I love these shoes! As a nurse working 12 hour shifts and having chronic hip pain, I can honestly say these are the best shoes I have owned - great for someone with flat feet also - great support and they are so comfortable - I was scared of the price - but worth every penny! Will buy another pair in the future.

Compared to a similar Brooks Addiction shoe, the Asics shoe had a slightly uncomfortable toe box because it was narrow, while the heels were too loose and my heels slipped up and down (11-1/2 N). Otherwise comfortable and attractive as a shoe for me for walking, gym, and leisure -- not running.

I absolutely love the Gel-Kayano shoe. I have been wearing them for probably the past 5 or 6 years. I am now due for a new pair and much to my despair the colors are just not what a 68 year old woman wants to be wearing. Please go back to making the white with just one color on them like my turquoise pair & my pink pair. I am afraid I am going to have to say good-by the Asics because of their color selection! I love my Gel-Kayano's and am so disappointed!

These are an outstanding sneaker in many ways: lightweight, flexible, great gel sole, beautiful colors, especially like the lightning color which is a charcoal grey, perfect if you don't want white or black, but some neutral color for everyday. But returned these (thanks Zappos) in favor of Brooks Ariel as the Ariel has better arch support and the laces extend too far down into the toe box for those of us with bunions. I hope Asics reworks the laces as others have mentioned this issue, and beefs up the arch support- this shoe could be a super winner with a little tweaking.

I wear an 8N street shoe, the 9N is a tiny bit long on me, but the 8.5 was too short. Nice and narrow, holds the heel well. Have the 2160 but could not find anywhere, after trying many Asics and other this was the closest fit.

I read the reviews, checked with running websites and this was the pair to get...until I wore them a few times and was suddenly suffering from painful shin splints. Not sure if the shoe is heavier than what I had worn previously (Nike Pegasus), but after wearing these a few times, some major pain, and never completing a run, I went back to my old shoes only to find I was able to run as previous. I can't say these are bad shoes because I'm sure for some people the shoes are great--but I am going back to my Nikes and icing my shins! Happy running!

I love the way these feel on the bottom. I could feel the arch support and the cushion, however, I wear a wide shoe and it just wasn't wide enough in this shoe.

I have several pairs of Gel Kayanos. This style, though I love the colors does not feel nearly as cushiony, so I am returning them.

I'm really not so impressed with the quality of these shoes, especially knowing these are double the cost of what I normally spend on sneakers. In fact, the side of the sneaker smeared ink stamp from the design of the shoes. Definitely returning them.

I'm a big jogger/walker, 330 lbs. Asics had always been my go to but these did not have enough support behind my big toe as I rolled off. I'm an over pronator with bad knees so I had to send these back, I'm using Brooks Adrenaline GTS 13 now. They make my foot feel level which should result in less knee pain.

I've worn the Asics Gel 1140 for several years now, I can't find them anywhere, so I ordered these instead. They are okay, not really worth the price. The insole and cushioning is just not as good as the Gel 1140. After jogging and Zumba, my feet are hurting. The shoes are cute though, I'll keep them and wear them for light work out days.

I recently had a combination of bunion surgery & ankle tendon in my left foot repaired. I was in need of new gym shoes & needed something with more arch support & stability. After reading reviews & the shoe description, I settled on these. I was excited to see that they came in a color my size (11B) of than the usual icky aqua blue and white combo. I ordered the black/electric pink/apple green shoe. Unfortunately, luck wasn't on my side. Since my foot is still in the healing phase, I need a wider width. Sadly, this cool color combo doesn't come in a wide. I'm sending this back & ordering the Asics GT-2000 in black/white/electric blue. Hopefully, that will work.

Having purchased this shoe model for the past 6 years, am disappointed ASICS changed the Gel Kayano style. Returning the item, and buying last year's model.

These very cute -- and very pricey -- shoes provide only enough arch support for walking for me. Even in low impact intensive activities, like using an elliptical machine, my feet ache after about 10 minutes. Normally, I experience aching feet only when my shoes begin to wear out, after a year or so of heavy use. Also, they are wider in the box than is usual -- and I don't have narrow feet. I am disappointed, since I bought these to replace a great pair of Gel Kayano shoes that I loved. At least I can wear these to walk in.

Really not impressed with these. They're my first pair of Asics that actually required breaking in. They are very narrow, and I'd have to stop running after the first couple of miles at first. By the time I realized this, it was too late to return, so I stuck it out. They're fine now, but they were a killer at first. Also, not such a huge fan of the colors! Oh well. Live and learn!

