Pregnant? Thick calves BEFORE pregnancy like me? I love that these fit. I've had these now for about 4 months and beat the heck out of all my shoes, but these still look brand new. Before pregnancy, my calves were 16 1/2 inches. Walking around downtown Chicago in fall through early winter here I am thankful for a boot that's easy to slip on and fits my calves when wearing work pants or maternity jeans. I wear them with thick Hunter brand wellies socks and they still fit comfortably. I am a normal size 9, I might have been a little overzealous on how large my feet and legs would get, and I ordered a 11. a little loose around the ankle, but fit fine walking to my office when my feet and ankles start to swell. I purchased three other (size 11s) at the same time to see which I liked most...these won. Other contenders I thought were thick calved or liked... Hunters, lol. Nope...only if barefoot, even then they are not that comfortable. Bogs...looked cool, thought the hole on sides would allow me to pull them up during pregnancy, they hurt in the arches when I walked in them and would not allow enough room for socks or pants to tuck into easily Kamicks. Still too tight around ankles Pros of Chookas: Fits large calves WITH thick socks and pants tucked inside -Easy to slip on -More support or cushion the other I tried. Moderately warm...no need for my winter boots yet here in December Cons: Ankles scruch a little (not felt, just shows if I dont wear thick socks).

I bought these boots for my daughter for her job as a camp counselor. Not only are they cute, but she said they are a lifesaver! they are 100% waterproof and comfortable. The adjustable strap is great if your calves are not bony, plus they are easy to slip on and off. Also, she was looking for navy blue, so yeah, kind of perfect! She debated to order 8 1/2 but opted size 8. Don't order up a size! The size is perfect even with socks.

Love these! Nice and wide around the calf so athletic legs can fit in them. Would wear these working outside or to work. Love everything about these boots

They are nice boots but they do run large. If you usually wear size 8, order size 7. I have to wear 2 pairs of socks to keep them flapping around on my feet. And they are a little heavy. Otherwise very happy with purchase.

Ladies, these rain boots will fit around larger calves! I have tried 4 or 5 different rain boots over the past month (thank you, Zappos!) and NONE of them would fit around my 16 inch calves, except for these! I was going to try the Hunter Short next but wasn't sure about spending so much money on a rain boot. I think the quality looks good, although the true test will be out in some rain/slushy weather. As for sizing, I wear a 10 in most shoes (10 1/2 in athletic shoes), and I ordered a 9. The length is perfect for my foot, although it is a little narrow. I seem to have developed wider feet over the years after having 4 kids. However, I think a 10 would be too large. Another plus, no bad odor permeating from the boots. A pair I tried from another store (much cheaper boot, price and quality) smelled so strong I couldn't even stand it. So far I am pleased with this boot. One note, yes, they are a little bunch around the ankle but I find most boots are so it's not a deal breaker for me.

I was so excited to get these boots, but unfortunately, they didn't work for me. I will never be able to wear cute boots. My calves are just too meaty for these "wide shaft" boots. Ironically, I felt like these boots were flappy around the ankles. I am usually an 8.5 and got the 9, they were roomy, and if my calves had fit in them, I would have kept them. I did think the buckles were kind of cheap, but as ornamentation, they are cute. If you are lucky enough to have super skinny calves, then these boots will probably be a good fit for you, and keep you looking cute and your feet dry. For us with muscular legs, it's short boots and wet feet.

I ordered the navy and black in this boot to see which I liked better. I thought I would want the black but I ended up going with navy. I've had them for about a week, but I've worn them about three or four times because it's so slushy outside. I've stepped in huge puddles and so far so good. They do show dirt of course and I haven't tried cleaning them yet because they aren't too bad. They hit just below your knee. I am a soccer player so I was worried about them not fitting my calf, but THEY DO! Don't worry you large calf people! I got these boots for college next year and so far they have pleased me.

They are awesome, but I am usually an 8,5 and ordered a 9 (thinking of the thick socks), but they are way too big.

Just received these 5 minutes ago and I love them! The color is actually a little richer than the picture shows - it's a nice berry color. I'm normally a 7.5 but ordered a size 8 and they are a little loose, but it's good if you plan on wearing thicker socks with them. The tan straps add a nice touch! They're pretty cute for rain boots!

