I bought these shoes because I needed a wider toe box and wanted comfort as well. Initially, I wore them in an office environment and they worked fine, when you sat most of the time. Now, in a position where I am on my feet all the time, they are absolutely awful. My feet hurt so bad today I had to stand on one foot and then exchange back and forth until it was time for my shift to end. I hope that I can find some sort of insert to cushion them. I don't know how these people that have used them for 12 hour shifts in nursing could manage without severe foot pain? I wear 8.5 all the time and had to send back over and over to get the right size, which is 7.5.
