I LOVE these boots. They are the perfect blend of attractive, edgy, and slightly distressed. They would only improve if you went out in the rain with them! However, I agree with previous reviewers that these boots are strangely snug in the arch area. I have tried on probably 35 Frye boots and I am always a 7.5, but with these I am ordering an 8.

Writing a review, even though I may not end up keeping these beautiful boots. At the time I ordered, there were no reviews, so it took 3 pair to find my right size. I own a pair of Frye Harness boots in size 7.5, so ordered a 7.5 and 8 (my normal size). I have now ordered 2 pair of size 8.5, which "fit", but with the first pair, the right boot was very, very difficult to get into (harder than the 7.5!) like the arch area was not normal (I don't have high arches). The second pair fit nicely, but the leather across the top of the right boot buckles - doesn't fit over the foot smoothly - making it look like a cheap boot. I really, reALLY, REALLY wanted these boots!! I thought ordering 2 pair, I could put together a good pair, but alas, neither right boot works. So very disappointed. I gave 5 stars for comfort because the foot bed is nice and the boot that fit was comfy. Truly appreciate Zappos' free shipping and return policy. Unfortunately, don't feel I can keep trying.

Love love love these. My daughter got a pair last X-mas and I couldn't help but notice how the height went with everything. So I had to get my own pair. Wore them all over Europe! I wear them with everything, they are smart and comfortable. The leather is stiff so wear thick socks, if you are walking miles. However, they break in nicely.

Ordered these and first pair dug into my ankle where the seam and buckle are very painful. Exchanged for a second pair, same style and size, and they were perfect. The leather is stiffer than I would have expected, but very high quality. I think they'll soften with wear and some leather conditioner. I can tell they'll last forever. p.s. Love the casual look of these boots. They are true to size and hit right at mid calf. They have a rugged appearance so if you're looking for something dressier, these are not for you.

LOVE! I am 5' 1" and most boots are too tall for me but these boots are perfect! They are super comfy. I wear them almost everyday now and my feet feel great. They look great with jeans and dresses.The leather is great quality that will ever be mistaken as cheap.

Great looking boot. A little stiff in the ankle area for me but I assume that will break in upon wear. I have athletic calves and these boots accommodate. Buy a half size up.

I loved these boots. After getting them on my feet - I wanted to keep them. Then I tried to walk. The leather buckled underneath the outside of each ankle so that when I walked, it pressed into the underside of the ankle bone with each step. It would definitely have rubbed the ankle raw, or would have bruised it. I even tried putting a pad down the side of the boot - then decided that for the price, there was no way that I would augment in this manner. The boots had to go back.

I finally made the leap and purchased a pair of Frye boots - and I love them! The look great, are exceptionally well made, and are comfortable. These are the kind of boots that last a lifetime, and I know that I will still be wearing them decades from now.

Love, love, love these boots! I looked long and hard, thought about the price and decided it was an investment and a treat so I did it. I went ahead and bought them and have not stopped wearing them! I even walked the dog with them on, they were so comfortable I forgot I was wearing boots. 7.5, my usual size fit like a charm, I have a regular width, and I wear my jeans, leggings and tights inside the calf part without issue. The distressed look was just enough that they didn't look brand new but not worn out. They strike me as a staple to most wardrobes and can go with jeans, skirts and leggings. I recommend!!

These boots are amazing! Beautiful and stylish but yet rugged and rock n roll! The leather is a little stiff at first but gets better even after a few minutes of wearing them. I have narrow feet so it is perfect. I read the reviews that said to order a half size up and I am glad I did they fit perfectly! The best of all is the speed of the shipping, just amazing!

These boots are extraordinarily comfortable and very high quality in both material and workmanship. I believe that they will honestly last my lifetime. I have a narrow foot and thin calf. I usually wear a 7 1/2 and these fit me perfectly-true to size. These are a reddish brown and come up to mid-calf.

