These boots are adorable! I have not seen another pair that I have liked more. They are a real pain to get on even with a boot horn but they are still worth it. Silk socks would probably help, I was too anxious to change out of my cotton crew. I am also very happy to know that these boots are not nearly as hard bottomed as any of my other boots and good thing because I do not know that I would be able to get my foot in with an insert. Although the foot leather is a little stiff and can tell that these boots will likely stretch out to fit my feet very nicely. There are no pinches or painful seems, not a lot of arch but good padding on the ball of my foot. I usually wear a 7½-8, I bought an 8½ because of the reviews and now that my cotton crews have relaxed a bit over my toes, the boot size is perfect. I'm 5.4" and the boot comes right to my knee - perfect! I have just enough room in the calf area and the leather, although firm enough to stand up, still very wearable - again, likely to conform to me perfectly. I would not recommend these if you have thicker calves. I am 50 and unlike the review who thought these boots not age appropriate for [her] 55 years, I think they are just fine for me - and my three fashion police daughters (in their mid 20's) agree. For the price, these boots are a steal! My boot selection is now complete. I absolutely love these boots!

I think I got one of the last pairs of these in my size and 7.5. I love them. I'm 5' 1.5", wear 30" inseam pants, and they just come up to my knee; not too tall for my legs at all. I was afraid from some of the comments that they would be too tall. They are a little tight across the ball of my foot, but I think they will stretch.

Absolutely loved these boots. I ordered up a 1/2 size based on recommendations and glad I did or would not have been able to get them on my foot. I have 15" wide calves and these fit perfectly with room for skinny jeans. No support in foot bed, but will try to add a gel pad and see if I can still get them on. Felt pretty comfy otherwise and wore all day shopping without problem. I love the look of these. As previously noted, the top is not a finished sewn edge, but it really isn't noticeable. These are my new favorites for style since i hate shiny boots- but Frye has them beat for comfort.... But I also didn't pay a fraction of what I did for the Fryes. Really happy and these are a keeper!

I just knew these were the ones as soon as I opened the box! They are rugged and feminine I loved these boots at first sight. After reading the specs on the boots, the shaft being 16" in circumference, I thought these would fit just fine. I was so wrong. I was not even able to get them on. I am borderline wide calf and I always look for a 16" shaft so I can wear boots with skinny jeans tucked in. The boots have a pull tab to assist getting the boots on, but it is so insubstantial you cannot really get a grip on it. So I cannot tell you if they run true to size or width. (You have to rate those categories to leave a review) I can tell you they are beautiful and that usually I find that the Steve Madden brand fits true to size. If these had a zipper I am sure they would have been keepers.

Just rec'd these boots and true to the other reviews, they fit best a half size up (I normally wear a 6 and the 6.5 fit perfectly foot wise). The only caveat with the fit and the only reason I have to return them is they are too tall for my 5'2" frame...they rubbed the back of my knees when I walked as I was trying them on and it was irritating. I wish they were a tad shorter and they'd be perfect. Love the style and real leather. Very cute. It pains me to send them back. One additional not that might help, the black is a faded sort of off black, like they are already worn/broken it...I didn't mind it but you should be aware that they aren't jet black new looking leather. Hope this helps, if you're taller, they are great! four stars on comfort is the tallness rubbing and the foot part fit perfectly one half size up.

Love these boots! Got my normal size and they fit perfectly, yes it would have been easier to get them on if there had been a zipper, but I don't care, I love these boots! the leather is nice and the look it so unique and they are actually comfortable, my husband even said he liked them....if you like the style, you will LOVE these.

These boots are extremely annoying to put on and off. It wasn't until I tried them on with bare feet that the slid on and off without a problem, so I'll have to get some silky socks or just wear some knee highs! Or if you have someone who can pull them off for you - that works too. I had to walk in them in the snow for 45 minutes with them. They passed the test - they were comfortable, and handled the slushy snow quite well (luckily I sprayed them with a universal protector that night). The left boot felt smaller than the other (bigger foot) - but after walking in them for that amount of time - it's not that noticeable, so they give a little. I'm still giving them 5 stars even with the annoyance of getting in and out of them, because they are just that great.

Super cute boots! Had my doubts when I opened the box whether I could get my foot in them, but no problem with a nylon sock. I have a 15 and 1/2 calf and these boots fit with a little room to spare. I ordered 1/2 size up and they fit perfect. This is the first pair of tall boots I've ever bought that actually fit all around. These are keepers! Really, really happy with this purchase!

