This is my 2nd Maia review. I'm giving 1 star "overall" to counterbalance my previous 5 star review. Mine is the one that starts, "Love. Super comfy and secure-feeling. A little bit tricky to size though..." This shoe smells. After a week of wear -- light commuting, sitting still at work all day -- these shoes smelled so strongly I was embarrassed to wear them indoors. I could smell them when I flexed my foot, so air hit the sole. I continued to wear them on errands for a few months, but it's not worth it. I hate tossing out shoes, but I'm going to have to do it. Bummer.

I loved these shoes, they do seem to run a little big and I had to return them for a size smaller than I usually wear but they are quite possibly the most comfortable sandal I've ever worn. However, I've worn them for just three days (in an indoor, air-conditioned conference center) and they smell terrible. I don't usually have smelly feet but something about the suede insole must cause a reaction or something. I'm really sad, because they're beautiful and incredibly comfy but today I was embarrassed to find a sourness wafting from my feet - yuck! Zappos legendary customer service has been most helpful but regretfully I'd not recommend these

Fantastic combination of comfort and style! The Ahnu Maia hugs your foot with super-soft leather straps and a cushy footbed that seem to mold around and provide a custom fit. I usually wear a 9.5 or 10, so based on previous reviews I ordered the 9.5. I can understand how this shoe might not fit everyone - and since the straps are not adjustable, it will be highly dependent on the shape of your foot. I found them to be a little long in the toe area, even though I have fairly long toes - but the arch and metatarsal support hit me in just the right places so I was very happy with the fit. The straps felt a little snug at first, but as soon as my feet got settled in and I took a few steps, it was like walking barefoot - only better! I got the dark charcoal color and I think it will go with pretty much everything. The sole is shocking pink, just for fun. The leather uppers are extremely soft, as are the microsuede fabric linings. This is a great transitional sandal for spring and fall, as it's not quite so "bare" as some, while still showing off a beautiful pedi and allowing my feet to breathe. This is my first pair of Ahnu shoes, and I will definitely look at more.

Really like the look of this sandal. The only fault I found is that the straps are not real leather, therefore no stretching, which I would have liked for the sake of comfort and making them feel more like "my own." They start out comfortable but by day's end the straps become tight-feeling, with no give. For the price I would have liked an all-leather sandal.

Thinking on it, there is no reason these shoes should work as well as they do! None but the the top straps are elasticized and I would have worried about the heel being uncomfortable or cutting in. The straps at the toes are actually too loose and the strap over the instep is a little tight, but despite all that, in fact these sandals are awesome. They're cute with everything and I can wear them on long days out without fearing blisters. I'm considering buying another pair. I am between 7.5 and 8 for sandals. I was happy with the length of the footbed in the smaller size.

Love. Super comfy and secure-feeling. A little bit tricky to size though. I initially ordered these in 6.5/Chocolate Chip. "Chocolate Chip" is misleading; they were really rather olivey. They also felt a little snug, but I like my feet to feel hugged, so I thought I'd try them again in another color. I meant to order the same size in Pansy, but I ordered size 7 by mistake. A moment of serendipity. Re: length, 6.5 and 7 both look fine. Re: width -- more complicated. On the 7s, the toe straps are a little loose and the upper straps feel "fitted". The heel is a little loose side-to-side, but good in terms of length. Recall that I like the hug feeling: my first reaction was that the 7s were too loose all over, but I'm keeping them. Here's why: my feet swell walking around all day, so that slight extra room comes in handy. It's not visible at all. Plus, the Pansy color is adorable -- a little bluer than shown on my screen, like a purplish wine. Bottom line: if you consider your feet wide or fleshy, I'd recommend the upper end of your size range. If your feet are narrow or skinny, go with your smaller size. My feet: 37 Euro - 7 US, narrow heel, wide toe - "compressible feet" in dance terms - no need for arch support.

This is my second pair of Ahnu shoes...both purchased for a future trip to Italy. They both feel amazing right out of the box -- these people are doing something right! My feet run medium width, leaning towards narrow, and if anything, their shoes are a 'tad' too wide for me -- but not enough to whine about.

