I could not be more excited about my new PrAna Monarch convertible pants. I do biological sampling in beach environments and I need gear that is versatile, durable, and long enough for my 34" stems! I have literally been searching for decent, long women's field pants for the last seven years and have found nothing, until now. I have done some light field work in them and have found them to be a good light to mid weight fabric. The fabric is stretchy, which makes it easy to move in them, plus they fit great! I have ordered my normal size and they fit just right, snugly at first then loosening up just a little after a few minutes. Though I cannot speak for their long-term durability yet, they went through the dryer with no shrinkage, and all the zippers seem sturdy and smooth. On top of that, I actually look good while I am working. An added bonus! Kudos to PrAna for being (as far as I know) the first company to make quality women's active pants in a longer length! I will be ordering more, and I will tell all my tall friends!

These are flattering pants. I am usually a 27 in jeans and 32 inseam. I am 5'7" and 118 pounds and the size 4 fit. I originally ordered the 32 inseam and they were a tad too short, so went for the 34" and must get them hemmed, but better than too short! They are made from a light giving fabric.

I first ordered a 2, but had to return for a 4. I am 125#, 27" waist, 5'5". I've tried many convertible pants and these have lots of great features. The "Zion" stretch fabric is slightly on the thick side, but comfortable, stretchy, and has a smooth feel to it. The pockets are great and it fits my curvy frame. Love the tie waist, the zip-off is easy and the zip off part is wide enough in the leg that I can get them off without removing my boots, but not too wide either. I like the length of the shorts - a "knicker" that is somewhere between bermuda length and capri. If you want them shorter sometimes, roll them up. So, they have many options for wear. I like these enough to order more colors.

This is the perfect hiking pant for me. It's convertible, cute and incredibly comfortable. I ordered it in gray and if Zappos ends up carrying it in the army green color I will be ordering another pair! Love this pant!

I love these pants. They are very slimming and flattering (especially the back pockets). Comfortable too. I wear them anytime it rains, not just hiking. The sizing seems a bit odd though; different colors seem to fit differently. I have a medium build, slightly curvy shape (5'5" tall and weigh 128lbs). The gravel size 4 fits perfectly; the bone/beige size 6 fits perfectly; the black size 4 was unbearably tight, I could barely snap it closed, and the size 6 is a bit too relaxed. Hence, the 4-star overall rating; otherwise I would have given it 5 stars because I really wanted a black pair! It would also help if it had another pocket.

Very disappointed in the fit. I ordered the 14 and 16 and neither fit. I am a pear shape and a fairly consistent 14 in pants. Style of pant is really nice -- better than EMS and North Face. Hence my disappointment when they didn't fit.

I love these pants! I'm 5'4" and 112 lbs and got the size 0. My pant says regular inseam...no measurement so I measured them myself and it looks like 32 inches...a tad too long for my sandals. Got these for upcoming Europe trip so love the stylish fit and durability they offer. Ordered a pair in black now too!

Finally, a company who understands that some of us who hike are also tall! Love the long inseam and the pants look great. They perform well on the trail and are also great for wearing around town. Fabric dries quickly and doesn't wrinkle, making these perfect for travel!

These pants are incredible! I have been looking for a hiking pant that is both long enough (I'm a 35-36" inseam) and has the convertible option. Well, these pants fit the bill, 100%. If they offer it in a forest green or other fun color, I'll definitely be buying them. For now, the gray is perfect! Very thankful that Prana created a nice looking hiking pant for us taller women.

These pants fit great. I'm 5'6", 118lbs., hip 35", waist 27" and the size 2 fits well. It sits a little below the waist, but not quite hip huggers. There's a little room in the front but the drawstring inside the waistband pulls it together, so I don't have to wear a belt if I don't want to. Proportionally, I have long legs, so I got the 34" inseam. It's longer than I need, but I don't mind. I like a 33" inseam so I buy my pants long and have them tailored. The material is lightweight and very comfortable to move in. The color is very nice and the style of the pants make it easy to dress up or down. Since these pants are for traveling, I can put it on with t-shirt or tank in the daytime or a crisp white shirt to have dinner.

Great pants! I wore these during a 2 week trip in Australia and they were great. They're comfortable, don't wrinkle, versatile for most travel activities, and they don't take up much weight or space in your luggage. And what's more, they definitely flatter the booty! Very big bonus for this skinny white girl. I took off a star for comfort because they're the slightest bit scratchy, but it's not bad. They're just not pajama-soft. They were so long I had to have them hemmed, which at 5'10" I have never had to do. Nice to face that issue instead of having to return them because they're too short (read: every pair of pants ever!). Great in the city or on the trail, and easy to adjust to the various temperatures throughout a long day.

