I am looking for a leather sandal with a leather footbed. I need a sandal with good support for walking, and a little style. These were a little too utilitarian looking, and had no arch support. I really loved the leather sandals with cork bottoms that Teva used to carry. These are nowhere near as nice. I sent them back. Teva has a great refund policy and products are well made.

Years ago I had city sandals. I ordered these as a replacement. I wanted these to be my go to summer sandals. The fit is comfortable and I will keep them, but they lack style. They look like upscale flip-flops, so I will wear them to work. There is a fair amount of sole showing around my foot. The strap into the sole at the ankle seems very short (compare to the ankle strapped flip-flops). The quality is definitely less than in years past. I wish Teva would bring back the city sandals.

I have about 6 pairs of Teva's apparently none of mine are the original. These are not the same as the ones I have and size was different and did not feel as comfortable. Nice looking just didn't fit my feet so I am returning. I will know in the future I didn't get the original.

My feet swell in heat. The plastic triangles holding the straps dig into my flesh. Had I continued to wear them, I would have blistered from the friction. I have similar sandals from another company that have protective fabric under the strap connectors that prevent my feet from being injured. I have worn them 5 yr. Replacements are 1/2 the price. I spent the extra because I loved the colors. I see there are others your company makes, that have this kind of protection, but it doubles the price (4x the other brand) I am diabetic. I cannot afford to injure my feet. I am also on a limited income. I can't spend the kind of money you charge for the sandal that protects my feet and offers the great colors. leaves me no choice but to give the Teva's to a granddaughter, and go back to the mud colored, safe for my feet, other brand.

The flip=flop material soles were a disappointment. I have raved about my Teva's for years and when my daughter ordered some we were so disappointed.

An attractive purple (love a purple shoe!) sandal, but the toe side attachment cut right into the side of my wide forefoot. Have to return this one. No arch support but that is what I look for in a "neutral" shoe.

Quality not as good as sandals I bought as previously. The footbed looks and feels cheap. I bought these for extra support as I have a broken heel that was never set and can't wear flip flops. I have an older pair I bought years ago that had a lot of support in them and still do, except they are wearing out. I will have to buy a better quality sandal than this one.

There was a change in this sandal, the foot bed is rougher and the overall feel, feels cheaper. There was a certain comfort with the old style, which I do miss. Yes, the shoe was a bit heavier, but the comfort was there, not only on the foot bed but the straps. They've still made it stylish looking.

I found everything about the shoe great except the top surface that you place your foot on was not comfortable for me, I have other ate a sandals whereby that surface is so much more comfortable. That is why I returned them.

They're great if you don't have to do a lot of walking. The material on this particular style makes the bottoms of my feet feel raw if I walk too much in them.

I have used Tevas for a long time, and have always found them comfortable. This last par however have really bad grip on et surfaces. Hiking with them on wet rocks, muddy terrain was a nightmare. Still great for casual use, beach duty, etc, but not really river sandals.

I have several pair of Tevas and never noticed that these had a different inner sole. My feet hurt when I walk on them. I'm trying to find a solution but I won't wear these the way they are.

I use them (Originals first issue, Hurricanes and back to Originals II) almost all the time and used to get about a year's life before the sole wore through. They are my constant companion- I even have a Teva tan in winter (So. Cal.). Recent models have deteriorated in quality- one Hurricane model- the sole came loose; glued it back numerous times. It looked like the cement was applied as a few strips and not as a continuous layer. My most recent pair- the new Originals, purchased online in August, 2014, have begun to come apart; the sole layers are separating. I still wear them, but am disappointed I don't get the same wear as before. I like them so much that I can put up with some of these shortcomings, but since I knew them from earlier times, I know they can do better at the factory to improve/return to the higher degree of craftsmanship present in the original sandals that were made in USA. If possible, I would like to exchange them for another pair so that my pair can be thoroughly inspected. I don't know if sample pairs coming in are chosen at random and checked out for quality control just to ensure high standards are being maintained. I was not compensated to write this review. I am only interested in that my Tevas give me good service. I would recommend them- in fact my wife wears them and she really likes them. So far, there hasn't been a problem with her pair.

I was disappointed in these. I have an original pair of leather Tevas and I love them. But these have no arch support, very little tread and the leather is rough. I sent them back

I was hoping that this sandal would truly be like the original, but it feels more like a lower quality knock-off. The soles are very bendy and just don't feel the same. I like the new color combinations, but the construction just doesn't match the original.

I am a long time owner of the Teva Universal style having bought my first pair in 1993, and still have my 1995 pair. I am pleased that Teva brought back this style but disappointed with two features of the new Universals. First, is the omission of the adjustable rear strap; that allowed the wearer to position his foot arch exactly on the footbed arch support. Second is the very soft and spongy foam footbed on the new Universal. I now feel every pebble through the sole; it is a bit like wearing bedroom slippers outside. The original Universals had a much firmer, almost hard footbed which I prefer. Still, it is a move in the right direction by Teva to return to the minimal strapping of this style.

I purchased these as a substitute for $2 flip-flops hoping they would be more solidly constructed and not fall apart in the middle of an airplane flight like happened with my flip-flops last year. They performed satisfactorily in that role. However, I've only had them a bit over a month and the strap material is already fraying into a fine fuzz at the edges. I haven't worn them that much so I'm a bit disappointed -- for the price, I hoped for something that would last several years of regular use, but I don't expect that at this rate. They are also much harder to put on than flip-flops -- obvious if you think about it, since there are two velcro straps that have to be maneuvered (I can usually slide my foot in under the front one and only have to undo and redo the back one) -- but I didn't expect it. So, I'd say they are better used for longer walks, hikes, and treks, just like the description suggests, not for casual wear in and out of the house (if you take your shoes off in the house). The size was exactly right (I measured my feet according to the sizing chart) and the velcro straps can be adjusted to hold them to my feet solidly, without any of the sloppiness you get with flip-flops. I also like the styling and might have bought another pair if they fit my lifestyle better.

The original Teva had a soft inner surface and was shaped to give some support. This model is different and seems less comfortable.

Got my first Tevas years ago. After a year or two they started to stink, so got a new pair. I love them because they're soft underfoot, very good for walking. The two most recent pairs started to stink almost immediately. I literally wash them after every wearing, and they're still funky. Other sandals, including Chacos, don't get this way as fast. Because of the comfort, I haven't given them up.

These sandals sold under "Original Universal Teva's" tag are not that bad for the money but compared to the real "Originals" they are not in the same ball park. I would pay twice the price to get my hands on a pair of those babies. The closest resemblance here are the Velcro straps. Although they are thinner and flimsier they are functionally the same. The soles are not even close to the first pair I had owned. I would expect a year at best out of these soles. Did these go to China too? Please go back to the basics and the consumer will follow!

These are extremely comfortable. However, I was disappointed in the quality of the sole. It is already starting to shred a bit at the toe, and I have had them for about a month. If I were going to purchase another pair, which I probably will, I would get the ones with a more rugged sole.
