I love New Balance Shoes. I ordered this shoe in a 6E way too tight, especially when I normally wear a 4E. People with wide feet beware. New Balance Team please fix the width issue on the shoes; it's becoming more and more of a problem. Zappos, thank you as always.

I have been wearing New Balance 9½EE for years, and they fit perfectly. These shoes in 9½EE was so small that I could barely get them on my feet. When I physically held up the 1569 against one of my older New Balance 9½, the difference was very obvious. The 1569 was much shorter and narrower. I have requested an exchange for the next larger size. By the way, the Zappos exchange and return policies and procedures are the best. There seems to be a problem with New Balance's sizing standards, but Zappos continues to be the only place to shop.

The shoe runs small (short). The sole is curved upward which makes for an uncomfortable and unnatural feel while walking or even standing.

The 1569 feels very rigid and I think runs a little shorter than sized. Not very comfortable. Too, the uppermost speedlace stirrup is quasi buried in the stitching and makes it a little difficult to lace properly!

Around 2004 or 2005, I bought a New Balance low top hiker in 13 4E, and it was so comfortable, I immediately bought another pair, which are just now wearing out. Trying to replace them, a size 14E in this shoe isn't nowhere close to big enough.

The shoe is comfortable and has good support but only after 4 months the seams started coming apart. For the price of this shoe it should last at least a year. Very disappointed in the wear.

Had to throw away expensive shoes after 6 months! Comfort is great. Style is fine and have been completely waterproof. Sole quality is unacceptable. After less than 6 months of regular wearing (just walking the dog a couple of times a day) the soles have completely worn through.

This shoe fits way smaller than advertised. I have a very wide foot (12 6E), and love NB sneakers which fit true to advertised size. I ordered the same size for this shoe, but it is way too snug. I will try a size larger if it ever comes into stock.

This shoe is not comfortable at all. The leather feels stiff in all the wrong places and the only thing I can say good about it is that the fit well as far as width goes. Also, for this price you would expect a good insert but it is nothing more than a thin piece of foam. The only light at the end of the tunnel was that I purchased some Superfeet inserts (orange) and the shoes feel much better. However, if I had the original box I would return them in a heartbeat.

I normally wear 6E shoes from New Balance/Dunham. I received a 6E pair of these, and they were incredibly tight. Very narrow and small toe box. A great looking shoe; however, for anyone with wide feet, this is not the shoe for you. Unbearably tight for me.

They are badly designed, the top part digs right into the bump on the outside of your ankle bone, they need to be about 2 inches taller. They caused ankle problem rubbing against the tendon on the outside of my ankle and I might need surgery. Not happy. The only plus side is they are a okay looking shoe, not ugly like most new balance ones.

After 2 prior attempts, at size 10 and 10.5, I found that size 11 fits my foot. I have never worn a show larger than 10. However, fitting is not enough. This stiff shoe digs into my ankle above the back of the shoe, making it painful to walk. I don't know how anyone would be able to wear these, but of course all feet are different.

Disappointed, if you have a high instep and wide foot probably not the shoe for you. I'll stick with the Dunham line. Which makes no sense being I believe they are owned by New Balance. It is a pleasure dealing with Zappos returns are absolutely no problem and it is easy to get your money back or a replacement shoe.

Really disappointed with New Balance since changing manufacturers. New Balance is all that I have bought since discovering them years ago. They always fit my wide feet perfectly. 9-2E. Not anymore. 9-6E now. I've barely been able to get 2 pair of hikers that fit, and one of those pair gave out and squeak, after 6 months. And they are still too narrow in the toe box. Sorry to say, but I'm moving on to another brand. Good luck New Balance.

My usual size in New Balance Country Walkers (and all other shoes) has always been 11 1/2 EE. Ordered the 1569 in 11 1/2 EE after New Balance Rep promised me they would fit the same as the previous models of which I have owned and loved at least 4 pairs. The 11 1/2 was clearly too small. Tried the 12...still too small...they do not make a 12 1/2 (only full sizes after 12, which is really 11) which would have equated to my size of 11 1/2 EE. Returned everything. New Balance...you really screwed up. How can you make a shoe which is clearly misrepresented by false sizing...and sell it online?! Feel like I should be compensated by New Balance for pain and suffering. Goodbye Country Walkers...it was a nice run.

I bought this shoe for my husband because the earlier NB 978 proved so comfortable. While the first pair we bought (all brown with black lining) has some of the same problems these with the orange lining have a pronounced and uncomfortable hard ridge along the seam inside the toe box that exactly hits the toes. VERY disappointed. Now we are searching for an alternative. Zappos service/delivery is excellent.