I bought these in black in REI when looking for work pants, and wanted to get some for hiking/traveling as I absolutely love the feel, style and how they look on my body. I wish they made the non-convertible too! The olive green is exactly what I was looking for to go out in nature. I ordered the same size as my black (size 2, 32 inseam) as i suspect they may stretch out a little during work/exercise. They are certainly snug (I normally wear a size 4) but they fit very nicely. If they were jeans, I would certainly want a 34 inseam, to get that over the boot heel look - but as hiking pants I did not particularly want them dragging in the dirt/rain, and the 32 inseam certainly is still low enough over the back of my hiking shoe heel to not look short. Compared to the picture above I would say they fit a little shorter. I a regularly a size 4 at 5'7" and weight about 130 pounds. I just measured my inseam - top of thigh to bare foot on floor and it is 31".

These pants were a perfect addition to a hiking trip. Very comfortable and lightweight but tough enough to protect from light brush. The little bit of stretch make them great for a light climb.

I love these pants - I can't say enough good things about them! I actually immediately bought two more pairs in other colors. They are comfy, stretchy, look good on (my hubby complimented how they made my butt look), and look a lot dressier than most "convertible" pants. They are also just long enough for me (which is sometimes a problem - I am 5'10"). Love them.

Very flattering pants, not only for hiking, but also running errands, go around the city etc. The first pair I got was navy green, and to be honest personally I'm not that crazy about the color, but they fit so great that I decided to keep them regardless. I just got lucky to get them in black, and I'm in love!! Definitely ordering more (in black) as soon as they're available again. I'm 5'7", very athletic 150 lbs, and size 6 fits me great.

I purchased these convertible pants for a camping/hiking trip with my daughter. I am 5'9". I could not decide on a length so I bought the 32" inseam and the 34" inseam. I kept both because I like the way the 34" inseam looks, but I was afraid they might stretch and slide down my hips making them seem longer and causing them to drag on the ground; especially if it was rainy or very humid. I packed both inseams for the trip and ended up wearing the 32" inseam for a 9 mile hike in the rain. They do stretch. I had to adjust the inner drawstring several times to keep them from sliding down during the hike. They looked significantly longer by the end of the day. I purchased a size 2 (my measurements are 24.5" waist/34.5" hips). These don't really sit on your waist. They fit somewhere between your waist and hips. They are super comfortable and never felt wet during the hike. Lots of pockets for stashing things. I like the zipper pocket on the leg. I could fit the trail map in there and did not have to worry about it falling out of my pocket...I tend to lose things. They wash and dry great. No shrinkage.

I wore these pants three days straight while on a trek in Peru. I did not want to take them off because they were so comfortable! The pants easily converted to capris, repelled water, and just held up to rough wear. I absolutely love them!

These are great pants. The zip off works easily. The shorts are a longer length. The drawstring keeps the waist tight but does not show. Bought them for hiking, yet stylish enough to wear anytime.

I love these pants! They are so much cuter than other hiking/traveling pants I've seen mostly due to the style of the back pockets (which eliminates the chance of the dreaded "long butt" you can get with plain back pants). I also really like that in addition to the button fly there is also a drawstring to tighten the waist. The amount of stretch is great too. The waist isn't as low on me as it looks in the picture (I'm 5'4"). I got the shorter length and they are perfect. I'm about to order another pair!

I'd been looking for cargo pants that offered long inseams (I'm 5'10"), so I was glad to find this Prana style on Zappos! I wanted a modern fit that wasn't frumpy or soccer-mom-ish. The fit is true to size, and the fabric is like butter. These pants are fitted through the butt and hops and roomy / baggier through the legs, and my boyfriend likes how my butt looks :) They don't stretch out after hours of wear, and are wrinkle-resistant. I'd definitely recommend these pants, especially for tall ladies! :)

Bought these for a trip to Belize and they did the job fine. Wore them hiking and it was a bit cooler weather so they were comfy, but in hot weather they may get uncomfortable. Thicker material and the fit is pretty good. I could use a little snugger fit, but overall they were fine. The zipper is at such an awkward spot though, that I doubt I'd ever unzip these. The length of the 'shorts' (or whatever they're supposed to be) is just plain dorky. I bought the shorter inseam (I'm 5'2" 104 lbs) and they were pretty much the right length with sneakers...maybe a little long for flip flops. Overall these were fine, but they're awfully pricey considering I won't even be using the convertible feature.

These pants are great. The fit well and look nice. I bought them for travel and they convert easily. They don't have the greatest pockets though.. So not great for passports/ money etc. Only one small zippered pocket.

I ordered the size 4 and 6 pants because I read several reviews that the sizes were inconsistent. I am 5'6", 140lbs, ~38" hip. I could have gone with either the size 4 (32" inseam) or the size 6 (32" inseam) pants, but I ended up picking the size 4 because I prefer a slightly tighter fit and figured the pants would stretch out. I took these pants on a two week hiking trip and they were great! Super comfortable while hiking. I was slightly concerned that the zipper fell right in the middle of my knee, but I never noticed it while I was on the trail. At first, the pants were a little uncomfortable to sit in because they bunched strangely, but after an hour or so of wearing them, I didn't notice this anymore. All in all, I really liked these pants, but I definitely prefer the Prana Halle style.
