Full-coverage coat that goes down to your knees and has a flattering cut. Super soft as well, which I didn't realize was important in a winter coat. And it has lots of convenient pockets and room for layering. I don't think it's quite heavy enough for Midwest deep dark winters, but maybe layering a light puffer underneath as well as a sweater will be the key.

This coat is a cold weather staple! Definitely recommend. I was wary because of the reviews that said people had issues with the zipper but its been a non issue for me? Very warm, feels lightweight, keeps the legs warm too. True to size. Im usually a small and this allows me to wear a moderately heavy sweater or layer under it and still be comfy. Buy it!!

Im in love with my new jacket! Its extremely warm, excellent quality, and I love the more fitted cut. I get lots of compliments when I wear it. Im extremely satisfied with my purchase.

This is a warm coat. The zipper doesnt work and Ive nearly pulled it off, next the coat is shedding feathers. I would not recommend this coat. The quality is poor, the fit is very narrow but a positive- its warm but not well-made.

Im always feel cold. I dont feel it when I wear this.

I ordered a medium for a little extra room to layer. Not much shape to the coat, but again warmth outside with my kids was my top priority. This coat definitely fits the bill.

I received this in a size small as a gift (based on the other two mermaid coats, that I own in a size small), but it was too tight across the chest and shoulders. Thats surprising, because Im small chested (57, 139#, 32B) with an average/somewhat athletic build. With the help of a very kind and professional customer service rep, I was able to return and re-ordered a coat and a medium. It arrived this week, and I couldnt be more disappointed. I look like a popped tube of biscuits. The shoulders fit exactly (not roomy), but the rest of the coat is huge. Ill be sending it back. I tried to add photos of both the small and medium, but couldnt get them to upload.

Typical Marmot high quality. As a family, we own several pieces from Marmot. The only thing with this coat is that it might run just a bit small, not quite a full size though. Marmot is our go to for outdoor gear, whether clothing or tents and such.

Warm coat, a present for my wife. She really likes the warmth and fit, I noticed she has a little trouble with the zipper, keeps me from rating full five stars.

I sized up to the large to accommodate bulky sweaters, so the Large fits but not with the extra room I wanted. Keeping it despite the negatives because I need a warm coat and don't feel like testing others.

My clay colored Montreau that I have loved for several years became stained and I began to look for another coat and just could not find one that I liked equally as well. I had a thought, maybe I can find a used one not realizing that Marmot still makes them. and was absolutely thrilled to find That they did! I ordered my second one and it was the same quality! The pocket fabric is decent, it doesnt snag my hands when theyre dry. The zipper was it a little bit better on the old coat, but it was still better than the one on the Montreal coat.

This coat is just long enough to keep the knees warm but allows you to move. I love that the top inner coat is fleece lined. My only qualm is that the chest is tight if you are a DD. Its not so tight that you cant still move your arms

This is one of the best purchases I have ever made. Warmest coat I own and I love the length. Highly recommend if youre looking for just one coat to keep you warm!

It's true that this coat is super warm, but the fit is terrible. It is not shaped for hourglass or pear shaped people. I have a small waist and wide hips, and since this coat is shaped like a rectangle, I literally look like a burrito. I ordered a size large so that it can fit over my hips comfortably, but everywhere else it is super baggy. I'm not sure if I will keep it or not because I just feel so ugly in this. I wish there was at least a drawstring to tighten the waist or a belt. But, if warmth is the ONLY thing you care about, it definitely check that box.

Received as a gift, ended up buying one for my mom because she loved how soft and light mine was. Doesnt have a windbreaker aspect and definitely not for less than 30 degrees F but keeps you cozy

Being a bit broad shouldered, I wish the chest/shoulder area was a little looser. Otherwise, love this jacket and would buy again.

I thought that since Ive had this coat for 7 years and am now trying to identify a replacement, Id share my insights in the hopes of Marmot updating this long standing design. First, the good: this coat is luxuriously warm. The cozy fur lining and fluffy down got me through hours long hangouts on lake ice in below zero temps and through a record -53 degree day here in Minnesota. Theres no velcro, a godsend with scarves and gloves, and the storm flap is interior so no futzing. It has a femme shape and the interior pockets are cavernous. I have been very satisfied with it for these reasons. Things Id change: Wimpy zippers. Mine failed and I managed to repair by hand, but for a coat this size the zippers are laughable. Tiny handwarmer pockets, few exterior pockets, not enough pocketspeople have mittens and car keys and phones. I dont want to open my coat in the cold to get to stuff. And Ive dropped things out of the shallow hand pockets. You could make better use of the inside space near the legs for some more drop in pockets. Narrow shouldersat this point Id probably need to replace my medium with a large to fit heavy sweatersmy shirt size is usually XS-S. The hood doesnt like to stay zipped to the coat. Id be extra excited for built in carry straps ;) And a final comment. The length is great for standing at bus stops, not so great for getting in a car. I think next time Id get the shorter version provided these issues were addressed.

This coat is perfect for our frigid Minnesota winters. Im happy I opted for a little longer version as it definitely adds extra comfort and warmth. The only thing Ive noticed there are lots of little feathers escaping, so hopefully, that ceases soon. Overall, a great coat, and good quality.

Just bought this cost for New York winter and its great!! Super warm and cuts the wind.

Zipper gets stuck at times but otherwise it is a warm coat

My winter mantra is "I can stay happy as long as I'm warm." I've owned the Montreaux coat for over a month and I am extremely happy with my purchase. It has kept me warm and cozy during some bitterly cold NJ January days and plain old cold days, too. I love the navy blue color and the soft inner lining around my neck. I am 5'2 and usually wear an XS, but purchased S after reading reviews about the coat fitting tightly. I have room to move when I wear a thick sweatshirt so purchasing up one size was good advice. My only complaint is that it occasionally loses its down, which surprised me since the coat is so new. Still, I am very satisfied with my purchase and would recommend the Montreaux coat to friends.
