Great to slip on with jeans, casual outdoorsy skirts, etc.

I have several pair of Tevas and never noticed that these had a different inner sole. My feet hurt when I walk on them. I'm trying to find a solution but I won't wear these the way they are.

I love Teva sandals but this Original line is uncomfortable because of the rough inside of the sole.

I use them (Originals first issue, Hurricanes and back to Originals II) almost all the time and used to get about a year's life before the sole wore through. They are my constant companion- I even have a Teva tan in winter (So. Cal.). Recent models have deteriorated in quality- one Hurricane model- the sole came loose; glued it back numerous times. It looked like the cement was applied as a few strips and not as a continuous layer.
My most recent pair- the new Originals, purchased online in August, 2014, have begun to come apart; the sole layers are separating. I still wear them, but am disappointed I don't get the same wear as before.
I like them so much that I can put up with some of these shortcomings, but since I knew them from earlier times, I know they can do better at the factory to improve/return to the higher degree of craftsmanship present in the original sandals that were made in USA.
If possible, I would like to exchange them for another pair so that my pair can be thoroughly inspected. I don't know if sample pairs coming in are chosen at random and checked out for quality control just to ensure high standards are being maintained.
I was not compensated to write this review. I am only interested in that my Tevas give me good service.
I would recommend them- in fact my wife wears them and she really likes them. So far, there hasn't been a problem with her pair.

I was disappointed in these. I have an original pair of leather Tevas and I love them. But these have no arch support, very little tread and the leather is rough. I sent them back

These aren't like the Original but they will do. I had a similar experience with some Sperry flip-flops. Once the bottom line is compromised with bad workmanship, things change for the worse.

I was hoping that this sandal would truly be like the original, but it feels more like a lower quality knock-off. The soles are very bendy and just don't feel the same. I like the new color combinations, but the construction just doesn't match the original.

I am a long time owner of the Teva Universal style having bought my first pair in 1993, and still have my 1995 pair. I am pleased that Teva brought back this style but disappointed with two features of the new Universals. First, is the omission of the adjustable rear strap; that allowed the wearer to position his foot arch exactly on the footbed arch support. Second is the very soft and spongy foam footbed on the new Universal. I now feel every pebble through the sole; it is a bit like wearing bedroom slippers outside. The original Universals had a much firmer, almost hard footbed which I prefer.
Still, it is a move in the right direction by Teva to return to the minimal strapping of this style.

I purchased these as a substitute for $2 flip-flops hoping they would be more solidly constructed and not fall apart in the middle of an airplane flight like happened with my flip-flops last year. They performed satisfactorily in that role.
However, I've only had them a bit over a month and the strap material is already fraying into a fine fuzz at the edges. I haven't worn them that much so I'm a bit disappointed -- for the price, I hoped for something that would last several years of regular use, but I don't expect that at this rate.
They are also much harder to put on than flip-flops -- obvious if you think about it, since there are two velcro straps that have to be maneuvered (I can usually slide my foot in under the front one and only have to undo and redo the back one) -- but I didn't expect it. So, I'd say they are better used for longer walks, hikes, and treks, just like the description suggests, not for casual wear in and out of the house (if you take your shoes off in the house).
The size was exactly right (I measured my feet according to the sizing chart) and the velcro straps can be adjusted to hold them to my feet solidly, without any of the sloppiness you get with flip-flops. I also like the styling and might have bought another pair if they fit my lifestyle better.

Got my first Tevas years ago. After a year or two they started to stink, so got a new pair. I love them because they're soft underfoot, very good for walking. The two most recent pairs started to stink almost immediately. I literally wash them after every wearing, and they're still funky. Other sandals, including Chacos, don't get this way as fast. Because of the comfort, I haven't given them up.

These sandals sold under "Original Universal Teva's" tag are not that bad for the money but compared to the real "Originals" they are not in the same ball park. I would pay twice the price to get my hands on a pair of those babies.
The closest resemblance here are the Velcro straps. Although they are thinner and flimsier they are functionally the same. The soles are not even close to the first pair I had owned. I would expect a year at best out of these soles. Did these go to China too? Please go back to the basics and the consumer will follow!

These are extremely comfortable. However, I was disappointed in the quality of the sole. It is already starting to shred a bit at the toe, and I have had them for about a month. If I were going to purchase another pair, which I probably will, I would get the ones with a more rugged sole.

Possibly needed to size down, the straps hurt my pinky toe and ended up rubbing a blister on the top of my big toe where the straps sit. I am normally a size 7.

The heel strap is too long and not adjustable. This makes my heel hang off the back edge of the sandal. Not good. In order to wear these I will have to disassemble the heel strap and sew on Velcro so I can adjust it.

I am extremely disappointed in the quality and construction of these sandals. Although I like the look of the sandal, they are not safe to wear. Feet slide around and rubber sole "catches" on floor surfaces. The inner sole material is uncomfortable the longer you wear them. I have been a Teva wearer for years but now I am doubtful.

Fit is perfect. Sandal is fine. But there is one GREAT BIG DEFECT. The tab to pull open the Velcro strap is right next to the tag that says TEVA. Every time I grab for the TAB to open the strap, I get the TAG that says TEVA. Tag and tab should NEVER be in the same place. Never never never! Please tell TEVA to move that name tag to another place. Get it away from the strap tab. Look at the sandal pictures here. See that TEVA name tag? The tab to open the strap is right there too. Fix this and these are fine sandals. As-is, not so much.

Didn't know these have a high Arch Support and it feels like I'm standing on a bottle on the insides of my foot. I like them a lot but wish they had a description if these were made more for people with a high arch vs a low or even a flat footbed

I didn't know when I ordered it that the heel strap is NOT adjustable. That makes it so I can not position my toes in the straps properly.

Runs true to size in length and width. Good quality fabric in upper and had a cool pattern. However, arch support is a must for me and this sandal had NONE. I have high arches. I read the product description, which said it had some arch support, as well as reviews. Seemed good to go. However, the sole does not conform to one's foot and I felt zero support. I wore them once to walk the dog and was in a lot of pain. Absolutely could not tolerate these shoes. If you need arch support, then choose Chacos or something else, though on Chacos, I'd avoid the toe loop, as it didn't stay put and tightens up. I continued to wear my Chacos even though the toe loop didn't work for me and tried the Teva as an alternative. Simply cannot wear Teva, period. Wish I could! I've returned the Tevas after talking with customer service.
I'd also recommend:
Chacos

They are confortable and beautiful but the grip is really bad!!!! Today I fell for the fourth time in 15 days.
Before I had the hurricane model and there is SUCH A BIG DIFFERENCE, with that ones I could go even trekking.
I am disappointed, before I was so happy about my teva for 5 years.

I bought these for a trip to Costa Rica. Even thought I had them as tight as possible I kept tripping over the front of the sole. The sold is not the hiking one you may want. We went on some hikes and they were not suitable for it. I had to purchase something else. They are cute, though, just not for hiking.

The "earth-friendly recycled polyester webbing" gives this sandal's footbed a texture that feels more like an abrasive exfoliator than an insole. While otherwise a cute sandal that fit well, the uncomfortable footbed meant that I could not comfortably wear it without socks, so I am initiating a return.
