These shorts have the potential to be great, but - they have the shortest, weirdest rise/crotch of any garment I've ever put on. I am typically proportioned, neither long nor short-waisted, but there is no way these shorts were patterned (or cut) for a typically proportioned (U.S.) woman. The pockets bug out with weird "ears" forming a couple inches down from the waist, and the slightest movement issues an unforgettable wedgie.

Very comfortable and breathable in any weather condition. I'm 5 ft, hips are ~35 inches, and the size S fits very well on my hips and thighs (which are a lil thicc). Highly recommend!

These are now my go to shorts...whether I'm camping, hiking, or just going to the grocery store. I spilled half of a bottle of water on my lap while wearing these shorts and they were completely dry in a matter of minutes. I did find that they ran just a tad big. I wear a size 12 and ordered a large.

I am 5'9" and weigh 140lb. Medium is a perfect fit.

I love these shorts in navy and khaki . I can wear any top . I just grab them and go and work in the heat in my barn and in my farm! Super cool to wear in the humidity ! Elastic makes them close easily . I'm short and curvy so the elastic makes it work. I don't wear the belt but wear a shirt tucked out .I'd say lose the belt ! Not necessary on larger sizes we aren't gonna tuck in our shirts!

I am really happy with these shorts! They are super soft and light (softer than Patagonia baggies imo) and seem like they will dry super fast. I like the longer inseam, I got them for an outdoor job that requires mid thigh shorts. Most people said they are true to size, but I am usually a small or medium and i had to return for an XS because the small was way too big.

These shorts rock! Can be used for just about any outdoor activity, and also suitable for casual wear. Side zip pocket keeps valuables (e.g. keys, $) safe when in water. Didn't realize belt was included so a nice bonus. They run a little big, though. I'm a 6-8, so I purchased a medium because I have found that Columbia tends to run a little small on me. They'll be fine as long as I don't wear them in the river or lake. Just purchased another pair in a small so I don't have to worry about them slipping down in the current.

Perfect! I ordered these for an upcoming trip to Costa Rica. They fit perfectly. I generally wear a size 10 and the medium fits absolutely perfect. They are a great length and are super lightweight. They have a nice zippered pocket so you can put a few items in to ensure that they do not get lost. I ended up getting them in black and green.

A little loose fitting, but they got the front pockets right this time. Much deeper than the last model. A keeper.

These shorts are awesome! I bought 2 pair! The fit is loose, very lightweight, the belt can be removed, plenty of pockets - just what I have been looking for. The small was a perfect fit! I usually wear a size 4 - and I wanted the shorts to be loose, so small was great. Columbia products are well made!

These are great shorts. Very light weight and quite comfortable and for those of us who prefer not to show plumber's butt when bending over, they are perfect-probably sitting 1/2 inch to 1 inch below my waist. Of course, I knew I would like them because they are Columbia and I have never been disappointed by any of their clothing. It always fits, is always excellent quality and priced very well. Even though these are cargo shorts, the dark color and style make them suitable for more than just outdoor activity wear. I would recommend these to anyone who is looking for a good quality, lightweight all around good short. (And they are not too short!)

I wear these to work in commercial greenhouse and they are comfortable and dry quickly. However, I need to carry my phone and it nearly falls out of the front pockets (iPhone 11) Other than that I would say they're true to size, I'm 5'3", 140lbs and a medium fits well.

I work in landscaping, and these shorts have been a lifesaver. It does not matter how muddy, dirty, grassy, etc I get.... within half an hour, the shorts look brand new. Everything just falls right off the shorts once dry (which is super quick) and they look clean day after day. They also dry super quickly (great after sitting in wet grass or working in the rain). I cannot recommend these highly enough.

These shorts are good quality. I wore them on a 9-mile hiking trip two days ago in the Florida state park and they were very comfortable. I particularly like the four pockets and the material. Recommended!

These are my Absolute go to shorts for hot weather. They are super comfortable and cool. I'm 5'4 at 135 lbs and small fits great.

Great shorts. I like them since this is the fourth pair I have bought. However, I wished they had a back pocket with a zipper for an iPhone. I believe the material is a bit thinner than my first pairs. I cannot tell the difference in my medium and large shorts. They seem very close in size. I bought the large size since sometimes they get washed in very warm water. Over the years, they do pucker slightly around the pockets, but can mostly be smoothed out if done before it dries. I usually air dry the shorts.

Light weight, dries quickly. I was looking for a replacement short that was columbia from years ago. These worked well. Good length - about half way between knee and hip - I'm 5'4".

Been looking for new shorts for a few years. Have had Columbia for over ten years. These fit the bill. Not too long, not too short. Very comfortable for all activities. So glad I found these

I purchased the Women's Sandy River Cargo Short and am very satisfied with it. The package arrived promptly and is just what I wanted. Very high quality fabric which was light and moisture wicking. All stitching is double reinforced and the pockets have mesh at the back which is a nice touch. Smaller pockets on either side are useful for holding keys or change. The waist is expandable and the snap is easy to open and close. This is my second pair and I am planning to buy more in different colors. The colors do not fade and the fabric remains water-resistant even after multiple washes. I would definitely recommend the Sandy River Cargo shorts for outdoor activities or just hanging around the house. They are extremely comfortable and are now my "go-to" shorts for all occasions!

I have these shorts in other colors, Large is perfect in the other colors. I once bought an XL and they were HUGE. So I ordered a Large and they are smaller than my other larges in the same shorts. They fit and I like the style so I'll keep them

Great shorts. The 6 inch length in perfect for my active work place. They are also a good length and they have a nice shape for my wider hips. The main downside is that the pockets are just a little two small for smart phones and other larger items.

Haven't had a chance to wear on a hike yet, but I like the fit and look forward to wearing on my trip to Spain next month. I am 5' 2" and weigh 155 lbs, normally buy size 12 and Large fits me just right.

Very comfy shorts. Typical Columbia quality. But you can't carry much cargo in the cargo pockets. Too small even for cell phone. That's pretty disappointing. Back pockets would be nice.
