I just bought these at a store yesterday and I love them! Stylish, feels solid, and comfortable! No complaints. They do run larger than usual size. I am 10, but I got a 9.5.

Great shoes. Rugged and a bit dressy. Great shoes for one of those sloppy days in the city when you don't really want to wear boots and dress shoes are definitely out. Typical Timberland quality. The fit was great and they were comfortable from the time I put them on, no need to "break them in" This is a somewhat prejudiced review because I have been a Timberland fan for many years.

First off, I would like to address the reviewer that had a problem with these being a 'lite' version of Tims chukkas. They are not. They are a completely different style of chukka than the Timberland premium. They are not sacrificing the craft of the boot to make the price better, and in fact I find these to be a very stylish casual boot while the premiums are much more of a working boot. If you want a work boot, get the premiums. If you want a stylish city boot, get the lite. Having said that, these boots are phenomenal. There is very little break in time and they are very comfortable. I usually wear chelsea's, but I decided to give chukkas a shot since they seem so popular and I couldn't be happier. My only complaint is how large these boots run. I normally wear a 10-10.5 shoe and 9.5 boot. I ordered both a 9.5 and a 9 in anticipation of them running large and both were much too big. I returned them and got an 8.5 with no problems and they fit perfectly.

I purchased the Timberland Earthkeepers City Lite Chukka, in black, size 10, for my 43 year old fiance. He loves these shoes! It only took him two days of wearing them around the house, a bit, to break them in, before he started to wear them everywhere, with absolutely no problems. He finds them to be both stylish and very comfortable! He wears a size 10 in most brands, so I ordered these in a size 10, and he says that they fit him perfectly (true to size). My fianc 's usual attire is a long sleeve flannel, unbuttoned, worn over a t-shirt, with a pair of jeans. These chukka's look really great with his casual attire. Personally, I believe these shoes would also look fantastic worn with a suit. Might give the suit a bit more of an "edgy" look. Oftentimes, stylish appearing shoes aren't comfortable (you have to give up comfort for style), so I'm very pleased that my fiance finds these shoes to be so comfortable! And as usual, Zappos is awesome! I ordered these shoes around 5pm and they arrived the next day (free shipping).

Lightly constructed but seem durable so far. Quite comfortable and because of the lighter weight leather, are lighter on the feet and breathe a bit better than other chukkas I've owned. Would buy them again without reservation.

I read reviews from other sites indicating that these boots are a good whole size larger than average - I would agree totally with that. 90 percent of the time I fit into a 9M, and the 8M in these boots fit well, with the appropriate wiggle room. I have a pair of Timb shoes from about six years ago that are also a little over a half size too big. However they are great boots, well made for Zappos' price, and will serve me well this winter.

Great shoes. Love 'em. Comfortable, stylish, fit great. But why in the world would you put such wimpy shoelaces on them? A little over a month later and they already broke. I paid a lot for these shoes and you put 5 cent laces on them? For shame!

I read the reviews and took a full size smaller (14, not 15). That was a good idea. I have got a pair of black - they mark black at the ankles. Do not wear with white socks.

Good looking shoes. The soles, which are rubber, are very comfortable. But not so comfortable around the ankles. Maybe still needs to be broken in more.

A cool matte finish and very comfortable. They are great for this time of year; especially if you live in a climate like the northeast. They are also good looking and I've received compliments for the younger crowd. My pair ran about a half of size too big.

Nice shoes. A little narrow in my opinion. It took four or five days of constant wearing to break them in. Women love them, though.

Great all purpose shoe. A bit heavier than I expected. Seems durable but the tongue of the shoe is so stiff! Very uncomfortable to me...front of upper ankle was sore by end of the day.

Okay, well, let me explain. I have looked for the perfect chukka for the past few years. I've been wearing "Columbia Mckenzie River Chukka" since 2010 and they stopped making them shortly after I purchased it. I wear a size 14 so it makes it even harder to find a nice lightweight comfortable yet elegant chukka. So after I wore out the Mckenzie I was forced to keep on wearing it because I couldn't find the perfect boot to replace it. I really wore those guys out, I had to super glue the soles back on, replace the laces, and wipe it clean just to make it somewhat passable. After numerous failed attempts at replacements I found these shoes. It didn't go to size fourteen but I was one of the few people to happily read that it runs big. So I bought the size 13 and they came the next day. Perfect. Length wise they fit very nicely. Width wise it's a little tight and I'm hoping the width expands. The style is very unobtrusive. The leather has a dull flat appearance, just the way I like an everyday shoe. If the shoes stretch out for me I'll be sure to purchase a few more pairs just so I don't get screwed again in a few years. Fool me once.

