These shoes are beautiful and cute and the unlined leather lining feels amazing on the toes - I wish that I could never wear any other shoes but these, but unfortunately, after a week of wearing them, my legs and hips are killing me. I walk about 8,000 steps a day on pavement and I have never had pain this bad from wearing expensive high-quality shoes. It literally feels like these are those cheap H&M ballet flats that fold up. Also: there is a muslin stabilizer underneath the cutouts at the top of the shoe, which came loose during a rainstorm and started to chafe my little toe raw until I cut it off with scissors. I truly wish that I could go back in time and not buy them.

The toe on this shoe was a little wider than I expected. It gave them an earthy hippie look. Nothing too garish but I wanted to wear them to the office and they looked a little more casual than I'd hoped. Also, on one of the shoes, the star pattern on the toe was way off center. I guess the pair I got was defective.

I purchased the Merrell Barefoot Life Zest Glove for a trip that will involve a lot of city walking. While the flats are very cute, they have no arch support and the toe box is a little awkward. They fit true to size, but the support left more to be desired (particularly from a Merrell). I will continue to purchase Merrell shoes, but I think they need to find a better balance between style and support. Unfortunately, I had to return this pair.

I'm pretty disappointed. After 2 weeks of pretty light wear, the lining is starting to separate from the rest of the shoe. They are also showing wear and dirt really badly on the outside. They are pretty comfortable except across the top of the foot, where they really dig in.

Discomfort in the toe box as others mentioned. The back of the shoe pushes foot forward and compresses the toes. The shoe was proper length for size ordered; however, not snug around mid foot.

Absolutely no support. You can feel every little pebble and makes a squishing sound. They could have at least had thicker bottoms. Way too expensive for very flimsy ballet shoes.

Very uncomfortable shoe. The elastic in the heel pushes your foot forward in the shoe. Looks odd and is uncomfortable. Love Merrell shoes, very disappointed.

I loved the cute simplicity that these provided as I can wear them with jeans or even to work. However I was extremely disappointed with several aspects of this shoe: 1) As other reviews mentioned (should have been my first red flag) there is a top stitch along the edge that makes the soft shoe somewhat rigid and tight against your foot. The elastic ends up pushing your foot forward, creating an uncomfortable walk. 2) There is also a larger gap in the back because of the elastic and the way the sole is shaped. This looks a little ugly. 3)There is an inner interlining in the shoe by the front, and after wearing these for only about 2 weeks, the interlining came loose and started to constrict my toes. This ultimately ended up ripping, which ironically relieved the problem.. otherwise I couldn't walk in them at all. I definitely don't recommend these if you walk a lot, such as in NYC. I'm extremely disappointed as the look is cute and there were so many good reviews, but now I'm left with shoes that look and feel like I've been wearing them for years. Quite possibly one of the worst pairs of shoes I have ever purchased. Very disappointed in Merrell and Zappos. Thinking of getting the Patagonia Maha Breathe to replace these.
