I was looking for a comfortable dressy boot but functional. This seemed to fit the bill, Not as dressy as I thought but a nice boot, durable material and great tread. Sole does not have much support and rides low.

I searched on zappos for "wide calf" boots and these came up on the search list. I did my research, which was time consuming, looking for boots that would not pinch my calves. I am not a big girl at all, but my legs are strong and I have 17" calves. I liked the feel of these sturdy boots, I could tell they were made well. But I could barely zip them up. Too bad.

Unfortunately, these didn't work for me. They are super cute, and fit well in the foot, but didn't fit my calf. I measure 16" at the widest part of my calf, but I could only zip these up halfway. My search continues.

There is no way this boot has a 16.5 circumference - I have larger calves and ordered a size 8.5, even though I'm a pretty solid size 8 - and not only was the shaft too tight (couldn't zip up more than half way) but the foot felt way small as well! I though I was getting winter boots, but these were super tight and too "delicate" for walking around in the weather. I was really disappointed in how narrow and thin these boots were, but I have bigger bones and wanted more of a chunky boot. My calves aren't THAT big, but these are miss-sized if you ask me.

I really wanted to like these boots but when they arrived one was smaller than the other (though both tagged as a size 8. Also there is really no arch support. If I were to keep them I'd have to purchase an insole. Also, delivery was oddly slow. Not usual for Zappos.

I got these boots because I've enjoyed a pair just like them in the "Bison" color for years now. Those had become my go-to boots for fall and winter due to their extreme comfort and waterproof feature. They even supported my tired feet through an entire pregnancy. That being said, I was optimistic that the De La Vina in black would be just as wonderful and add another color to my wardrobe. It's sad to say, they did not stack up. While the fit felt accurate and the foot bed was cushy, the boots reeked. I don't know if it is the dye or the waterproofing, but the boots had such a strong and nauseating odor I could not stand it. I tried to let them "air out" for a few days, but it only served to stink up the whole house! My old boots never had a smell, not even a leather smell, so I don't know what was wrong with these ones. Needless to say, buyer beware. They might be cute and comfortable but I couldn't stand the stink!

I love Tevas but the insole to these boots ripped only a year into having them and I can no longer wear them. The outer clip also easy comes off. They are warm and sturdy on the exterior but I couldn't believe how easily the interior wore.

The fit of these boots is not comfortable. The heel of the boot is smaller than where my natural heel ends. I ended up feeling the ending of heel portion of the boot with every step. The style is really good, too bad.

Love the way the boot looks. Tried it on with a pair of skinny jeans, no problem pulling zipper over calf. A little too snug so returning it for a half size larger, but even snug it felt very comfortable.

Sending it back...just does not have the support I need. I even went up a whole size and it was still small. The shoe did not look as good as I thought it would in the pictures. Runs really wide at the calf.

I would like the boot better if both feet had been the same however, this particular pair were defective and I returned them. The one piece of advice I can give to the shorter gal with thicker calves is that they do make you look like you're standing in a bucket. This is due to the flare at the mid-calf. Not flattering. However, very comfortable footbed and bonus, waterproof. Zappos, as always, great service.

Disapointed in the craftmanship. Returning.

I previously owned the Teva De La Vina shoes in brown - they lasted for about 3 winters before they needed to be replaced. I wore them constantly in the winter and the rain, and loved them. When I went to replace then, I decided that black might be a nice change. I was expecting to receive the same boots I had previously had, except black. I was very disappointed in my order. The texture feels almost rubbery and the look is nothing like my previous ones. I'm not sure if this is due to the fact that I ordered a different color, but these were not the boots that I have grown to love over the past 3 years. Right now I'm debating between ordering the brown pair and hoping this is just an issue with the black ones or finding another go to winter boot.

I wanted to like these boots, the reviews were so good! And I know the quality is good. But I thought they were unattractive and felt that the support was not what I needed. The soles seemed rather thin for a sturdy boot. I live in the snow and need something that's going to be sturdy on the ice and snow as well as warm, and I felt like with these I would have cold soles. The shaft is insulated but it looks like a pretty cheap fabric that would snag or tear easily. They also ran very small! I'm a standard size 9, ordered a 9 1/2 and could barely get my foot in them. If you have a high arch or need arch support, you should consider ordering a full size up so you can get your foot in and add an arch support insole. Oddly enough, the 9 1/2 "De La Vina Low" boot fit perfectly, with room for thick socks. Weird. The brown color is nice dark brown color, but the texture is waxy and oily. Some might like it but it was not for me. I ordered the "De La Vina Low" in Bison and in my opinion that color and texture is much nicer than the Brown. Both are going back though. I also think Teva puts way too much emphasis on their label being visible. There were other Teva boots I was interested in but the label was far too prominent. I don't want to be a walking advertisement! I'm glad other people liked these boots, but I did not at all.