I love these boots, so much so that I may buy another pair I never want to be without these! I get compliments everywhere I go! I live in Fleur De' Lis Ville, so they are a huge hit!

I looked at these boots several times before ordering and, in fact, tried some dressier tall black boots before taking the plunge. The others were not right so I gave these a shot. I am so glad that I did. True, they are not as dressy, but they have a great edgy feel. I have worn them with jeans and long skirts and get compliments on them every time I wear them. Everyone loves the cool brown fleur de lis pattern up the back. The leather is odd and a bit thin, but it looks fine and wears great. The shaft is a bit wider than most boots that I own but it is probably true to the stated measurement. They are very comfortable with no break in time at all. If I had to change one thing, it might be the seam up the front of the boot, but given how cool they are, I can live with it. Thank you Zappos for being so awesome!

I am so happy with these boots! I wasn't sure about buying boots without trying them on but needed them for a trip, the boots arrived quickly and were very comfortable! These are my favorite go to boots!!!

I found these boots fit very true to size. I originally read the reviews saying they run small so I got half a size bigger and I had to return them for the correct size. I love the looks of them and the are casual and tough looking. They are great with skinnies. I am very happy with them.

I did not know what to think ordering boots online for the first time but I am so glad that I did. I want to wear these boots with everything. The black and little bit of brown makes them match just about everything. I get so many compliments on these boots, get them! They do come up a little higher on the calf than I am used to but I cannot get enough of these boots.

These boots are wonderful, the leather has a great rough finish to it. The brown and black color make it very versatile too. I would go up a size, as I found it to run small.

These boots rock! They are a really great black color without being too shiny or too vintage. At first I thought that I would have a really hard time without a zipped entry. To my surprise, not so much. The contrasting brown strip up the back is really cool looking. I thought the footsole felt ok. a bit stiff, maybe needing a gel insert. I would keep these boots, but they are just a bit less age appropriate for me. I am 55. If you are in your 20's or 30s and like slightly dressier motorcycle boots, but these.

I absolutely love these boots. They are very cute with tights and a skirt. Initially, the shafts of these boots were too tight for my calves, but I was able to work a little magic, and now they fit like a dream. They do not have much support for my high arches, but I think if I am going to wear them all day, I will throw some good insoles in.

I love these boots! Initially I ordered a 7.5. Could barely get them on. Returned them and got an 8. They feel big now, but they are so cute I don't care! I put an insole in there and all is well. I have had them 2 days and have received so many compliments. Buy these! But be warned, if you are under 5'5" they will come over your knee cap.

Love these boots. Very comfortable. I wear them with narrow leg jeans. The brown detail up the back really is cute. I get a ton of compliments on them. No zipper or anything though so sort of hard to get on.

These boots are unbelievably cool. I love the brown on the back - nice touch. I love how tall they are. I have longer than average legs (32" pant inseam) ...and these come up to my knees. Nice! Fit is perfect. I wear size 9.5, and these are just snug enough around my calves (15"). The black leather has nice finish...not so shiny and dressy like some others. These boots are seriously ready to kick something!

The boots are gorgeous. They are difficult to get on at the ankle area though and I had to use a plastic bag otherwise there is no way my feet would go in. I do nit think ordering half or a full size larger would have helped because the footbed seems roomy with my regular size. I am 5'8½" and they are two finger widths below the bend of my knee. I have 15" calves and they fit just fine and I could use skinny jeans with them. This is a good quality boot for the price and I am not sending them back because they look so good. I hope the leather stretches over time so I can get them on without the bag. Super fast shipping from Zappos!

These boots are very versatile and I love the look of them. The brown trim on the back is really cool. They're really comfortable as well and haven't required any breaking in. The only complaint I have about these boots is that they are really hard to get on your feet as there is no give, zippers or loops to help you pull them on. If I had loops to grab to pull them on, these boots would be perfect. But once they're on, they're awesome!

This boot has a great look and I get lots of compliments, I love it. It feels just the tiniest bit big, but I tried on the half size smaller and it didn't work. I wish it had some pull tabs, with as tall as it is and nothing to pull it can be a struggle to get the boot on, which I imagine why it's made a little roomier. Love though, not sending them back!

Cute boot! Got it on fine but the toes were too narrow for me. I am a true size 8 med. Maybe an 8 1/2 would work. Also I am tall and the boot came up to the bend in my knee. It didn't bother me at all as that is the "look." Detailing on the back of the boot is nice.