Very happy with this purchase. While shopping for boots I was looking at my order history, and my previous pair of work (office) boots were Timberlands, and I ordered them seven years ago! I figured Timberland was the way to go again.
Comfortable! I have a standing desk at work due to back issues so I am on my feet all day. The soles are soft which adds to the comfort, but time will tell if they have the same durability as my last pair. They look nice enough for office work or dressing up.
So the high points: comfort and a passable dress shoe.
Low points: as is common with shoes sized 13 or more, the arch is a little too far aft. But that is not a deal breaker, and you can always get a better insole.

Caveat: spoiled by Frye. I hate to be the fly in the ointment, but I'm not terribly impressed. They're fine shoes, and they look really cool, but other than that they're pretty average. The leather upper (particularly around the ankle) is very stiff and I think they'll take a while to break in enough to be comfortable. Because they hit my ankle bone (might not be a concern for you) it makes them pretty uncomfortable. Worse is that my feet get hot in them. I think this is a function of the quality of the leather. My Frye oxfords breathe beautifully and my feet never sweat. My Adidas Sambas cause my feet to sweat before I even put them on. Last is they don't seem to have as much support as my Frye's. I wore nothing by my Frye oxfords for two weeks walking around the Netherlands and Germany and they felt great. My feet get tired pretty quickly in these. The finish is not nappy, but has a kind of waxy feel. As a result they are dust magnets. Here in southern New Mexico a short walk will have them absolutely blanketed in dirt. In a wet climate, that might actually be This isn't a deal-killer, but rather something to be aware of. So, they're fine, but you can do better (granted for 2-3x the price). Agree with the other reviewers about sizing. I typically wear an 11, and a 10.5 fit best in these.

Really liked the looks of these shoes but they are narrow. Had an oily appearance on leather. Like the brand and have several sandals which I highly recommend.

These are nice looking shoes that felt comfortable. They have nice low soles, but I had to return them; they felt half to a full size too large. I was going to order the next smaller size but Zappos does not stock them.

This is the "lite" version of the city chukka. The lite version is much cheaper but the drop in price comes at the expense of quality. Having said that, the shoe was beautiful and extremely comfortable. I ended up returning the shoe and getting the higher quality regular city chukka.

Probably one of the most uncomfortable shoes I have bought. The leather is quite stiff and the top edge of the boot constantly hurts by ankle. Looks good though.

Construction of the boot is top quality. That's always true of timberland.
Depending on the brand/shoe I'm usually a 12 or 13. From past reviews, I knew that the boot runs a half size bigger so I figured I'd give 12 a try. No go. Couldn't even fit the boot on. So I exchanged them for a 13, the boot felt a half size too big. Also the sides scraped my ankles which added to the discomfort. It was very disappointing.

These have the makings of a great comfortable shoe but giving them 1 star for a design feature flaw. Versatile for casual work environment or going out at night on weekend in the city, or strolling around time - in comfort! They fit like a glove and look really nice. Except the tongue is the stiffest most uncomfortable feature of this shoe - every step the sharp edge of the tongue would dig into my skin. Shocked that Timberland quality control let these go out the door to consumers! Tried these in my apartment and I was in pain after 10 minutes - I knew they would never get better. Zappos - I would get in touch with Timberland on this one! Sorry to have to send them back and waste Zappos shipping dollars on this product flaw. (By the way, size 15 D here and they were a perfect fit except for the horror of that stiff pain-inducing tongue!) I love my Zappos and will always shop here. Onto the next pair!

When these shoes were made in India, they came with anti-fatigue insoles, the lining was soft, and the stitching on the tongue was smooth (it didn't irritate/scratch your ankle through your socks).
Now that they are made in China, they don't have the anti-fatigue insoles, the lining is rough, and the stitching on the tongue will make you bleed, unless you always wear thick socks.
In a word, if you have owned these shoes before when they were made in India, don't order these expecting them to be the same. The "leather" is stiff and much darker and not malleable like the original Chukkas.
