I should have trusted the reviews and ordered the larger size to start! I wear a size 12 top and bottom, and while the Size L jacket fit in the arms and chest, it barely closed across my hips. Thankfully a quick exchange got me a great coat. I love that it's functional and fashionable. I ordered the black and you can see a very faint cross hatch pattern. The coat has a nice sheen to it. The overall fit is great. I appreciate the longer arms and the extended sleeve. The larger size is more slimming too. Love the Omni-Heat, but it won't be keeping me warm when the temperature drop below freezing unless I am engaged in moderate activity.

Slim fitting/flattering. I ordered a small and all is well. I typically wear a small in most coats (5'4", 125lbs. 34/b). Buy a size up if you want to wear extra layers underneath. I haven't put its warmth to the test as of yet. The blue vapor is a great color.

This coat is great for the northwest when its warm during the day (you can roll this coat up in your bag) and take it out in the early evening when temperatures start to drop. If it had a hood it would have been ideal! But overall a great coat. I am petite and the xs fits me well.

I really needed a new jacket and wanted something that wasn't as bulky as my old one. This Jacket fit that requirement well. I spend a few hours a day outside with preschool children and wanted something that would still be warm enough though. I have to admit, it isn't quite as warm as my old coat, but it seems to keep me from freezing to death. Love the cut and style of the coat.

I do like the lack of bulk in the product!! I would have liked it to run a little larger in fit---but it is just fine!!!

I started working for a company that assembles medical and chemistry supplies and needed a coat that kept me warm as I work in a colder, drafty industrial park (though my job is done all at my desk). My job is non-hazardous, nor do I work with chemicals...so I was shocked when my brand new Columbia jacket already had a tear in it after it's first wash (and yes, I did wash it per instructions on the jacket). I've been a long time Columbia fan and this is the first time I've ever had something like this happen. I live about 2 hours from Seattle - so other than the quality issue, it's true to size (Got a size medium, I'm 5'4, 165lb. female), and it's kept me warm during my rainy, outdoor walks in 35-60 degree weather. Very unimpressed with this quality issue though for the price you pay for Columbia products.

I purchased this coat to replace a well-loved down jacket that was losing feathers. The jacket is extremely light and comfortable over sweaters and fleece. It is fitted, which is flattering, but not so fitted as to restrict my movement. The sleeves have cuffs with holes for the thumbs which prevents cold air from moving up the sleeves. The jacket is not quite as warm as my down jacket, but what it lacks it more than makes up for with style and convenience! I mean, who wants to walk around looking like Donald Duck?

Bought this same coat two years ago in a Large and needed a Medium (I did not shrink any!). Love the coat for a regular winter day and on cold days just throw a fleece underneath and you are good to go. Zippers are good, pockets are good, CUFFS are GREAT (no air up those sleeves). It is a good looking coat on anybody. Accessorize with a scarf and you are good to go. Will buy another color next year!

So far I'm loving the jacket. It is very "lite" and thin but yet so toasty warm. I bought this for a mountain trip and I've found myself driving with the windows down because I got so warm in it. It can easily be packed in a bag because of how thin the material but don't be fooled by that. It has been great in the wind and a light rain. My only complaint is that I wish the arms were a little longer. I'm 5'8"- 125lbs and bought a small(a M would have been too big). I do like the thumb holes, which helps to pull the arms down a bit. Overall I would buy again and would recommend.

I was initially skeptical of the Omni-Heat technology but I was in need of a jacket inbetween a fleece and full-fledged 3 - in - 1 ski jacket. I was suprised at just how warm the jacket was for being so lightweight. The longer I wear the jacket the warmer it becomes. So far I've only worn it in a temperature range of 30-55 degrees. It does run slightly larger than other items I've ordered from Columbia but that allows me to layer if needed. My only complaints are that there's no draw string cord along the bottom of the jacket and I was expecting the collar to be a little stiffer to stand up more on its own when unzipped instead of just falling flat.

This coat was great, however, the color was more of a red/orange and I was looking for a true red.

I would totally recommend this product to others; in fact, after receiving my jacket two of my family members now want one. The fitting is true to size, and I love the thumb-whole/extra length in the arms/hand area. This extra length and thumb-whole prevents snow from getting inside the sleeves and gets your arms and hands nice and toasty (it's my favorite feature!) It's a pretty warm jacket, although so far this year I haven't gotten to test it out too much. The only complaint I have is that my hair gets static to it due to the type of material (not a lot but just a tad). Other than that, it's a great product with a sleek look that offers many compliments. Enjoy :)

Love the color, love the fit...nice wrist/hand cover. It hasn't been cold enough to test out the warmth yet. Overall its very light weight, I can move around easy in it and have gotten alot of compliments on it.

I ended up returning the medium for a small. I ordered a medium since both of my other Columbia coats are mediums. The small was a better fit definitely use the size chart. I would have given this five stars however the sleeves are really long on me. For reference I'm petite, 4'11. Color is beautiful. I ended up with the blue.

I read numerous reviews on this jacket before purchasing and I decided to go up a size. Even though I went up a size, the jacket is still too tight and it's thinner than I thought it would be. I thought I would be able to wear layers underneath this jacket, but unfortunately it's too fitted. I'm returning this and getting something else that is less fitted. Really disappointing considering the fact that I waited almost 2 weeks for this jacket to be shipped to me only to have it not fit.

I already own this jacket and it is a couple of years old. Thinking that I wanted to freshen up this jacket, I ordered the exact one (donate my old one). But, when I saw it, the first thing I noticed was how much thinner the puffiness was. It was very noticeable; it felt and looked wafer thin/flat. Disappointed. Why change something when its already perfect? Cost cutting the amount of fill just to maintain the price? I'd rather pay more and absorb the increased cost so long as I get the same jacket. I returned it and am keeping my old one (it really doesn't look so bad after all).

WARNING: this coat is not designed for curvy women. I read reviews saying it ran small, so I ordered up a size to an XL. The coat is uncomfortably tight across my hips and chest and it bunches up in between. Unfortunately, I will be returning it. It is a quality coat, but the fit issues make it unwearable.

I bought this jacket because I wanted a jacket that was light weight but still kept you warm and toasty. Needless to say this wasn't it. The jacket ran a little small. I wear a medium and bought a large. When I tried it on I had a long sleeved thermal shirt on and it was very tight on, no wiggle room. Went outside in 40 degree weather, no wind just cold and it didn't keep me warm even with a thermal shirt on. Would love to have kept it but sorry to say I had to return it.

Really liked the weight and style of the jacket but the sleeves were too long and it was form fitted in the hips, so I returned it.

In Fargo ND it gets pretty chilly so this jacket may not have been the best choice. Though it kept the bite of the cold out I wasn't completely warm. I still like the jacket and will wear it this fall but I will be purchasing a different WINTER jacket soon.

Fantastic jacket. Light and very warm. Only recommend that Columbia make all jackets available to use as a liner for their waterproof shells. This zipper is small & not compatible