Love the fit and how it feels - when new. But the Kayano 19's do not wear well. Soles started to wear down after only one long run. Put triple the miles on previous models. Disappointing. Asics needs to step up the quality and wear, or offer refunds when their product doesn't last. Too much money for shoes that don't last 3 months.

I loved the way these shoes looked, but unfortunately the toe box seemed way too narrow. I don't think a larger size would work as they fit in the big toe area, just not the rest of my toes. I have a size 6 in Asics Nimbus 9 that I've absolutely loved and I'm trying to find another pair of Asics that fit and feel like these, but no luck yet. Seems like Asics has fiddled with their sizes and sadly I might have to try a different brand now.

I am a big fan of ASICS GEL Kayano. Been wearing for over 7 years now...there is something about the Gel Kayano 19 that is different than my previous pairs...after 5-6 weeks, the material seemed to stretch and my feet were sliding all over the place. Also the material has seem to wear faster this time. I am more disappointed in the 19 than previous models. All previous models I would rate 5 stars in every category.

I've been wearing Asics Gel-Kayano for years. My last pair were 18's. I just received a pair of the 19 model and immediately felt something weird rubbing on top of my toes (at the base). It appears that whereas the 18s were cut in one piece; the 19's tongue is sewn separately onto the upper. Now there is an extra seam running across the top width with extra material taking up space and rubbing against toes. I wear medium width shoe with medium arches. I do wear these with Super Feet inserts, so maybe that is complicating things - but I can tell the extra material at the tongue would cause a blister. Maybe the Gel Kayano 20? Will have to see what the tongue on it looks like...(was trying to save a little $ by purchasing the 19).

I have worn the Kayanos for 3 years now to do the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer, which is 40 miles in two days. This not only requires wear for the walk but also months of 8-12 mile training walks and I have absolutely loved them. I was the only person on my 50+ person team without sore feet and blisters. I bought this pair for the walk this year...same size and everything...and they are horribly uncomfortable. I had horrible blisters and my feet felt like I was walking on plain cement after the first 5 mile walk and it only got worse with more wear. There must be something they changed this year but I would rather walk barefoot than wear this style. I switched to the Nimbus which I have always used just for running and am much happier.

This is my fourth or fifth pair of the Kayano series. This is the first style that I was dissatisfied with. The arch is low and the shoes does not provide the stability that the past style provided. Overall I do not feel these shoes will last long. I hope Asics designs a better shoe or I will have to find a different shoe.

When I first put on the shoes I loved them. However within about a month I noticed the ball of my foot began to move. I cinched the laces tighter, but one night I literally ran out of the shoe at a fitness class. I am now wearing two pairs of socks, and not loving my shoes anymore. That was a lot of money to spend for shoes that stretched out so quickly. I have two friends who also purchased the shoes and had the same experience.

I had to return this shoe. I always wear Asics running shoes but this was my first Kayano. I am a moderate to severe over-pronator and never had a problem with any version of the Asics' running shoes until this one. I would say that this is a neutral shoe with not much stability support. There is not much over-pronation support and I really wouldn't get these if that is an issue for you. The great news is that if you ever need to call Zappos' customer support they really are fantastic!

Loved the Kayano 18, but these have almost no cushion for the ball of your foot. They feel cheaply made and are not worth the price. The one pro is the size of the toe box - a little wider without being overly wide.

I am very disappointed by this model of the Asics shoe. I first found the GEL-Kayano shoes at Fleet Feet - I think my first pair was the 16 or 17 and I loved the support. I've had a stress fracture in my right ankle in the past and I have really high arches so the cushion in the shoe was perfect for me. It became my favorite tennis shoe for running, playing volleyball, hiking, walking, you name it. I have subsequently bought the newest model for this shoe each year. I was happy to see that the 18 was available on Zappos and I think it was slightly cheaper to buy it on Zappos so I ordered it online rather than going to Fleet Feet to try it on. I was very satisfied with the 18's for support, comfort and durability. It came time to get another pair of athletic shoes as I've had the 18's for a year and a half now so I went to buy the 19's here. I read a few reviews complaining about the arch support and I wish I had heeded their advice and avoided buying this shoe. I have worn this shoe for a few weeks and one of my feet starting hurting. I sustained a sprain in December on this foot but it has since healed with physical therapy and I was back to normal. I have since stopped wearing the Gel Kayano 19 and my foot is feeling much better. I started wearing the 18's again. For the cost, this was a complete ripoff for a pair of shoes that I cannot wear.
