Great sandal---chic, minimalistic, well made, comfortable---but sizing is tricky. I am a solid size 8 (and a 7.5 in heels), but the toes of one foot were right at the edge of these sandals, so I returned them for an 8.5. This helped with the fit in terms of length, but it made the rest of the shoe fit more loosely. I still debated keeping them---because they really are the perfect casual sandals for summer skirts, dresses, and shorts---but I found a very comfortable and better fitting sandal from Frye, so I ultimately returned these.

Classic styling. Sturdy construction. Quality materials. I have one small complaint, my foot makes a sticking sound when I walk; I am hoping this will lessen as the sandals are broken in and the leather softens.

Love Bernardo sandals, but something has changed since I used to buy them. This pair was way too short and I will have to go up a whole size next time I buy a pair. Width was great for my fairly wide foot, but heels and toes almost over the edge.

Generally I love Bernardo, which is a well made brand. This shoe was a bit odd though. They run a bit large so my usual size is a bit small and a half size bigger is a bit too wide. Also, the first one I ordered was damaged- the slip knot across the top was twisted underneath and if I untwisted it underneath, it became twisted on top. Also, the strap that runs from the middle of the shoe to the toe is a little bit too long- on one pair, it totally gapped and looked odd. Because red is a hard color to find, I ended up keeping the bigger pair and hope as the leather becomes worn in to the shape of my foot, it will be more comfortable. Will probably put one of those clear rubbery insoles in it.

I am typically an 8 1/2, with a somewhat narrow foot but most sandals are fine in terms of width on me. The 8 1/2 was just slightly too short, but very comfortable otherwise. A little on the wide side too but I would have been OK with that if they'd been the right length. So I tried size 9. But then 9s were the right length but definitely way too wide. They slopped around on my feet. I was so bummed since I love the style, they seemed well made and comfortable for everyday use. I sadly had to return both sizes.

Light Camel Calf color is gorgeous - a true nude on my pale white skin. I normally wear 8 or 8.5. There wasn't an 8.5 in that color so I ordered both 8 and 9. The 8 was ridiculously small. The 9 fit well if I shorted the buckled back strap. They look great. Even feel pretty good, although my foot did slide from side to side a bit as I walked (I have very narrow feet). BUT. I could not stand the sound they make while walking in them. You know the sound. A sort of suction smacking with each step - like nails on a chalkboard! I returned them.

Love the look and style, and was looking for a sandal with leather lining. Other reviewers were correct. This sandal does run a little small. And my foot did not seem to want to stay in the foot bed. Not sure if this is due to the shape of the shoe, strap design or my foot. So this pair is going back.

I bought these sandals 10 years ago and they are just now starting to rip and fall apart (on the fabric parts on the sides attaching the leather strap to the foot). They are comfortable and stylish and I would say 10 years is a decent amount of time for shoes. However they are not as durable as Birkenstocks which is why I rate them 3/5.

Really cute, but pulled to the side a little making my heel come off the back inside of the shoe. Maybe a different shape foot would work better. Sending them back.

I ordered this sandal and finally got it, I actually waited 1 month for it and now that I have it, the toe part has to be fixed cause a person must have broken it and returned the shoe without letting Zappo know that the strap was broken

They are very nice looking but they have three faults: 1. The toe ring is too small and you might have to resort to applying some oil on your big toe to get it in. Even then, they squeeze your toe so much it apply too much pressure and you don't keep them on for too long. Probably dangerous for your blood circulation. 2. I would prefer other material like rubber rather than leather for the sole and better to repair. They make too much noise when you walk and look awfully dirty when you take them off. 3. The price is too high.

Looked great, but oddly proportioned. The toe strap is huge and didn't hold my foot in place at all. Overall, the length seemed to be a bit too short. No padding or arch support.

It's a cute shoe, but it felt really awkward on my foot. I have size 7.5 narrow feet with a high instep. The strap across my foot was snug but reasonably comfortable. The toe strap wasn't too tight to me, but I have long toes. Lengthwise, it felt about right for a size 7.5- no toe hang. Width-wise, I had problems. I felt like my heel was hanging off either side of the shoe. I also had issues with the seams feeling like rawhide. Overall, I wasn't really impressed and sent them back.

What a cute sandal - ordered it in red. It is a true, bright, flashy red. The sole is leather and very well made - I am not a fan of rubber, flexible soles on shoes. The toe ring is small and I had trouble getting my big toe into it. The strap across the top of my foot was very tight, even with the elastic at one side. I don't have an incredibly high arch so I was very surprised. The strap around the back of the foot fits; however, it's so long that my foot sits kind of loosey-goosey on the heel. After walking in them for a bit it became evident that my foot did not fit onto the sandal bed - instead my heels landed crookedly. As I walked the sandal shifted so eventually my food was halfway off the sandal. I thought this would correct itself as the strap over my foot loosened, but it did not. Very cute - just doesn't work for me.

I wanted to love these sandals but they are so uncomfortable. I thought the toe ring would be enough but my heel slides around too much, and if I tighten the ankle strap then it’s too uncomfortable around my toe. These sandals were very expensive and I regret this purchase. I have another pair of heels from Bernardo and they are amazing!

I was very disappointed with these shoes. They are not cheap shoes. I've worn them about (4) times and the sole of the sandal has separated, split in two layers. So strange. Maybe the last time I will buy a Bernardo, although I do love the way these sandals looked. It's a shame. Poor quality.
