I read the reviews that this jacket was thinner than it appears online, but I decided to go ahead and order anyway to try it out myself. The reviews were accurate- it is just a shell, no extra lining to help keep you warm at all. A trench coat tends to be on the thicker side, so the name of the jacket is not fitting in my opinion. I sent it back immediately.

I agree with the other reviewers. This jacket is very cute and flattering, but not all that waterproof. I wore it for the first time in a medium rain and within 5 minutes my arms were damp. I'm really sad because it is such a cute jacket, but if you want it to actually keep you dry, I'd go with something else. I will be returning mine.

The fit of this jacket is mostly for younger figures. My age group (over 65) needs more room in the arms and around the midsection. I found the large too small and the extra large was too fitted and the sleeves were too long. I loved the material and the color, but the fit was not comfortable for me.

I didn't heed the warning of the other reviewers and bought this in my usual size. Seems it was much too small. I bought in an XS (5'2", 115lbs) and found that the sleeves barely hit my wrists. For jackets, like most people, I want sleeves that hit on my hand to make sure there is no gap if I'm wearing gloves. It was also uncomfortable with a medium-bulk sweater underneath. I unfortunately had to return this.

This coat has a few things going for it. It's definitely a cute cut, I love the purple color, and the fit was great (I'm 5' 2" and 110 lbs, the XS fit perfectly). I read the reviews before buying, so I knew the jacket would be thin. I bought a cheap purple fleece to go with it, but I didn't consider the pockets - they provide zero protection from the cold or the wind. It is, however, properly waterproof, which is kind of the point of a rain jacket. My bigger issue is the hood - it's so light that I can't get it to stay on my head. No matter how much I pull those drawstrings, the slightest gust of wind knocks it back. Plus it's so cold I end up wearing a hat anyway. Thinking of returning it, but for the price it's probably a good thing to keep around for spring.

The fit is great but that's about it. I was really disappointed that the jacket has no lining. It seems to be common-sense that jackets of this sort have one. This jacket is going back. Instead, I have purchased another Columbia jacket. This one is the Arcadia. It's a perfect fit and has a lining, too.

I usually wear 14/16 or large. I ordered XL, which is listed as 16/18. It fit snug with just a light, thin top. Could never wear it with a sweater. Had to return it, and it didn't come in a larger size.

The cut and style of this jacket was good. I particularly liked the way the back is vented so you don't get that clammy feeling in damp weather. I'm not crazy about the belt - it just seemed extraneous. The Burnt Henna color is too bright for my taste. But the fabric is what I disliked the most. It feels more like plastic than a fiber.

I really wanted to love this jacket. The purple is a great color, and living in the Seattle area I often need a light weight rain slicker in the fall and spring. This seemed like a great work appropriate option. I sized up to a Large after reading reviews saying this jacket runs small but it was still too snug to be flattering or useful. I wouldn't be able to wear a sweater underneath. It pinched my arms/shoulders and was tight across my hips. I'm on the shorter and curvy/athletic build side (5' 5" and a swimmer - my shoulders are no joke). This might've worked well for someone who has a slim/straight build.

Lining only in hood area, inside pockets are useless their is a big gap that should have been closed when product was made. A wonderful fit. Too expensive for all of the defaults with this item.

I sized up one size and it fit well. However the zipper was defective and this item had deep wrinkles all over.

This jacket runs a bit smaller than regular sizes so order up a size. The cut is very nice and similar to another high end brand. Bundles up very small so its a great space saver in your luggage and its extremely light weight. I haven't worn it in the rain yet, so I can't attest to its actual water proofing ability, but all in all the jacket is very stylish and the color choices go with anything.

I was attracted to the figure-flattering, feminine style of this belted rain jacket. I ordered this in a small and found the fit to be really nonstandard. I am average height: 5'6", and weigh 114lbs. *Most clothing tends to fit me either large in the chest or short in the sleeves because I have a straight body type.* This jacket, in a size small, was actually long enough in the sleeves, but tight in the shoulders and bust, and narrow in the hips. The waist belt landed on my rib-cage, not my waist! It did not give an hourglass silhouette as in the picture! I sent it back and ordered a medium. It is actually for my daughter who will be traveling to the UK soon. She is 5'4", 120lbs and bustier than me. I hope it fits!

Fabric was stiff and quite thin. I didn't think the wrinkles/folds would fall out. And I don't iron coats. I don't think it would have a smooth, clean look and hang nicely . It made me think of a rain coat you roll up and stuff in it's small bag for ' just-in-case' use. It does look like it is constructed well-seams, pockets, zippers, shape. I love Columbia clothing. To me this is not what I expect from Columbia.

If you are outside in rain, light drizzle, or mist for more than a few minutes this jacket soaks through. I do not recommend this jacket you looking for a waterproof or water-resistant jacket. Otherwise it is a very cute and stylish coat. I was very disappointed with this product.

Soaked from shoulder to shoulder first time I wore this jacket. It was worn in a light drizzle as I walked from store to store at an outdoor mall. I returned jacket to Columbia, who sent it back to me along with a letter. "This product was never advertised as being water proof". Skip omni shield products. Omni tech products are actually waterproof so buyer beware. Good news, after repeat contact with customer service and warranty, Columbia did satisfactorily fix the situation.

This was a first purchase for me from Columbia. I've heard great things about their rain jackets, I wore this jacket twice and it is NOT water resistant! It had barely rained and I was soaked. Maybe I got a defective jacket? I don't know, but I probably won't be purchasing another rain jacket from Columbia.

I have had this jacket for less than a year and used it lightly. In the last couple days I realized my clothes were getting wet under it. I had planned on having this rain coat for a long time and now I already have to buy a new one. It is a shame because it's a very cute jacket with a flattering fit, but that doesn't matter when it does not function the way it was supposed to. Very disappointed with this purchase.

This was a very nice raincoat, BUT it runs very, very small. Couldn't wear it and had removed the tags so I couldn't return it. Gave it to a much smaller person and it barely fit.
