would have been better, though these are not so large that I need to return them. I plan on using these only in the pool, so the arch support is sufficient. They dry quickly which is very helpful.

OMG, amazing pair of shoes!!! I've always used water sandals for tropical hikes, and found they didn't do a good job holding your foot in the shoe. Enter Ryka Hydro Sport!!! They feel like a comfy running shoe, e.g., great support and drained all the water from river hiking as promised. And when I wasn't in water, they are great for walking. My son and husband want a pair now, do they make them for men???

This shoe was recommended by another woman in my pool fitness class. I have very high arches and needed the support. I’ve only worn them to class one time and really liked the feel and styling. The only negative I’ve noticed is that it’s now 24 hours after the class, and they are still very wet, though I put them in the shower to dry out. Otherwise, I think I’m really going to like the support from these shoes.

The fit and size were spot-on; the instep was higher which was GLORIOUS. My only issue with these shoes is that they have slick bottoms - and they're supposed to. These are made for water aerobics. I had no idea until I read reviews elsewhere. I feel fairly stupid for not doing more research but if I ever need these for water aerobics I'm in!

these shoes fit great. I use them for my three times a week water aerobics class. Give good moderate support which is fine for me in the water. Our instructor recommended them to me. I'm getting another pair I liked them so much.

This is my second pair of these shoes...I wear them daily for HydroTraining classes so they get a lot of use with jumping and moving in chlorinated water. I like them a lot. Fit great. Hold up great.

Love them! These are my second pair of ryka water shoes. My others lasted six years. They have support, cushion and they look awesome! I do water aerobics so these are perfect. Also play water volleyball great shoes to jump in! My last shoes kept the color, even though they had many years with the chlorine. I love the colors on my new shoes and expect them to last six years also. Definitely worth the money!

These are excellent shoes for the pool. My foot runs a little narrow but all I had to do was take of the toggle on the laces and just lace them up like regular shoes. They run very true to size. I am so happy to have them now because they offer a lot of support during my pool classes. Easy to dry too.

I typically wear a wide width shoe. This shoe, which comes only in medium width, fit just fine. They are very comfortable.
