This was exactly the coat I've been looking for! I tried a few parkas -ok, MANY parkas! - including very popular highly reviewed brands, but this coat came out on top for me. I HATE to be cold and this coat passed the test! It is extremely warm and holds up nicely against the brutal Boston wind tunnels. It comes down to my knees, so the coverage is excellent. The upper body inner lining is fleece- SO NICE! The sleeves have a fleece cuff to keep wind and snow out, which is an added luxury. The two side pockets and two inside chest pockets are very roomy and zip to keep items from falling out. The adjustable, removable hood is down-filled like the coat, so your head stays warm as well. I'm 5'5" and 135 lbs and the medium fits well but it would be snug with a heavy sweater, BUT with this coat, you won't need one!

The BEST winter coat I've ever owned. I'd fallen in love with this coat but was hesitant to purchase. I went with a cheaper version first and couldn't get the Marmot Montreaux out of my head. Ended up ordering this one and selling the cheaper one I'd bought. This coat is SO warm. I walk kids to school in single digit temps and don't feel a bit of chill. Love the soft fleece cuff inside the sleeve. It's surprisingly stylish for this type of coat - figure flattering and doesn't swallow me up at 5'3". The fur trim on the hood really adds to the overall look of the coat. Do not hesitate. My only slight complaint is that the zipper can be tricky to "catch", but otherwise - perfection. I look forward to wearing this coat for many winters to come!

Love this coat! This is my second down coat and this one is true to size and incredibly comfortable. I'm 5'5" & 135 lbs and the size small is perfect for my size. So comfy!

Feels like a sleeping bag. Warm and soft inside. Material on outer part of jacket feels delicate and could possibly rip easily. Runs very small. I ordered XL, I'm 5'9" and 195. Zips snug.

Love the fit of the jacket and that it is not bulky. I sized up from my usual medium as I find Marmot items run smaller. My only complaint is that it sheds a lot of feathers. There are constantly little white feathers poking out of my black jacket.

this is a fabulous soft light weight warm coat but the pix shows it above the knee...definitely not! it's way below the knee and I'm 5'10" tall...I absolutely love it but way too long. I don't live in the north where it would be perfect! will contemplate keeping it just because it's so awesome and warm and cute!

This coat is beautiful, both color and style. Unfortunately, the photo is very misleading as the coat I received went halfway between my knee and ankle. And I'm 5'9"! Not sure how tall that model is... it's much too long for me so I have to return it.

In many ways I really like this coat. I love the length and style and the fact that is a higher fill down, but I feel like this coat not only runs small in general, but the sleeve length is too short and it seems too tight across shoulder area in general. I am tall at 5'9" but I don't feel like I have exceptionally long arms or broad shoulders. Had to return due to this. Otherwise, it is pretty warm and cozy and looks stylish.

I did not give this coat 5 stars only because it runs small, especially in the shoulders/chest. For reference, I am 5'2", 105 lbs., and a 34A. I am usually an XS in Marmot coats, and typically have room to spare in the chest area, but this fits tightly. The small, however, was a little TOO big and shapeless. So I ended up going with the XS, and I avoid wearing particularly chunky sweaters underneath. My second complaint is with the hood: when you remove the fur trim, it barely is large enough to cover my forehead -- so I pretty much never use the hood and always wear hats. (I usually wear hats, though, so this doesn't bother me.) Other than these issues, this is a really great, warm, and protective coat. I was deciding between a Canada Goose coat and this, but I was turned off by the ethical controversies surrounding that brand (and the fur) and so went with Marmot. It's been in the teens here, with strong winds, and my upper body and most of my legs are kept warm in this coat.

I had the same issues with sizing as the others. I ordered an XS for both my daughter and I to try. I am 5' 110lbs and she is 4'11 and 90-ish lbs.. The chest was too snug on me wearing a tank top with a shelf bra, no padding or underwire even; I'm a saggy 36B. My daughter is 12 and small enough to not need anything with a cup and it was too tight for her. If you are lucky enough to have more going on or have padding in your bra, order up. And maybe up again. We both also felt a lot of pulling in the back. I bent at the hips to pick something up and felt it pulling into my underarms and thought it was going to rip. Tight enough it reminded me of times in a dressing room having an "uh oh" moment if I could get out of the dress on my own and/or without ripping it. It was long enough on us that it hit mid-shin and bordered on looking like we were melting. My daughter could grow a bit more and there was no way she was getting more than 1 winter out of this, and for the price, I need a few winters out of it to be happy. So keep that in mind if you are buying for a teen. The hood was bananas. Huge and deep with major diminished vision from the sides on top. I would take it off to safely cross the street. I felt like the Grim Reaper, and my face was just as invisible. I just don't need a hood that deep and large. The real bummer was the warmth. We walked outside at night, 30-ish degrees, very light wind and were cozy, but not as warm as I thought. I expected to be sweltering. If it was under 20 with wind, I don't think it would've been enough. It was such a let down because I thought this coat was close to being (I've never tried one on) Canada Goose warm, which I just can't do. Lastly, I ordered the Montreal as well and it seems to be a shorter version of this one. Exact same fit and warmth issues but hit above the knees. Keep in mind how short we are. When it was just a fit problem, I was going to order a S and maybe a M for me, but we when both were outside for less than 10 mins and my daughter didn't think it would be warm enough for the bus stop and ride, I changed my mind. Also keeping in mind with a wet snow or rain, this wouldn't work and I don't want to buy 2 winter coats just for that. It seems like a great coat but we are too thick, short and wimpy in cold weather. Happy shopping!