I just received these today they are great Looking boots! They have that wonderful smell of real leather, I have a lot of Frye boots. These run true to size. I wear a 7 and they fit great. I cannot wait to wear them with my leggings. Thanks, Zappos, for great service!

Love these boots. I ordered a half size larger after reading other reviews and they fit beautifully. They arrived kind of creepy dirty; I assume as part of the "distressed" descriptor. I cleaned and oiled them thoroughly and I truly could not be more happy with them. I wear them all the time with all of my wardrobe, as they seem to me to be rustic yet refined.

Love these boots. Look great, fit great, dress up or down. My go to boot since the day I took them out of the box.

Based on the reviews, I wasn't expecting these to be at all comfortable. I usually fit a size 7 and bought these in a 7 1/2. They fit like a glove and are comfortable out of the box. They seem very well made and should last a long time.

As mentioned by others, these boots are the perfect combination of style and comfort. The distressed leather and 3 buckles give it a bit of stylish edge, and the top of the boot hits at just the right place for my 5'3" height. I ordered both the 9 B (usual size) and 9.5 B and returned the 9, which was a little too narrow in width and (buckled) a little too tight at the top. I have been wearing them everywhere now because they are so comfortable! I had almost forgotten about ordering from Zappos as I do love shopping for and trying on shoes at the stores in our large, metropolitan area. However, ordering from Zappos allowed me to choose from the hundreds (it seems) of Frye boots, which I could have never done with our brick and mortar stores. As a bonus, Zappos' customer service, fast shipping, and stress-free returns are world-class. Thank you!

I was a little hesitant to order these boots after reading some of the reviews. But they were exactly what I was looking for. Normally I wear an 8 so I ordered an 8 1/2. They fit perfectly. I love them and they are very comfortable!! I am very happy that I ordered them. And Zappos, once again, is great. I can't believe how quickly they arrive!!

These boots are fantastic! Like all Frye boots, these are well crafted and made to last. This particular style feels narrow (I have six pair of Frye boots) in the toe box area. I have a narrow foot so it's not really an issue for me, but I will need to wear socks on the thin side. If this is your first pair of Frye boots, be aware that these are not delicate and soft. They may require a break-in period, but in the long run they are well worth it. If taken care of, they'll last for years.

Thank you Zappos... Finally after trying many styles I found the boot! Ordered a half size larger than my normal size 7 because of information from the prior reviews.... and they fit perfect. My first pair of Frye boots and love them and love the smell of the leather . Thank you for making it so easy to order and return living up here in Alaska!

I ordered my regular size in these and had a boatload of trouble getting them on my feet. They are narrow, as all other reviewers have stated, (I definitely will not ever be wearing Proper boot socks with them) but it reminded me of putting on cowboy boots. They are really stiff and tight at first, but as they heat up, they seem to be softening a good deal. I am wearing them around the house in hopes that they will be comfortable enough that I feel confident keeping them. This is not the kind of money that I want to just throw away. Any good pair of leather boots needs to be broken in and the same seems true for these. Totally gorgeous, as always, Frye!

I think these boots are gorgeous, although the color I got is a little more red/purple than I thought they would be. These boots took quite a while to break in to the point where I would call them comfortable. there is still one spot on the right ankle bone that rubs oddly and actually has broken my skin on several occasions. I also wish there was just a bit more room in the toe box. I really love my Philips Harness Frye boots and thought I would try these, but they just are not as comfortable as those.

Switching these for the Veronica Shortie. Like the side buckles but the toe shape was too almond-y for a moto style boot. Great quality though!

I wanted to love these boots, the quality is fantastic and it's super cute. But at 5'1" I think they were just a weird length on my leg. I also had to order half a size up - and I'm glad I did - my foot is a bit wider and has a higher arch. My foot wouldn't have fit into the boot otherwise. The problem is that my toes were definitely further down the boot and the trade-off is it looked like I had massive feet! Sadly returned them. Might try a style with a rounder toe.
