These are comfy, though a bit narrow; however, the bottom insert came out and that seemed to help. Runs true to size. If you have bigger calves, these are perfect.

Haven't worn them out yet, but a half size up was perfect for my wider foot. One thing to note: the jungle green was way more green than what showed up on my various computer/mobile screens. I'm keeping them anyway, but wish I had known.

I ordered this pair along with a pair of kamik and bogs. (however, kamik and bogs were tall boots). I am a solid side 9 and the Chookas were the only pair I felt gave me enough room. they other brands were snug, but I would imagine a 10 would be huge. I wish they made 1/2 sizes. The chookas are a much loose/wider fit than any other rain boot I've tried, but i like that I can step in and out easily, since I mainly use them to walk the dog in the morning when it's dewy and out and about on rainy days. They are probably too wide/loose fitting if you needed to wear them all day long on a regular basis--they don't offer much support. I am hoping the mid height and wide opening don't allow too much water in.

I like these boots a lot. As some other reviewers wrote, they are a little on the heavy side. I live in the desert and it doesn't rain, but when it does, these are just the ticket. I wear a 9 and ordered a 9. They fit fine. I can wear socks and small arch orthotics in them with no trouble. Easy to get on and off...I love the style and color.

I tried 7 pairs of boots to find what I needed in foot width, calf width, and comfort. These were perfect! I walked 2 full days around NYC in December perfectly dry and comfortable. These boots give my toes plenty of wiggle room and plenty of room for thick boot socks. I have wide calves and can't wear most boots coming up very high on the calf. Again these were perfect!

They fit comfortably around my wide calf and surprisingly make my legs look thin because there is still plenty of wiggle room. I just wish they were one inch taller, but still cute enough to wear out to dinner with skinny jeans and a nice top if the weather is bad.

I ordered these shorter boots because taller rainboots never seem to fit my calves. These were the perfect height and are very practical for rain or snow. I love the simple design and the buckle, and they were comfortable for me to wear all day. My only comment is that the boots aren't quite as shiny as pictured, and have a more rubbery look to them. The top opening is also very wide which may be a problem for when it's cold out, because my legs are a bit exposed, but I'm sure with some thick socks the problem could be fixed. But overall good boots, and very comfortable!

A bit too heavy for me. They also run big. I have a difficult time with selecting boots so I appreciate Zappos patience with me finding the right one for me.

Great for your feet, but be sure to wear tall socks! I ordered these boots because they accommodate a larger calf. I wore them to a festival with short ankle socks. I by the end of the day, my feet felt great, but I had cuts on the back of my legs.

These run big. I usually wear a 9½, I opted for the 9 - they were swimming on me. I went down to an 8. They were a little snug but not too bad. I am very happy with them and have received many compliments. They are very cute and perfect for just throwing on or wearing throughout the day.

I was looking for a new rain boot to replace my Hunter boots. I looked at a lot of choices, but kept coming back to this one. The reviews were correct in terms of sizing. I usually wear a size 6.5 or 7, but others said it ran large and since there were no half sizes I went with the 6. It fits perfect and so far is doing the job. I would highly recommend this rain boot to others.

These rain boots are great quality and are exactly as described. I normally wear a size 7½ and I ordered a size 7. They fit perfectly even with thick socks. The short rain boots work well if you have wider calfs. The only thing that I would change is the color. It is a little bit dull and I wish the black was a shiny black.

I like the look, fit and color of these boots, but be aware, they are rather heavy on your feet.

If you're a half size order down. I tried these on at a store before ordering online. I have hunters in an 8 and I got a size 7 in chookas. They run on the generous side, so order down (I tried them on with medium-thick socks...not boot socks). I'm regularly an 8 in most styles. They are cute + stylish and the perfect length. I chose these because I have muscular/thicker calves. Hopefully no rain gets in the gap at the top if it's pouring out -- the opening is quite wide. They were comfy when I tried them on at a local store...can't wait to receive them in the mail!

Just ordered these for rainy Seattle. So far I love them. Easy to slip off/on. Pretty comfortable too. The one boot had a Chooka label upside down though which was weird. I called Zappos and they gave me option to exchange or a small credit for the hassle. Love Zappos!

I was excited to find a pair of colorful rain boots that were mid-height, because my calves are too big to fit in knee-high boots. I wear an ~8 and ordered a size 9, which is what my last Chooka boots were. The 9s are big, but I think 8s would have been too tight. Also I needed the extra width, which the 9s in these boots delivered. So, I added some insoles, and now the boots fit well enough to walk in.

The boots arrived the next days and worked perfectly. There is no water leaking around the seams and the buckle allows me to wrap my pants around my ankle and tuck them in. One drawback is the top part of the sole is peeling away (I just ripped it off).

The boots arrived just as cute as they appear on-line. As stated in other reviews, the insole lining came off during my first outing. I will buy some inserts and should be just fine. We hiked about 4 miles that day and I had no discomfort (other than the lining) what so ever. I do recommend this rain boot. Camping again this weekend and will be wearing them, ahhh, springtime in Oregon.

Super cute. Had to return a different pair of boots because leg shaft too skinny. These have room for my calves. Insole peeled and pulled up immediately though.

I love this rain boot! The color is awesome and the quality is great! It did run big so I had to get the next size smaller but Zappos has great customer service! They sent me my boots in the smaller size before I even mailed back the other ones.

I was a little concerned when I first saw them, because they are mid/low calf and a little wide. I was worried about rain or puddles splashing into them, but in this rainy Wisconsin spring my feet have stayed dry. I really like the height, it's a nice change to all the knee-high rain boots you see. They work with pants tucked in, rolled up or with skirts/dresses. Since they are a little wide, I have found that they hit the back of my calf when I walk at times, which can be irritating. It's fine if I have on tights or high socks though.

The buckle is cute. Roomy but not overly so. Keeps my feet dry. My only complaint is the insole that isn't attached properly - always comes out. I'll replace it with something thicker.

Cute boots. I have the black with the brown leather straps at top - which makes them look a little more special. Unlike other reviews - I have skinny calves and I'm still fine with these boots. The straps at the top really are adjustable, not just for show. I have them on the tightest and they look great. They are roomier than other size 7 boots, but I use them in cold weather with super heavy socks, so they're perfect.

I love my boots! I have wide calves (19 inch at the widest), so finding rain boots is a difficult task. These are high enough that I'll have protection from the rain and puddles and the calf width is slightly adjustable so I can tuck my pants into the boots. I think I could've done better with an 8 1/2 size, but since they only come in full sizes, I went up a size, knowing that I'll most likely be wearing thick socks or boot liners with them.

I wanted some boots because our front yard doesn't drain well in the rain. After a few days of hard rain I gave in and searched for boots. While I found some that were cheaper I also needed them wide in the calf...these fit the bill. I have only gotten to use them once since I got them but they serve the purpose. They could be a little wider but will work for my needs. The only problem was that one of the metal eyes that are on the buckle came out! By some odd fate I found a little metal thing on the rug and finally figured out that was what it was! Think for the price they should hold up better than coming out the first time you try them on. All in all I am satisfied with them, just wish they had been a bit cheaper for something I won't be wearing a lot. I am able to wear my orthotics with them which is good as they don't support your foot...didn't really expect them to. Gave a 4 for overall since the metal eye popped out on first try...other than that I like them.