The coat fits well and is warm, but I noticed that only 1 week into wearing it, the down feathers are starting to "leak" through the puffer fabric and shed.

It's true that this coat is super warm, but the fit is terrible. It is not shaped for hourglass or pear shaped people. I have a small waist and wide hips, and since this coat is shaped like a rectangle, I literally look like a burrito. I ordered a size large so that it can fit over my hips comfortably, but everywhere else it is super baggy. I'm not sure if I will keep it or not because I just feel so ugly in this. I wish there was at least a drawstring to tighten the waist or a belt. But, if warmth is the ONLY thing you care about, it definitely check that box.

I love this coat! Was so excited about it arriving just in time for the cold weather down South. But it's too small through the chest. I know many of the "Athletic" ski brands run small but I was holding out hope. Anyway...I am sad. It is awesome! Order up if you are normal sized and above! Admittedly, I am not a small girl and am particularly broad through the chest and shoulders. I would say the XXL is a 14-16.

This is a warm coat. The zipper doesn't work and I've nearly pulled it off, next the coat is shedding feathers. I would not recommend this coat. The quality is poor, the fit is very narrow but a positive- it's warm but not well-made.

I bought this exact same coat 5 years ago -(or so I thought ). Thought I would get a second as my first one is well worn . This new “ exact “ cost is hugely inferior in fill , quality ( zipper, patchy down etc). Super nice color so I wish it worked!

Should have taken the 1-2 star reviews into more consideration. Zipper is definitely faulty and cheap. It won't align and zip up. Fabric of coat stains VERY easily. Otherwise, coat is very warm and fashionable. I bought for 50% off sale and wouldn't pay a penny more for this coat. Definitely not worth the full price. Sending to manufacturer to have zipper replaced.

Be aware that if you order a size larger than normal for your torso, that the arms will be a size larger as well. I ordered an XL because of the comments, and the body was fine, but the arms were too large and very unflattering. So it had to go back. My advice would be, if you are thin, order your normal size. However, if you are normal weight or a little round around the hips or middle, don't waste your time ordering this one. Zappos is great, as always!

This is an incredibly warm yet light and comfortable coat. And it has a very flattering fit; not too puffy. Unfortunately, the amount of down feathers that consistently bled from the coat forced me to return it. I was so upset about having to return this coat. I tried to hang on for a few months and I kept using a lint roller to remove the feathers, but the leakage was ridiculous and never-ending. Either the seams were not sewn tight enough or the down just penetrated the fabric. It is just too bad. I really wanted to love and keep this coat! It was so warm and light.

I ordered this jacket just this weekend and was thrilled to have it delivered promptly today. Upon opening it, however, the jacket labeled "Black" is clearly BROWN! The only black you will find on the jacket is on the INSIDE of it and on the inside of the hood. The rest is clearly a chocolate brown which doesn't go with any of my boots, hats, scarves, etc. If I wanted a brown jacket, I'd have ordered one! Quality of the coat is perfect - light weight and nice fabric. Just the wrong color. Very disappointed that at this time of year - my search continues for a long black jacket. Will be returning this tomorrow and likely not ordering from here again. I don't have time for this.

This is a super cute and cozy coat that I primarily got to walk my dog in the winter. However, it's so warm and cute that I can see wearing it as my primary coat all winter long. My typical size is a small, but I ordered both a small and a medium due to other reviewer comments and kept the small. I am 5'7" and 120lb.

The sleeve holes were a little too small to wear a heavy sweater under the coat.

Love this coat! Size chart suggested M but I ordered L based on reviews and was glad I did. It does run smaller in chest. Very nice quality. Definitely would recommend.

I love this coat! I have it in navy, 8 years now, and bought it on sale last year in the olive green. This coat fits great and is so warm!

I love this coat! It is so nice, very cozy and soft. Also, it is very flattering for a puffer!