I was not disappointed when my boots arrived! They're exactly as advertised and fit perfectly. I've worn them in the snow (with extra socks) so they're not just rain boots!

A Christmas gift for my daughter-in-law. Early 30's & stylish dresser. Liked these boots because of the top strap, which not only looks nice, but can be adjusted for width of calf. Color was exactly as described & best of all she loved them. I definitely recommend

These are the perfect rain boots. They fit me great. They are very nice, from a distance, you might not even notice that they are rain boots, so I can wear them to work and still look professional.

Love these! I usually wear size 9.5, but in reality my right foot is 9.5 and my left is 10. Based on the reviews that said these boots ran big, I ordered down to size 9. They do fit, but the toes on my left foot are a little squished. I probably should have gotten a 10, but I can still wear them for a 3 mile round-trip walk to work without too much trouble. My calf circumference is 14.75" and I was able to wear them over skinny jeans and still have a comfortable gap. The buckles didn't do much. There's zero arch support and cushioning, but it's a rain boot. That's to be expected. The Merlot is a very pretty color. Bright enough to make me feel like a kid splashing around in puddles, while still being grown-up and feminine. In summary: put some cushioned insoles in these boots and they're pretty much perfect.

These boots are so comfy. I have very wide feet and 16" calves. They fit like a glove. May sound funny but these are a fashion statement. Very cute with casual dresses and functional too.

Love these boots! I just got them so can't speak to how well they will hold up but they seem to be much better quality than my old Target boots and those lasted about 5 years. They are so cute in the pink and I love the buckles! I am usually an 8.5 but got the 8 since they didn't do half sizes and they feel comfortable with a medium weight sock on.

Very cute boots... and so much less expensive than Hunters! I was worried I wouldn't like the straps, but they actually add a lot of character to the boot. I get a lot of compliments on these!

I love these boots so much I ended up getting a second pair; black and blue. They're flexible natural rubber, have a wide enough opening for my large calves and are really waterproof. The only complaint I have is the liners do not stay in. Could be good for cleaning purposes, but every time I pull my foot out they come too and I have to stick my hand down and replace it before my next wear. Other than that, these boots are AMAZING! My favs for sure.

Love them! I actually have not had a chance to wear them outside in the rain yet, so my review is based more on fashion than functionality, but Chooka boots have a great reputation, so no worries there. I normally wear a 9 1/2, but I ordered a 9. These definitely run a bit large - I had forgotten what size I ordered, and when I tried them on, I just assumed they were a 10 because they were a little roomy. It's just enough room though that I can still wear them with or without thick socks and still be able to move fine in them. They look like very high-quality boots, and they are pretty light but still definitely feel durable. I also love the Merlot color - it's pretty and stands out, but is dark enough that it still looks sophisticated.

I am very happy with this boot. Super comfy vs other "wellies" and there is tons of space in the calf area...maybe a little too much but you can always just adjust the buckles, which is what I did. Color is very nice too. They are definitely keepers.

I ordered these boots at midnight on a Tuesday in hope that they would arrived for a camping trip that weekend. I couldn't believe it when they showed up a day and a half later! Zappos really delivered excellent customer service. You don't get care like that from many online store fronts. Thank you Zappos. I'll be back for more! Oh...the boots were great too. Good quality for a great price.

Light and comfortable. A little noisy at the top when walking because I have small calves but I think it's because the material is nice and flexible which helps with the comfort. Very cute!

I live in Florida, so a good pair of rain boots are absolutely necessary. I saw these online and loved them! I love them even more in person! They are so cute. They run somewhere between true to size and a little large (I usually wear an 8 and the 8 fits a little loosely but perfect for thick socks). They keep the cold and wet out, just like a perfect pair of rainboots should! The only downside is that for the first few weeks they smell strongly of rubber, but this fades over time. It didn't bother me much.

I am upset at the quality. Very surprised. I love UGGS. They stained, even after being treated and the toe lining area is already getting worn. I am surprised at the quality and my daughter is very disappointed. She saved her own money for these.

I love the look of these. I was wanting plain black rain boots, but I like the little buckle detailing. I also didn't think it was necessary to spend so much money on rain boots that I intend to wear in the mud as I would have had I bought the popular Hunter rain boots. The only thing is the boots are a little loud as they hit your calf when you walk if you aren't wearing thick enough socks. Happy with my purchase.
