This shoes is almost 1.5 size larger than my normal shoe size, so buyer be aware. Also: You may want to consider gradually adapting to barefoot-style running before getting into this shoe.

The design along the side is printed or silkscreened into the mesh and does not read as distinctly as it appears in the product images. The toes are also very wide and the shoes seem to run large. I am returning my order.

Great shoes. Merrell hit the nail on the head with this one. It's basically a thin sole to protect your feet with a very light mesh upper. Unfortunately that's the downside, and why I only give it 2 stars overall, because the mesh upper while extremely flexible and airy also lacks in durability. My first pair of Vapor Gloves had a hole wear into the upper by both pinky toes within a month. I thought this might have been a fluke and maybe I got a bad pair. I contacted Zappos' awesome customer service and they replaced them for free. To my shagrin the second pair did the same thing. Hopefully Vapor Glove 2.0 will have a more durable upper. Otherwise these would be the perfect shoe.

This is my second pair of Merrell Barefoot shoes (the other being the Trail Glove), and I selected these primarily based on price. Great fit, but poor durability compared to the Trail Glove. The mesh is too lightweight, and the toe cap is not set back far enough. After using the shoes for a couple months, my big toe wore through the mesh. I have a wide, flat foot, and I try to stick with Merrell shoes because they fit me well. This is the only bad experience I've had with one of their products.