Love these, I'm no spring chicken so comfort is my main objective. Fits in perfect with the style of today's sandal with comfort. I like these so much I can't decide which color I should get next. I got them in the black and I'm very pleased with the color, style and the comfort.

Shoes fit great and are comfortable. I have worn them for about a week now on vacation and didn't do a ton of walking. My only complaint is the light blue foot bed. Besides being a distracting color, it attracts and shows dirt really badly and now looks dirty and pretty disgusting. A brown or tan color would be more attractive and practical.

Love these sandals. Quite comfortable out of the box, and cute – although there were two issues: the back sole park rubs a little on the ankle. I had to wear band-aids the first few days, but I think it'll be fine as the leather is very soft. Other problem is the length: while everyone said these run a half-size too large, I bought a half-size down and they're definitely a little small. So do yourself a favor and order your "real" size first. I'll definitely get more Ahnus in the future, though.

I really like the comfort of these shoes. Walked all over in them on vacation without blisters and the arch was great. The footbed traps odor though and I may have to quit wearing them. I have other shoes I have been wearing all summer without any odor issues. Wish they made the footbed odor resistant as I really want to keep wearing these.

After reading the previous reviews, I ordered a half size down and the length of the shoe was perfect. However, these are very wide. My foot was not secured by the bands and had a lot of movement when walking. I normally have good luck with a M width shoe but these felt and looked like a W width. If the entire footbed were cut more narrow they would be a cute girly sandal, but they are very bulky and not so flattering on a long narrow foot. They are going back.

I really wanted to love these. They felt comfortable when I tried them on, but the lump where the straps are attached rubbed and I think they'll cause blisters. I ordered a half size down and they fit ok, but the straps were way too loose.

I love the look of these shoes, and they're comfy for the first 15 minutes and then I get cramps in my arches from them - too much arch support and I don't have flat feet. I could ignore that and wear them anyway but holy moly the SMELL! And there's nothing that's helped to make them not stink.

These are very comfy, light, look great with shorts & skirts, much better casual feel than flipflops. However, they stained my feet - blue stripes that were hard to scrub off.

I tried 2 styles of Ahnu shoes and both were unbelievably wide. The length was true to size, but the width was ridiculous. I do not have narrow feet; I reliably wear "B - Medium" in all brands of shoes. There were visible gaps on the sides of my feet in both styles of Ahnu shoes I bought. Such a bummer because these were really cute. So if you have wide feet, definitely get these.

Wanted to like these! However, the toe straps were too wide. My feet slid through the foot bed.

These shoes are really comfortable and cute but beware. The soles of mine wore out after about 8 weeks. Not just a little wear and tear but so bad that the toes and heels got crumbly and the mid foot area lost all traction.

I really like this sandal. I have problems with the height of the heel on the back of my ankle. I wish it was a little lower. It is a very nice sandal otherwise, I wish I didn't have return it.

Nice shoe, but runs large. I generally wear between a 7 and 7 1/2. I ordered the 7 and it is too big so had to send back.

Loved this sandal right out of the box. Definitely order a full size smaller than you normally wear. I have a narrower foot but this sandal fits perfect!

What a great summer sandal! The straps keep it securely on the foot, and are instantly comfortable. No binding, no blisters. Great arch support and lovely insole. I love the eggplant color. If it came with a heel, it would be perfect. The flat is rather casual, but I will be wearing these a lot this fall during the day.

Love these! Very comfy and fun. Black, strappy sandals go with everything. I usually wear a medium width size 7.5. That is what I ordered and at first I thought they were just a tad too long in the toe. After walking around the house I realized they were just perfect. My first night wearing them I was out on the town walking a lot. These shoes were perfect. No rub spots and no foot bed stink. I'll be wearing them again very soon.

Looking for a sandal with support & comfort for walking around town and travels. These hit the mark perfect and look better than all the other walking sandals out there! Wore them for 6 hours straight out of the box. Extremely comfortable.

I have 3 pair, love them. I have a wide foot and am the perfect 10.5 so am thrilled these come in my size! Best foot bed of all my shoes, super good design the straps hit the right places for comfort - no cutting into my foot. The heel cover is a bonus. Highly recommend.
